1. The heat is on! 2. And it's killing me - at this moment I am lying in front of a fan wishing for the summer to go away. 3. I am not looking forward to NYE at all. 4. How soon is too soon to rewatch Vikings again? 5. DH got leave from his office so he'a been off from last week Friday until this Sunday - 10 days of DH is the best gift ever. 6. We are going to a local pancake restaurant tomorrow - A milktart filled pancake sounds so great right now. 7. Is milktart (melktert) a thing in other countries? If not - you guys should totally try it! 8. DH called my stretch marks 'pregnancy battle scars' this morning - he truly is the best!! 9. We've been calling Baby Boy Alex the last couple of days - I love our name! 10. I really want a BB 8 Droid.
1. DS spent a week with his older cousins (5, 3, 1.5) and it was adorable! They taught him many things, including climbing! He now climbs on the couch and walks off into our arms. I see an ER visit in our future... 2. We have all been trading sickness around and I'm so worn out. I need some rest! 3. Our dogs are loving snow, they run and jump and it's the cutest. 4. I'm a worrier, and it seems to be getting worse. Like maybe to the point where i need to acknowledge it's anxiety and work on it a bit. 5. Last baby i kept a little weekly "blog" for family since they are all out of town. I already have mom guilt....going on 19 weeks and only did one post this time. Eek! 6. I can't seem to keep one room in my house clean. It's getting out of hand. 7. We have a bird and I know it's just a matter of time before DS gets a finger bitten. We keep him away from the cage as much as we can! 8. I see the midwife today and am really hopeful she ends up saying I can get my anatomy scan ASAP rather than after 20 weeks. I know it's not that far away but still... 9. We are stuck on finding a middle name that flows well with both Margaret and Maggie. Well, I take back. One syllable names seem to work like Rose, but would prefer a name from DH's side with some family significance. Names are hard. Don't even get me started with boys! 10. It's starting to hit me that this could be our last pregnancy. We knew we wanted to try for 2 kids and any after that would be a "see as we go" kind of approach. I dont want to assume anything, but I also don't want to look back and think I didn't experience it the same way as if I had known it was our last baby. I guess I'm just emotional today...
1. Meeting with one of my best friends for lunch and will reveal gender. So excited to share news like this in person! 2. DH and I are going to start the register on Friday... better start researching. 3. Have been going through weird energy spurts - cleaning for hours one day and then netflixing for hours the next... I really just want to cancel Netflix. 4. Running out of clothes to hide my pregnancy at work. Only 4 more days in office until I tell them. Not particularly excited. 5. Names are super hard @lionstigersbears! DH and I will agree and then the next day, one of us has fallen out of love. I just wish we knew so we could call our son by his name! 6. Not close with my sister at all, and the first thing she did on Christmas was rub my stomach and said "ohhh, you are getting pudgy." Took everything in me to just walk away. 7. DH is not as close with his family as I am, and still hasn't called to reveal gender (they live in another state). I'm so worried they will hear through grapevine and get feelings hurt. 8. Hoping to lock in date for babymoon in the next week. We are just planning a long weekend within driving distance as I'm over flying. Excited for some time away! 9. Told my friend yesterday I had to deliver at 38 weeks, and she said that Pictocin was the worst. Thanks, I'm not already freaking out about it! 10. Saw a post earlier about a baby check list by month. Going to go search for one now to hopefully get my butt in gear.
I had a serious case of pregnancy brain yesterday! DH and I had gotten in really late from traveling (horrible traffic turned what should have been an 11 hour drive into a 15 hour one!). I dragged myself out of bed for work yesterday morning, got showered, got dressed, got on the freeway to go to work, and then remembered that I had taken Monday off! At least I was up early and got a lot more accomplished than I would have otherwise!
I think DH and I are closer to finalizing LO's name. Since we found out we were having a boy, the middle name (Glen, a family name) has been set, but we are now about 90% decided on Cameron for his first name.
I was so glad I got to see my best friend this past weekend. She has been battling ovarian cancer for over a year, and this is the first time I have seen her in almost a year. She lives in another state and was also in town visiting family, so it was really nice to catch up. I am so grateful for her support during this pregnancy, especially since she and her H will most likely be unable to have children of their own, and I know how much she always wanted them.
I go for my 20 wk AS next Thursday, and I hope we get our blood test results before then so I can discuss them with my doctor in-person at my visit (my genetic screening showed that I was a carrier for a genetic disorder, so DH was tested and his results should have already been back). Even though there's nothing I can do either way, I'm going to be on pins and needles until I know the results.
I finally gave in and started wearing maternity clothes last week, and they are so much more comfortable! I'm 19 wks, and nothing else fits right anymore -not even my "fat jeans"! They're more flattering, too. I should have done this sooner!
There is a maternity boutique in the shopping center next to my office, and I got a sizable gift card to there from DH's grandmother for Christmas. I know what I'm doing on my lunch break today!
DH's parents are in town for the week (but not staying with us). DH and I cleaned the house before they came over last night, and it hasn't been this clean/organized in months! I am determined to keep it that way!
We got so many cute baby clothes for Christmas. I'm just afraid this little guy is going to start outgrowing things before he even has a chance to wear each outfit!
The other day, my SIL told me that my MIL has turned one of their guest rooms into a baby gear storage room lately, so I guess she only gave us a fraction of it for Christmas. This is her first grandchild, and she LOVES to shop, so I may need to remind her that we have very limited storage at our house.
