Re: The Night Owl Thread

  • Heart burn sucks!! I just want to sleep!! Where the hell are my tums? DH is fast asleep and I don't want to turn on the lights and wake him up but this momma to be is NOT happy right now.

Yeah my tums live on my nightstand now so i don't have to get out of bed when I need them, since I seem to need them almost every night.

It's 3.30am here and I woke up with a serious dry throat. But two hours ago, lol....

I woke up screaming in pain which sent our two cats flying off the bed and DH waking up in panic because he thought something terrible had happend...
But I just experienced my first extreme cramp down my calf that lasted about 15 minutes with him trying to rub it out and me screaming my head off. Lol.

Now, two hours later I can still feel the remains of it & its left me wondering if I have actually had muscle cramp ever before because wow. That was next level.

OMG I woke up with a Charlie horse (cramp) on my left leg!!! That sh!t hurt so bad. I too woke up DH I couldn't even stretch to save my life it hurt so bad. DH had to do it for me. I felt soar for a day or two. Intense! Lol

  • We're visiting my folks this weekend and staying at a hotel tonight. I learned my lesson years ago about staying at their house (it's almost 80° in there year round, no joke). I woke up over an hour ago because someone above us was running in their room. At 3am. People are crazy, y'all. DH told the front desk, and the runner started chilling out, but they're still up there stomping around occasionally. I guess that's better than constant running.
  • DH is taking my SIL to airport so she can catch an early morning flight out. It's 3.26am and I doubt I'll get back to sleep before his return. Time to raid the fridge!
  • spent most of last night awake. Stayed on my sisters fold out bed so it was never going to be an epic nights sleep, but anyway . . . DH decided to get stupidx100 drunk last night and got up every hour to puke. The cat brought in a skwarking bird at about 4.30am and on top of it, the dog woke up for a vomit around 5.30am. Woe is me today and i have to drive 4 hours back home becuase of course DH is totally written off : (
  • Ugh I'm wide awake at 3am. Eating. What else is there to do? I can't get comfortable AT. ALL. I've already been on the couch but then baby decides it's time for mommy to eat. So leftover pizza it is!

  • Same here @oceanchild- my first pregnancy I didn't have all these issues in the third trimester. I'm hoping that's a good sign for me... No full on vomiting yet but I'm back to being nauseous after every meal because little man thinks it's okay to do karate on all my vital organs...

  • Currently 5:45 here, anyother day I'd probably just accept that I'm awake at this point and start getting ready for work with plenty of time to spare. The past two nights I've slept pretty darn good, and of course I wake up early on my day off...I don't even have the excuse of DH going to work being the reason I'm awake because he wouldn't be waking up till 6 anyways...pregnancy sucks sometimes.

  • 4.30am and I'm so hungry but can't figure out what to eat. And it's SO HOT. I hate summer. :(:(:(
  • So, I am taking unisom, and I no longer wake up from heartburn or the need to pee. But I still can't fall asleep to begin with. Tired. Lol. We all chant *tired, so tired..*
  • I know it sounds silly but have any of you tried an adult coloring book? I got one for my mom she suffers from insomnia and coloring an hour before bed helps relax her so she doesn't have to take medicine anymore. Studies have shown that coloring for adults is like meditation. Just thought I'd put it out there if anyone wanted to try it. I color all the time always have and I love the new books they have out.
I don't have any issues falling asleep or staying asleep my problem is waking up.
  • 2 am and haven't been able to fall asleep. Ds just crawled into bed with us so now I am hoping he will settle enough I can get him back in his own bed. Not only do I have to pee but I keep getting restless leg tingling all over my body. Any solutions it is driving me nuts?!
  • I fell asleep for a few hours and woke up with heartburn. But I can't find my tums!! This blows :'(

Between my birthday and the holidays I'm up to like 8 of the coloring books. They are really good for shutting off your brain, because you are thinking about the coloring and not other stuff. But I find they don't hold my attention for terribly long. The best time I've had with them was when I brought them to my book club and we all used them together.
  • Well last night was even worse.  I fell asleep by 8, woke up at 2.  Never really fell back asleep.  So glad I got an extra 1/2 hour of lounge time, since I get to work in the city today and not out of town.  But I'm still exhausted!

  • Been at my sisters all week who has four kids, youngest 5 months. He's in the room next to me, and up 3 times a night... Worst thing is she lets him cry up to an hour before getting him. Wtf-I can hear
Him! My dd1 slept through night consistently at 7 weeks. Hopefully my second doesn't give me a run for my money.. I'm getting totally worried about being able to do it. Baby was crying 11-1145 and apparently fireworks are the thing for midnight around here because now I hear them. Up at 4 for our flight home, and I'm still excited about it.. This twin bed this week blows!
  • First all-nighter of 2016! Woohoo!! (??) Soooo sick right now! Up at 1am with acid reflux, tried sleeping upright in our recliner, went back to bed at 2, up again at 3 feeling even worse. This absolutely stinks. And now little lady is flip-flopping around, sending waves of nausea and heartburn with each kick. Normally I love to feel her dance around. Baby, you've got to settle down for Mommy!!

  • Yes! I did have two very hairy babies with two heartburn-filled pregnancies...I totally buy that tale!! Sorry you're sleepless, too! Now 5:50am here (!!!) Soon the kids will be up.
  • We must be in the same time zone. My littles are early risers too – if I don't hear the first one waking the second one up in the next ten minutes, I'll be mildly shocked; he doesn't usually sleep past 6.

  • I went back to bed just after 7am, and DH got up to go to the bathroom. When he got back to bed, I told him about my sleepless night, and he said he'd get up with the boys. So of course they slept in until 8:30. I slept another 1.5 hours though. This morning I still feel exactly the same as I did all night. Come on, 2016. You can do better!!
  • 4am and I've got a sore throat. It'll probably get better when I'm not lying down in a cold room, but until then, bummer. At least DH and DS are still soundly sleeping.
  • Hope you feel better @bethanynaom
