This was pretty hard to search just because of the endless combinations of words I could try, do forgive me if this has been asked! I'm just looking for someone who has been through this. I was cleaning up my treatment room between patients and I went to put a box onto the counter. It's about the size of one of those risers you stack in a step class (best I could come up with!). So I overshot the location of this cabinet and walked straight into it with the box against my stomach. IT HURT! I immediately couldn't breathe and had to sit for a minute to catch my breath. Now I have been having period like cramps for the last hour. Left a voicemail at the midwives and am anxiously awaiting a return call...anyone ever get knocked pretty hard in the baby pocket?! (I am 11.3 for reference...)
Thanks!!
Re: Blunt force?
well, I'm gonna be Debbie downer a little bit with this post but I work with domestic violence victims and I have had quite a few ladies say that their abusive partner kicked and punched them in the stomach and threw them down on the ground while pregnant. The ones that I can remember all had perfectly healthy babies. Women's bodies are built to withstand some pretty tough shit, especially during pregnancy. I really doubt that you could have bumped yourself so hard to cause damage. As @lindsayleigh1989 mentioned, baby is nice and tucked away in a pretty protective little bubble.
I wouldn't be concerned, but keep us posted!

But I think the term "baby pocket" is the high point of my day right now.

The situation you described earlier (being kicked in the stomach) is exactly what led to my premature birth at 28 weeks. I was in the NICU for a long time and was suppose to have a whole bunch of problems. My biological parents were real winners.
Thankfully my parents (the people who raised me) were such amazing people and gave me the life they thought I deserved. I couldn't have picked better people myself!
I'm so glad you took the necessary steps and ended that relationship. I only hope the man you are with now treats you the way you should be treated!!