While DH's parents are in town, they (mostly MIL) want to go shopping for nursery furniture. They have offered to buy the entire set. I know it's going to be expensive (especially with MIL's high-end taste), so I feel bad, but they are insisting, so I guess we'll indulge them. I'm hoping they'll agree to a nice set at a reasonable price point so I don't feel as bad about it.
1. It's starting to get cold, and DH decided to mess with the thermostat and now the heat is not working at all. Thanks honey! 2. @lionstigersbears my niece is Margaret Sophia! Rose is beautiful too! 3. Work is so slow this week. Now I know why I usually take this week off. But trying to save all my paid time off for maternity leave! 4. I really want a chocolate chip cookie. 5. My niece and nephew (6 and 3) are so excited about their new cousin. It's so cute! I just wish they didn't live 700 miles away. 6. I need to finish a draft chapter of my dissertation by Thursday. And really need to finish the whole thing before baby arrives. 7. I'm silly obsessed with looking at cloth diapers and accessories online. Can't wait to start buying! 8. @charissadeats I don't know what a milktart is, but pancakes sound amazing! 9. I have a coworker who drives me crazy. Her voice is like nails on a chalkboard. Ugh. 10. I'm having trouble coming up with ten things. My life is pretty boring!
1. I'm ready to buy the crib for baby #2 but it's sold out everywhere. I finally found it on one website that will ship it late January so I'm about to go snatch it up, I hope. 2. My DD is requesting a bowl of marshmallows at 9:45 am and it's the only thing she can think about. 3. We have the A/S tomorrow morning! We were told at 16 weeks it was a boy so we will see if that stays the same! Regardless, praying for a healthy baby and a good scan. 4. I really want some breakfast tacos from Whataburger but I ate a banana instead. 5. Baby is currently squirming around everywhere and I feel kicks as high as my belly button. The best feeling. 6. We cleaned out the master closet on Sunday and had five huge contractor bags of clothes to giveaway. I was shocked at how quickly things accumulate. 7. I'm in the process of redecorating DDs room and she picked unicorns. I decided to do a modern take on unicorns, clouds and stars so I hope she loves it. I just couldn't do a full unicorn room. 8. I've been working on collecting the entire Puffin in Bloom book series and now I have them all. I don't intend to read them but love the way they look for decor purposes. I'm so bizarre. 9. As I'm typing, I now feel like an order of large fries with tons of ketchup. Hmmmm...lunch? 10. Fries. Just fries.
1. I had my anatomy scan yesterday and the doctor said everything was looking GREAT!!! I'm over the moon. During my last pregnancy, we found out about a rare heart problem that our baby would not survive. I've always been excited about this pregnancy, but I feel like I was holding some excitement back because I was scared we would go through the same thing again.
2. This morning we had a fetal echocardiogram to look closer at the heart. The pediatric cardiologist is out on vacation, so they are sending the images to a specialized clinic.
3. I wish I could have the entire week off, but I have one client that is trying to get a trust set up by year end. I'm here basically just working on that (and bumping). I'm losing 9 days of PTO this year because I haven't used them.
4. I'm ready to buy more baby stuff now! We already have a nice stroller I bought last time, but that's about it.
5. I don't have NYE plans yet. We usually don't decide until the day before, but I think I'm going to avoid the bar scene at all costs.
6. We haven't put a ton of effort into naming baby yet, because we wanted to confirm the sex at our anatomy scan. We had an elective U/S at a boutique place at 13w and the tech said she was 100% certain it was a boy. She was right!
7. Our favorite names so far are: Beau Robert, Brooks Lee, Colt Tracey, and Robert Lee (nn Robbie). My H tends to like "tough guy" names...
8. I'm actually tired of eating such rich food over the holidays. Fresh salad has never sounded better to me. We are dusting off our juicer and getting that going for the new year. This time, I'm going to be better about not wasting the juice pulp.
9. Another favorite of mine that I'm going to reinstate for the new year is chia pudding. You soak chia seeds in vanilla or chocolate almond milk and it is like a bubbly pudding. So tasty.
10. I hope everyone has as much fun as one can on a sober NYE!

@js8812Thank you for reminding me about my juicer! I had taken it off the counter and completely forgot!
Also, going to try that chia pudding. How long should it soak?
@aliciad39 You're welcome! I haven't used mine in over a year. I'm overdue.
I usually soak it for least 1-2 hours, but it can be made a day or so in advance, too. I put mine in a mason jar and shake it at least once while it's in the fridge. I wish I could remember the exact ratio of milk/chia seeds, but you will find a consistency that you like. I tend to like mine a little more on the soupy side.
1. I'm beyond excited to take my Christmas decorations down tomorrow. I didn't even want to put them up this year, I only did it for the kids. 2. I have this week off babysitting. I'm going to take this opportunity to catch up on my housework 3. I gave my grandma a framed photo of her and my grandpa for Christmas. She's not an emotional person, but I could tell it really hit her in the feels and naturally I cried when she opened it. I'm so glad she liked it 4. Sex reveal party on Sunday I'm excited! I'm 99% sure it's another boy, most everyone else is convinced it's a girl. I'm very curious to find out! Hubby and I will know Thursday night! 5. I'm so behind on DS#2's baby book...I feel like that should earn me a bad mom award I started the catch up yesterday, and I'm almost there, but how did I let it get so bad!? 6. I'm being tricky on the dessert for the party. My sister and I decided to make white cupcakes, filled with pink and frosted blue. Or possibly the other way around. We haven't 100% decided yet lol but either way, it could be right or wrong and no one will know but us lol 7. My MIL is keeping the boys Thursday night this mama will not be awake to ring in the new year lol 8. I'm having trouble coming up with these today...which is unusual. 9. Starting potty training next week...officially. DS has been wanting to use the potty, but not consistently, so we'll see how it goes! 10. I'm so ready for May!!!! I wanna meet our new baby!!!!
