You know you have the best OB when

He personally calls you with your lab results to tell you your levels are doubling and look great!

I honestly was a little teary(hormones I'm sure) because I thought it was super thoughtful. He said he knows how anxious I can get. He's delivered both my girls and  my second tri loss.

I so appreciated that call! And Yay for growing baby

  • My OB is awesome, and the head nurse is super awesome too. She called me on her lunch break today as soon as my results came in bc she knew I was freaking out :)

  • Wow that is a great OB! I don't have one yet since I have my RE and my nurse that will follow me for the first 20 weeks or so... So I will have to start to look for one eventually.

  • thats awesome! I love my RE and nurse, I'm a bit bummed that they're only following me for 10 weeks. I need to start looking for an OB and fingers crossed they are half as involved as my RE and nurse!
  • My OB was amazing! She followed my levels down from my loss and called me every week with the results and options to move forward. She's away for the holidays and I'm hoping to see her Monday! I'll be calling - she told me the second I got a positive HPT she wanted to know so she could start monitoring me early on, so it would ease my nerves. I can't wait to go in and see if my pregnancy is valid.

  • She responds to my messages within the hour. Even during off times.
  • He shows up to deliver your baby even though he's not on call.

(Granted I was a little upset I didn't have the on-call doc since she was the one who admitted me and is a bit more compassionate considering she herself has experienced child birth, but trying to see the silver lining here and give my OB the benefit of the doubt).
  • My OB and her nurse are amazing! My OB tells everyone that she adores me and thinks I'm so funny. She high fived me in the cafeteria when I told her we were working on another babe, and then went back to the office and told her nurse I'd be back soon. The nurse called me today to update records and said that her and the doc were just talking about how much fun I am. I can hardly wait to see those ladies regularly again!
  • My OB answers e-mails during weekend, he calls with lab results, he calls at night if necessary (once I got a coll almost 9pm) and he spends time with me in his office - his patients are not just a number. I love that he is always up to answer questions and he really listens. He went to the hospital to deliver DD. He was not on call, but he had told the nurses that I was getting in that day and told them to call him as soon as I was almost ready so he would be there. He got in, 5 minutes, 2 pushes and DD was out.

  • My OB laughed when I told her I missed our first phone appointment (which I was HIGHLY anticipating) because I fell asleep on top of my cell phone while waiting for the appt time. She totally understood.
