Video monitors

I have used the Angel Care Monitor for my three oldest, but it no longer works. I was planning on just buying a new one, but DH wants to look into the video monitors. I'm not interested in one that connects to my phone, but I am looking at them. Are they worth the hype? I liked the security of the motion sensor. I'm afraid I wouldn't be as comfortable without that feature.