1. I love having the week off to spend more time with DS-- plus I'm not utterly exhausted by the time DH gets home. 2. I've snagged lots of after Christmas sales this year that I'm excited about. 3. My shoulder sprain is already feeling significantly better just four days in with a heat pack. I'm so thankful for that! 4. DS got a drum set for Christmas and has been going to town on it. He's figured out the bass pedal too. DH is relieved that it's not very loud. 5. We focused on mostly smaller or easily stored toys that DS would love for Christmas. My family got him lots of big toys. I'll be using naptime today to organize things better so that we still have space to live and play. 6. We really should finish our basement. It's just such a daunting task. 7. We're seeing our best friends from college this evening. I'm really excited because we don't get to hang out often since they live in CA now. 8. Baby boy is still kicking my bladder a ton, but I'll take it because I love the reassurance of kicks. 9. DH was adorable on Christmas morning. DS was too, but I had expected him to be. 10. My parents got us a Keurig, so I've been spoiled now. I haven't had any sort of coffee since caffeine turns my stomach when I'm pregnant and DH needs his coffee. Now we can each have our own 11. Edited because of my phone's screwed up autocorrect. Anyone know if I can reset that on a Samsung to get a clean slate?
1. We survived our Christmas trip to Oregon and are now back home. 2. As an added bonus to the trip, DD had been sleeping in later than usual because she's still adjusting from west coast time. Yay 3. DD loves her new kitchen set! 4. We finally decided how we're going to rearrange for baby boy. DD will stay in her small room, and we'll remove some of the nursery furniture in exchange for a low bed with a crib rail. Baby will get the larger guest room as a nursery and play room. 5. I get to see my BFF this weekend for the 2nd time in 2 weeks! 6. I'm ready for 2016 to be here. Mostly because I'm ready for May to hurry up and get here. 7. H and I don't plan on having any more kids after this. I'm strangely excited to close the pregnancy chapter of my life forever. I thought I'd be more melancholy about it. 8. I have no food because we haven't been to the store since we got back. 9. I guess it's Taco Bell for lunch 10. Go away, rain. I feel like it has rained nonstop this December.
1. I LOVE VIKINGS!!! @charissadeats 2. I'm crazy hungry today, I even bright extra snacks to work and they are almost gone. I wanted to eat my lunch an hour ago but then I would have nothing later 3. It finally snowed!!! I love snow!!! 4. My dogs love snow!!! 5. My car works great in the snow!!! 6. DH's truck needs new brakes so that's no fun, but we now have a lunch date Thursday because I'm taking it on for him 7. A consultant scheduled a conference call today to discuss the permit I'm working on... It lasted 5 minutes. It took longer to sign into the can than to actually discuss things 8. DH and I must be crazy because we decided to go grocery shopping during the snow storm last night 9. Did I mention I was hungry???? 10. I wore snow boots to work today because I knew I had other shoes to change into... Unfortunately I forgot that my pants are too short to wear regular shoes with. Oh well, I will blame my fashion choices on being an engineer
1. I don't have lunch today, and as soon as @Bluejay3030 said Taco Bell baby said "YES!" 2. We went to see Star Wars on Saturday and the baby loved it. Or hated it. Either way he moved around the ENTIRE time which was fun. I love that feeling. 3. I am slightly...under-motivated...at work this week so I was looking back through old threads on this board, before I joined. It was fun and filled in a few blanks Although, reading about so many losses made me sad. I've had an uneventful pregnancy but loss is always in the back of my mind. 4. We're leaving for our Honeybabymoon on Sunday and I can't wait...I haven't had a vacation in at least 3 years. Please let the food be good!!! 5. Going to see one daycare a day for the next 3 days...leaving in about a half hour for the 1st one. I really want to get daycare locked down so we can start finding a pediatrician...I know I could look for both at once but that makes me a little stressed out so I'd rather do one at a time. 6. One of the guys at my work yesterday insinuated that my pregnancy was an accident which pissed me off. First of all, none of your business, 2nd of all, if you must know, it was quite planned. STFU. It's because I was 8 weeks pg when we got married...for some reason a few people forgot that we planned the wedding for almost an entire year and assume that's why we got married. I mean...what? One of DH's friend actually referred to it as a shotgun wedding which also pissed me off. Maybe, I don't know, look up the definition of that? Ugh. 7. Ok, clearly #6 should have been saved for my Twatwaffle of the day Apparently I was more upset than I realized. And I don't know why I am upset, because there's nothing wrong with getting married because you got pregnant, or having an accidental pregnancy vs a planned one. It just wasn't our situation, and I hate that people feel free to make comments like that. 8. I actually had a friend who chastised me for buying a house with my husband before we were engaged because "that's not the way you're supposed to do things." Apparently I'm cranky or hormonal today, but do some people feel the need/right to be so judgmental? 9. Clearly it's time to lighten my TTT with a fun fact. Last night I read that your nipples start darkening at week 32ish so that a premee (sp?) baby can see them better. I have no idea if this is true. 10. I'm hoping, for the sake of everyone around me, that Taco Bell puts me in a better mood
1. I won the champion in our fantasy football league beating out my husband and my brother. Now I get to trash talk until next season!
