Educate me please....

I see people posting about things happening at certain times, like the 14 week sleep regression and such. My two older kids are 11 and 13 and I never knew about any of this back then and I'm wondering where you ladies are getting this info from. I don't want to jinx anything but I'm not sure if my LO at 14 weeks now should have gone through anything I might not have picked up on or is going to go through these and I should be reading up on to be prepared. TIA!

Re: Educate me please....

  • I have the app called The Wonder Weeks. That's where I get my info from. It's pretty awesome.
  • Loading the player...

Same! I downloaded it once the ladies on here were talking about it. Is so informative
  • I also use wonder weeks. It gives you a run down of developmental leaps by age.

  • Love the app too although leap four is weeks long and looks scary!
  • I don't have the app and don't know anything about wonder weeks or sleep regression... Ignorance is bliss, perhaps? Does anyone feel like it is self-fulfilling prophecy? Like, you are expecting difficulties and so notice them more? Just curious, can't decide whether I want to look into the app or not!

Same boat here... Ignorance can be bliss I think lol at the end of the day the baby's gunna do what the baby's gunna do regardless or growth spurts, wonder weeks etc. I was getting too ahead of myself reading up on all that haha.
I don't do it so much now and I think I drive myself a little less crazy. When LO acts crazy I just hold on for the ride and tell myself it'll pass Hana

I have the app and while I notice that my son does have the new abilities that line up with the wonder week, he doesn't have the added fussiness or whatever symptoms go along with the leap. And I'm now running around looking for some wood to knock on as I'm sure I just full-blown jinxed myself for the next one haha.
  • I love it...didn't get or know about the app until the 2nd leap and it's been spot on though some leaps have been a little shorter. During the first leap I was so clueless and thought is this my new baby? Should I take him to the doctor? What is wrong? I find the app reassuring and let's me know what new skills he's developing which is fun to look for. Above all I know there is a reason for the behavior and an end in sight. I try not to dread the leaps/wonder weeks, some were worse then others.
  • Thanks ladies! I'm kinda hoping on the ignorance is bliss method lol I'm kinda nervous to read up on it. But would be interesting to see if what's supposed to be happening.
  • I don't do the app, but my professional background is in developmental psych and education. Lots of books out there that detail various windows of development.
