This kid is going to kick a hole in my side

I can't even begin to tell you how hard this little girl is trying to break out of me!! She is brutal... The kicks, the jabs, the heel kicks to my pelvic bones- I swear I have internal bruising. Between that and the non stop somersault, I am in a world of hurt and nausea I can't even tolerate.

Re: This kid is going to kick a hole in my side

  • See I'd like to think I'd trade places... My baby barely moves and is so quiet it freaks me out so much. I hear the more active ones are healthier too, according to my baby book. Hang in there! It'll be over soon enough!

  • Hang in there girl, my little girl is doing the same. She kicks very high, not in the back or anything, but I get lots of kicks up toward my ribs. She moves so much! I kind of love it though, aside from when it makes me lose sleep ahha.
  • I've been getting hard kicks to the ribs for over a month now. It's literally knocks the wind out of me!! Hang in there! We don't have much longer!
  • @starsinnight My friend had a very very quiet baby, didn't change anything!  He's a healthy one year old. :)  Maybe it'll mean he/she will be less fussy! lol.

I'm highly concerned for myself... Baby girl is most active around midnight/1am... uh no.  That's not gonna work for me.  I need to be sleeping at that time.  I'm scared once she's here she's going to still be used to that!

  • OMG! My baby is doing the same thing! In fact, I told my sister just last week that I feel like I have one huge bruise on the inside! I'm so over it! I guess it is good to know he is doing ok, since there's all this movement.  But its so annoying and painful.  Counting down the weeks now...

  • My baby is sooo low and has mastered the art of kicking me in the crotch. I still have 8 weeks :'(
  • @Lola2o1 mine has been kicking me in the crotch and ribs simultaneously for months. It sucks.

  • I think the only time this baby boy doesn't move is when I'm around my mom.  She so badly wants to feel him move and he's just a jerk about it.  (We were at the nail salon and as soon as she couldn't reach over because her nails were being done, he started bouncing around.)  Other than that, he moves all day and night.  Aren't they supposed to sleep at some point?  I'm happy he's active and it's reassuring that he's okay but a break from the full body movement every now and then would be okay.

  • I feel for those who don't feel a lot of movement- it would probably make me worry as well. However, this child is off the chain! She is awake every time I wake up at night and stays super active almost the entire time I am at work (aside from the 'nap' she takes between 10am and noon). As soon as I get a chance to 'rest' when I am at home she starts bouncing off the walls. She might calm down around 9:30 or so, but usually she's jabbing me long past the time if all asleep. She feels huge- she can knock my breath away and power stomp my crotch at the same time- yet she must have plenty of room because she rolls around and makes me want to puke. I feel like I'm constantly on a really rough and nauseating roller coaster. 8 weeks left. (Scheduled c-section) and I'm counting the days!! I almost wish there was a chance for her to make her debut a week or so early, but since the other two had to be forcefully evicted, I don't see that happening... Guess I just gotta stick it out.
  • @starsinnight My first was also very quiet and not a big mover/kicker. He's a very healthy (and calm/laid back) 1.5 year old . He was an easy newborn too. This one is waay more active... It'll be interesting to see if that correlates with personality differences between the two.

I've got the same situation.  My first was super chill, laid back and an easy newborn.  And now this one has been kicking so much and moving so much its painful!  I'm curious, like you, to see if it will correlate with personality.