2. I never get sick but I got this cold over Christmas and now have a lingering cough. So annoying.
3. I'm not ready for the year end work wise. Always so much to do.
4. But yay for another short week!!
5. Looking forward to NYE with friends. We always have a good time with them.
6. We went camping/ dirt bike riding this past weekend and are going Fri-Sun. I go to hang out and cook basically. I hope my husband realizes how good I am to him.
7. We got DD a science kit for Christmas. It's probably her favorite gift. Makes me happy. It's a cute girly line that promotes science and math!
8. The baby has been so active and kicks have been strong enough to probably feel from the outside but whenever DH and DD are around the baby is quiet. Lil stinker!
9. I had every intention to go to the gym these two weeks when my daughter was off school. But with htis cold and freezing weather, it's just not happening. Oh well. I'll be there next week with the new years resolutioners.
10. I feel like I'm getting so big and i have 4 months to go!
I'm posting and then going back to read incase the kids wake up early.
1. We found out we're having a girl on Saturday! (Haven't yet posted in the gender thread.) We're so excited!
2. I'm so glad we chose the name we did. My dad and my godmother started crying when we announced it (she's named loosely after them).
3. I started priming the nursery this morning!
4. Being back at work the day after a 12hr drive sucks.
5. It took 5min after our gender reveal for mil to start talking about bil's wedding. The 9th can't be here soon enough!
6. I love my husband. Christmas morning he rolled over and adked, "How's mom doing? " I started crying happy tears.
7. When we took out the shower surround we found out they'd taken out the whole window and caulked just the exterior pane of glass back in so they wouldn't have to do any siding. They window guys can't replace it for another 4-6weeks. Uggggg.
8. Upstairs bathroom (minus shower) needs to be functional by Thursday for our new years eve party. No stress at all.
9. I love/hate meal planning. Hate all the work and staying up making food after the drive last night. Love my husband's texts today. Plus if I didn't it would be fend for yourself lunch/dinner every night. Lol
1. I'm spending NYE with my husband, niece & nephew, younger brother and his girlfriend. We're going bowling and then playing board games after. I'm excited to do something fun for the kids since they're mom is in prison and I question how much attention they actually get from their dad. 2. This mobile app is already pissing me off this morning. 3. I've got court today for work since we normally have it on Friday's, but this week is New Years Day. It's really throwing off my week. 4. I'm anxious to take down our Christmas tree since some of the furniture in our spare room/nursery will be moving into it's place. I want to get started on the nursery, but I'm going to hold out til January 1st since our tree is so pretty. 5. My mom is already trying to name this child, even though we don't know the sex. She's trying to push her religious agenda by wanting to name our child Noah. Uhh, No-ah how about you let us name our own kid? 6. I have never gotten an ingrown toenail in my life, but since being pregnant I get them constantly and they are horrible! Anyone else getting them too? 7. Also, this heartburn. A fricking Christmas cookie gave me intense heartburn yesterday. This kid better come out with a ton of hair! 8. I'm starting to feel more movement more constantly and I love it. I can't wait until the movement becomes stronger. 9. I got some great maternity shirts from Motherhood this weekend. I love them. My goal is to wear leggings and tunics/sweaters pretty much all my pregnancy so I don't have to wear real pants. 10. This lady I work with, who has a reputation for being incredibly obnoxious and offensive, said to me today as soon I walked into the meeting "Do you know if you're having a boy or a girl yet?" and followed my bump with her eyes the entire way until I sat down. Then later in the meeting she asked me how far along I am, and when I responded 18 weeks her eyes got huge and she said to me "Wow, you're REALLY showing!" I could have punched her in the throat. I'm not even that big yet!
1. Crying cause everyone seems to be feeling movement but me!! 2. Ready to eat. I packed me a great lunch and having breakfast for dinner tonight. My fave! 3. Sitting in my car trying to waste the hour of my lunch break. Bc I refuse to go back in a sec earlier. 4. Already ready for this week to be over and I didn't work yesterday and I don't have to work friday. 5. My hubby has been awesome. Back rubs, goimg out to get me food at any time of the day or night. Couldn't ask for better. 6. Nursery is all cleaned out and ready for baby stuff! Now just gotta decide what I want to do. 7. Why can't we just stay at home all day and nap, Netflix and eat? That should be a rule once you get pregnant 8. @TXmamatobe french fries! Yasss! My weakness 9. Trying to be better with money and eating at home and packing lunches till we get paid next. 10. 5 of my tt involved the word food or eating... geez I have a problem!
1. driving to visit family in Chicago tomorrow! Will take us 10hrs with preggo me and 21month old twins. Poor DH haha. 2. Excited because twins mentioned above haven't met some of the family we will see this weekend! 3. Also plan to look through my mom's geneology book- I love family names! 4. I'm so over this head cold! So is one of the twins. 5. This will probably be our last trip out of town until new baby arrives! 6. Just like last pregnancy, I am back up to my pre-preg weight at my 18 week appt! 7. DH is in major "nesting" mood. He wants to go through everything and clean up. I love it! I wish I had the energy to match him. 8. His favorite Christmas gift was a new Shark vacuum from his parents. Mine was chocolate peppermint bark. 9. I'm optimistic for 2016!! 10. Looking forward to AS on Jan 11th. Under 2 weeks!
