Extreme nausea

Hello-I am experiencing extreme nausea. I am basically bed ridden and can't keep anything down. I am taking diclrgis but it isn't helping. I am so weak and tired. I have two other kids and I can't be in bed like this... Wondering if anyone has any solutions that have worked for them?

Re: Extreme nausea

  • My dr put me on diclrgis and it seems to be working, but she told me to stick to foods that will stay down. For me it has been toast with peanut butter and that's about all. Good luck!

  • I was in the same boat for the past 2 weeks. Diclegis did not work for me (it subdued the nausea for about 2 hours but it's supposed to last a lot longer than that). My OB called me in some Phenergan yesterday. It didn't knock me out like I've heard with others (but did make me groggy) and I woke up this morning without nausea!! I figured if I needed it throughout the day then I would break up the pill into halves since I have to be somewhat functional at work.
  • I was like that for my first! At week 13 I was taken to the ER for dehydration! Once I had a few bags of fluid I felt so much better. Try Asking your doctor for Zofran. If you get to the point where you are very dizzy, dry heaving a lot and just can't get hydrated consider getting an IV of fluid.
  • Try preggie pops they helped me but today I been in same boat because I forgot them at home while I was at work had to run few times not fun at all
  • Like others, I didn't get relief until I added phenergran 2x a day. I am still nauseous, but ginger pills have helped with that. So I'm taking unisom/b6 3x a day, phenergran 2x, and ginger pills 2x (when the nausea hits). I am back to being able to function. Talk to your dr- mine was so helpful in getting this routine together and getting me relief. Hope you feel better, this is the worst feeling.

  • Definitely talk to your doctor - if you can't keep anything down they'll be able to give you a few things to try. If you can't even keep fluids down you may need to go to the hospital for fluids! Your doctor will be able to give you advice, though.
  • Girl I know just how your feeling. My Dr called in somthing for the nausea but I refuse to take it because there is a category c risk. U have tried preggie pops, ginger chews, saltine crackers, ginger ale nothing works for me. If you find something that helps you please post.