Mama to Three Girls: Twins born March 2014 at 26 weeks due to preterm labor and our 37weeker born May 9th, 2016!
1. I have my A/S tomorrow, and I get paid!! Pretty excited! 2. Also had a normal check-up today, and my normal OB was booked, so I saw someone different, and loved her. I love my OB, but she's always rushed, and this one chatted with me a while and made me feel warm and fuzzy. 3. I asked dr. her advice on getting a doula, and she assured me it's not necessary at all (our hospital has a lot of midwives, and a nurse/midwife is assigned to you for your labor and acts as your advocate), and said it's totally just personal preference. We kept talking and I think she could tell I wasn't really into the doula idea, and she finally just admit that she really didn't think it was worth the money at all if I was comfortable with the doctors/nurses, which was nice to hear, since I've had some friends really pushing the idea of doulas on me lately, even though it doesn't seem like my style. 4. Pre-bump I was pretty anti-maternity clothes, just wanted to get the bare minimum and go for clothes I could wear after pregnancy (like loose sweaters). But my mom ruined this for me by getting me a few nice maternity tops, and it feels SO GOOD to be wearing new clothes that fit me, finally! I'm not even very big yet, so I'm worried I might end up buying a bunch more stuff. 5. Everyone else in my office is a dude between the age of 23-45, and they all (including my bosses) were so excited that left work early yesterday to see Star Wars so they can finally talk about it in the office. 6. Wondering a lot lately if there's a way I'll be able to cut my work to part-time (like 32ish hours/week) when baby comes - seems like it would make my life way better 7. Our friend visited us last week and brought us home made elk jerky from an elk that his dad hunted. It was one of the best things I've ever eaten (in my short-term memory anyway) and now I'm so sad it's gone. I think about it way too much, even though I think I'm not supposed to eat jerky, but whatever. 8. Ready for summer, but sadly have many more months of PNW wintery rain/constant cloud cover 9. So excited for the January/February TV premieres, specifically Broad City, Shameless... a bunch of other ones I can't think of right now 10. This is my first TTT. It's kind of hard to think of ten things.
1. Since finding out we are having another little boy, I feel like my nesting has begun. I told DH that I want to start getting out the baby clothes and figuring out what we need. He keeps telling me we have plenty of time but I don't feel that way LOL!
2. DS got a ton of toys for Christmas, it's making me even more grateful that this LO is a boy. I couldn't imagine having both boy and girl toys!!
3. My coworker is literally pounding on her keyboard when she types. Kills me!
4. I only had a three day work week this week! 2 days down 1 to go. Yay for paid holidays!!!
5. I love this warm weather we've been having in the north east! Keep it coming El Niño!
6. DS has not been to excited to go to sleep at night. He cries and cries but after 15 minutes he's out cold.
7. Transitioning him into a big boy bed is giving me tons of anxiety!
8. I have no motivation to work today.. Online shopping and the bump have my full attention!
9. I've been looking for a double stroller but I can't find anything that I like, that's within our budget..
10. DH has come up with a new name for this LO every other day. He has called him Elias, Bentley, Wesley, Maddox and the list goes on. He will then tell people we agreed on a name when we haven't seriously talked about it. Oh how annoys me...
1. I went to visit my best friend in PA overnight. It was fun, but it was SO COLD in their house. 2. I think I can feel my belly growing. Is that a thing? I've gotten so much bigger from last week! 3. My dogs get groomed on Thursday. I'm so happy, they're so furry they're starting to look like poodles instead of cocker spaniels. haha 4. My DH is leaving work late today and I REALLY want to go to the Chinese buffet. 5. If he doesn't get home soon I am going without him. That's how much I want Chinese food. 6. Christmas was great, but my MIL gave me a lot of stuff I don't want or need. Also gave me things I already have. It's the thought that counts and I'm thankful for that. I'm re-gifting some of it. 7. We announced baby's sex on Christmas. Everyone seems really excited about it, so that's good. 8. We are sharing baby's name until he is born. 9. It's finally cooling off and kinda starting to feel like winter and I'm bummed. I prefer the warmer weather. 10. My husband and I love our sons name, but we don't think other people will. My best friend seems to be fine with it, I forgot I told her a long time ago what we'd name our kid if we ever had a boy and she remembered!
Me: 31
DH: 29, SA - Great
Married: June 12,2011
TTC #1: 1/2014
Diagnosis: Hypothalamic Amenorrhea
Treatment: Clomid: 50mg, 100mg, 150mg - not successful and not monitored
1- had our anatomy scan today. Baby is healthy. We will open the card we have the tech to fill out with the sex on NYE. I'm so excited.
2- I've been leaning boy but after today thinking its a girl. Only 48 more hours to find out
3- we bought two boys outfits and 2 girls outfits today. I just needed to get my hands on something baby related after our scan. I'll return whatever we don't need
4- we are visiting a daycare tomorrow. It's highly recommended, had availability and locations all over the place. It's more expensive than all the other ones in our area but it's the one I would prefer. Hopefully DH agrees and we can lock this down.
5- the dress I bought from old navy for NYE won't be here on time was supposed to arrive 12/31 but now rescheduled for 1/2. Super sad.
6- I need a haircut and a mani. Going to squeeze those on before NYE.
7- I love DH but he is really driving me crazy this break. I wonder how I'll handle him 24/7 during maternity leave since he'll be out of school on summer break then too
8- we have a pizza on the way!!!
9- I broke down and called my mom on Xmas to say hi. We have been texting very sporadically since then. Not sure how I feel about it.
10- I miss Xmas. Everyone is so ready to push it along- movies and music starting on thanksgiving but done he day after Xmas it's still the holiday season and the ending is just so abrupt. People are even already throwing out their trees. I find it depressing.
1. I hate this new way to post GIFs and have started protesting against them by not posting them. I don't like it. 2. LO is a moving machine! I think she's going to come out a little swimming water baby like DD. 3. I'm shamefully eating Mickey D's tonight but have done really well before this with eating at home. 4. I have started having debilitating heartburn! I had to go home early last night bc of it. 5. I'm falling into the pressure to watch Making a Murderer. I have seen so many articles about it etc. DH and I started the first episode but fell asleep after 20 min. Not bc it was bad...we're just old. 6. My hair feels a bit thicker and I love it. 7. Since being pg I've gotten gray hairs...WTF. 8. DD will be gone for 3 days (with my IL's) I'm torn between being sad and excited I can sleep more than I'm normally able to. 9. I have rearranged all of my kitchen cabinets (I've gone through everything and donated a lot of stuff I don't use), I've cleaned out my bathroom cabinet (DH's side is next), I've cleaned out and donated toys in DD's toy box (made room for Christmas toys), I added the leaf to my kitchen table and moved the table to have buffet style seating, I dusted our movie collection and arranged it neatly in the credenza, took down all Christmas decorations...I think I'm beginning to really nest. 10. Recently found out we are having a girl so I'm not feeling the need to buy new stuff. I have so much since DD is only 2. I'm going to save up all the money I planned on spending (if it was a boy) and probably get the high dollar stroller or swing I want!
Been married since 2009. Unicornuate Uterus (yes I menstruate glitter) Several MCs DD born 2013 (our miracle "you can't have babies" baby!)
1. My mom bought LO a few baby things for Christmas... A little toy and a few onsies with hats and scratch mittens. I forgot how tiny a newborn is! Having the clothes in my hands makes it so much more real! 2. Speaking of my Mom...she had a colonoscopy done today. There is a family history of colon cancer and they found a polyp. Dr is confident that it's benign but it's still so scary. I'm praying everything is ok. 3. I'm going to set an alarm to go to Crossfit tomorrow morning at 5:30. We'll see if I make it 4. DD was super sick on Christmas Eve/day. She had a 104 degree fever. Sometimes as a parent you think you've encountered all situations with your kid, but then something new (sickness or situation) and you realize you know nothing! Having kids is a humbling experience. 5. Christmas this year felt the least Christmassy it's ever felt for me. The weather was warm and rainy (in the northeast) and I'm not in my own home. It was weird, but we still had a good time. 6. Someone mentioned pancakes and I need them now. 7. I'm still jonesin for burgers, but carbs are great too. I don't discriminate when it comes to food. 8. H is trying to eat healthy. I'm trying to eat healthy too, but I feel like a closet eater when I sneak in bites of dill pickle chips or cookies. 9. I started working part time (retail) and was on my feet for 6 hours the other day. I thought I'd be ok...I was wearing sneakers...but holy smokes. My dogs were barking. 10. Ten things was hard to do today. Maybe we can make it a choice depending on the day and how much we want to share...like some days it can be 10 things or 3 things? Thoughts!? We can still call it TTT since it still applies
AdorkablePixie
same with me - my MIL gave me several things she has given me in the last year. I will use them all eventually, so I will probably keep them. Maybe I will give away the cute set of merino wool socks - she gave me a nice set 3 months ago for my birthday. and I'm always warm anyway
Mama to Three Girls: Twins born March 2014 at 26 weeks due to preterm labor and our 37weeker born May 9th, 2016!
1. I took a long nap and binge watched some Netflix today. It was much overdue. 2. My appointment today was with my favorite midwife at the birthing center. I don't get a choice in who is there when I deliver, but I really hope it's her. 3. I'm trying to be super crafty for LO and I want to crochet her a blanket in her nursery colors. Too bad I'm so indecisive and cannot for the life of me pick a blanket pattern. 4. My step sister is getting rid of all her baby toys, some clothes she has left, and the her glider (practically in new condition) and giving it to us. I'm pretty excited bc MIL was going to buy the glider, but now that we're getting it free she's probably going to buy our crib. Now all we have to buy in terms of furniture is the dresser. Yay for saving money! 5. I almost cried at the animal shelter today when renewing our dogs tags. While we were there a lost dog got turned in and I felt so bad bc it was scared and shaking. This is why I told DH before we went in that I should probably wait in the car. 6. Bc of my nap today I'm now going to end up being awake super late and it's completely going to throw off my schedule. 7. I really wanted pizza tonight and was denied. The food I got was good, but it wasn't pizza. DH just still doesn't understand sometimes. 8. DH has been absolutely adorable since he found out we were having a girl. We've already picked her name and he spent a good amount of time coming up with nicknames for her. Yesterday when we were at the mall seeing Star Wars we went to the Disney store after bc he wanted to see all the cute baby clothes/costumes we're going to get her. He also now talks to her all the time. 9. We finally get some decent weather this weekend which is good bc this was also the last chance for us to go to Disney before our passes expire. We're actually going this time without much pouting on DH's part as he wants to go and get LO a mouse ear hat since we decided on a name. 10. My dog has been super clingy with me lately. I think he's finally catching on to this whole baby thing.
1. Today I finally told work. So glad that I don't have to hide it anymore. Everyone who knows already is excited. 2. A/S is next Thursday! 3. DH was suppose to transfer positions and start his new job next week but things have changed and he can't start until the 11th- meaning he now has to call out next Thursday to be able to attend A/S. SO he is calling out his 2nd to last day of his old job and 7 days into the new year he's already using a PTO day. Thanks a lot people who screwed him! 4. We are hosting NYE party this year. Wish me luck! lol 5. We cleaned out the spare bedroom this past weekend and only have the day bed in there. We will sell the day bed after new years so my brother can crash there after the NYE party. 6. We have picked out the color we are painting the nursery. I can't wait to start painting. We already have the crib and dresser/changing table so we can set those up. 7. Found out that a new season of My 600lb. Life starts next Wednesday. Don't know why but that show is so interesting to us. 8. We have made planter beds and tonight at dollar tree they have seeds 4/$1! And even better the cashier was lazy and only rang us up for 8. 9. Pregnancy milestone today- nips started leaking after stimulation. My body is getting ready to BF! 10. Im SO ready to feel this little girl kick. I would be happy with a flutter- gimme something!
1) We had our A/S yesterday and it's a little girl!! Evelyn Leia, and she really liked showing us her butt.
2) I'm so glad Christmas is over. Don't get me wrong, I like my family but I seem to have lost tolerance for them during pregnancy so it was more stressful than not.
3) One of the reasons family is annoying me is other than my Aunt (who is wonderful wonderful wonderful) all the other women are giving me the whole 'it wasn't like that when I was pregnant" crap. My grandma kept saying they never told her to limit caffeine or alcohol when she was pregnant. I wanted to shout at her that of course not, that was 55 years ago, they've learned a lot since then. My Mom keeps freaking out about the cost of the nursery furniture. It's not like she's paying. We're getting a 2nd hand crib that was offered to us for free but we have to pay for it because it's coming from one of my hubby's employees but still $50 instead of $250? yes please. Also the dresser we're looking at is $300- which is not bad. Seriously Mom, stop freaking out it's not like you're buying it.
4) I used to dance so naturally everyone assumes I'm going to want Evelyn to dance but I don't. Honestly, I'd rather her find something else not dance related. Dancers are nasty to each other and many (not all) dance mom's are horrible. I don't want that for my daughter. I'm worried my Dad is going to try to pressure us to put her in dance because now HE dances - which is a whole other level of irritation for me.
5) We now have 2 pieces of furniture in the nursery, a rocking chair and a bookshelf. Both were just moved from other rooms. Yay for saving money.
6) It's been raining for the last week and a half. I'm done. Especially because one of my dogs, who can't be crated because he always escapes- trust me we tried everything- if it rains decides he should go potty in the house. Doesn't matter how long we shove him outside for. He still goes in the house. It's pissing me off.
7) Obviously I'm far more irritated about things than I realized.
8) Hubby bought me Lego Dimensions for Christmas. I want to go home and play it.
9) I'm down to about a day's worth of work left before I get more days off. Yay.
10) We sold the left over flooring from our house. YAY! We're slowly starting to get rid of all the leftovers from remodeling.
1. My daughter's favorite time to stretch/move/kick isn't when I'm sleeping (yet), but when I'm eating something. It's super weird and slightly nauseating to be full from dinner (regardless of how little I eat), and at the same time have her doing acrobatics in there. 2. A/S to confirm the sex and check up on other stuff is Tuesday! I'm super excited. 3. My MIL passed away on Monday, and I spent last night working on her obituary. I hope it does her justice. Also, I miss her. She was a wonderful grandmother to my nieces, and would have been equally as wonderful to Emily. 4. My mom came up here a few hours before MIL passed and took care of us and watched everyone's kids so we could focus on MIL, and came back yesterday and cleaned the kitchen/living area and cooked dinner so we wouldn't have to. I'm so grateful to have her. 5. On the bright side, my morning sickness finally seems to be backing off! I'm still somewhat icky sometimes, but it's nowhere near as debilitating as it was. 6. 20 weeks on the nose today. Halfway there! 7. I've been putting off taking bump pics. I should probably get on that, as I am pretty obviously pregnant at this point. 8. My dog is so sweet. All she wants to do is snuggle (when she isn't playing with the other dog we have here). She's usually the one who finally drags me to bed at the end of the night so she can hide under the covers next to me. 9. Now that I'm not working, I need to find something to do besides baby prep to stay busy with. Normally I'd work on the writing project I've been doing over the last couple of years, but I'm so scatterbrained from the pregnancy and all. I need something else to focus on. 10. My brother-in-law got me into all of these Food Network cooking shows over the holiday. I don't even like reality tv, but now I'm obsessed! Currently going through the Netflix supply of Chopped and Throwdown with Bobby Flay...I really want to eat some of these things they are making. Also, am still too tired to cook anything too complicated, but now I actually miss it.
@MrsKtobe09I'm really sorry about your MIL, and have every bit of confidence the obituary you are writing will reflect her wonderfully. The fact that you are worried about it shows just how much you care, and I'm sure everyone will be able to see what an amazing woman she was through it.
Also, hats off to your mom. Stepping in and helping where needed during a difficult time is a trait of a truly compassionate person, and I'm glad 'Emily' will have her there. Between your family, you will be able to tell her how special you MIL was.
Re: Ten Things!
10. Fries. Just fries.
Also, going to try that chia pudding. How long should it soak?
I usually soak it for least 1-2 hours, but it can be made a day or so in advance, too. I put mine in a mason jar and shake it at least once while it's in the fridge. I wish I could remember the exact ratio of milk/chia seeds, but you will find a consistency that you like. I tend to like mine a little more on the soupy side.
2.) I am spending the day cooking. I've got a pot of ham and beans on and just finished making a blueberry croissant bake for breakfast.
3.) My beagle is becoming more aware of the baby. She rests her head on him all the time.
4.) I'm starting to be able to tell the difference between my little guy's movements. I.e. headbutts from kicks.
5.) Official name is Cole Gordon [our last name] I love it.
6.) H said we are having sparkling cider and chocolate covered strawberries for NYE. Love him.
7.) All I've been wanting lately is fried chicken.
8.) We have officially decided that I won't go back to work after Cole is born. I'll just focus on school and getting my teaching degree.
9.) My back has been killing me lately.
10.) I feel like I just can't focus on anything lately!
2. I have this week off babysitting. I'm going to take this opportunity to catch up on my housework
3. I gave my grandma a framed photo of her and my grandpa for Christmas. She's not an emotional person, but I could tell it really hit her in the feels and naturally I cried when she opened it. I'm so glad she liked it
4. Sex reveal party on Sunday
5. I'm so behind on DS#2's baby book...I feel like that should earn me a bad mom award
6. I'm being tricky on the dessert for the party. My sister and I decided to make white cupcakes, filled with pink and frosted blue. Or possibly the other way around. We haven't 100% decided yet lol but either way, it could be right or wrong and no one will know but us lol
7. My MIL is keeping the boys Thursday night
8. I'm having trouble coming up with these today...which is unusual.
9. Starting potty training next week...officially. DS has been wanting to use the potty, but not consistently, so we'll see how it goes!
10. I'm so ready for May!!!! I wanna meet our new baby!!!!
Now we can each have our own
11. Edited because of my phone's screwed up autocorrect. Anyone know if I can reset that on a Samsung to get a clean slate?
2. As an added bonus to the trip, DD had been sleeping in later than usual because she's still adjusting from west coast time. Yay
9. I guess it's Taco Bell for lunch
10. Go away, rain. I feel like it has rained nonstop this December.
2. I'm crazy hungry today, I even bright extra snacks to work and they are almost gone. I wanted to eat my lunch an hour ago but then I would have nothing later
3. It finally snowed!!! I love snow!!!
4. My dogs love snow!!!
5. My car works great in the snow!!!
6. DH's truck needs new brakes so that's no fun, but we now have a lunch date Thursday because I'm taking it on for him
7. A consultant scheduled a conference call today to discuss the permit I'm working on... It lasted 5 minutes. It took longer to sign into the can than to actually discuss things
8. DH and I must be crazy because we decided to go grocery shopping during the snow storm last night
9. Did I mention I was hungry????
10. I wore snow boots to work today because I knew I had other shoes to change into... Unfortunately I forgot that my pants are too short to wear regular shoes with. Oh well, I will blame my fashion choices on being an engineer
2. We went to see Star Wars on Saturday and the baby loved it. Or hated it. Either way he moved around the ENTIRE time which was fun. I love that feeling.
3. I am slightly...under-motivated...at work this week so I was looking back through old threads on this board, before I joined. It was fun and filled in a few blanks
Ugh.
7. Ok, clearly #6 should have been saved for my Twatwaffle of the day
Lol
10. Sleep sounds so wonderful right now.
That should be a rule once you get pregnant
8. @TXmamatobe french fries! Yasss! My weakness
9. Trying to be better with money and eating at home and packing lunches till we get paid next.
10. 5 of my tt involved the word food or eating... geez I have a problem!
Mama to Three Girls:
Twins born March 2014 at 26 weeks due to preterm labor
and our 37weeker born May 9th, 2016!
6. Wondering a lot lately if there's a way I'll be able to cut my work to part-time (like 32ish hours/week) when baby comes - seems like it would make my life way better
8. Ready for summer, but sadly have many more months of PNW wintery rain/constant cloud cover
9. So excited for the January/February TV premieres, specifically Broad City, Shameless... a bunch of other ones I can't think of right now
10. This is my first TTT. It's kind of hard to think of ten things.

3. My dogs get groomed on Thursday. I'm so happy, they're so furry they're starting to look like poodles instead of cocker spaniels. haha

9/15/2015: BFP HCG - 400, 9/17/2015: HCG - 827, 9/21/2015 - HCG 3,327!2- I've been leaning boy but after today thinking its a girl.
5- the dress I bought from old navy for NYE won't be here on time
6- I need a haircut and a mani.
Everyone is so ready to push it along- movies and music starting on thanksgiving but done he day after Xmas
Unicornuate Uterus (yes I menstruate glitter)
Several MCs
DD born 2013 (our miracle "you can't have babies" baby!)
We'll see if I make it
Mama to Three Girls:
Twins born March 2014 at 26 weeks due to preterm labor
and our 37weeker born May 9th, 2016!
Wish me luck! lol
Also, hats off to your mom. Stepping in and helping where needed during a difficult time is a trait of a truly compassionate person, and I'm glad 'Emily' will have her there. Between your family, you will be able to tell her how special you MIL was.
