Done breastfeeding?

With school it seems I'll only be feeding my son at night because I can't produce enough anymore unless it stops altogether. I've tried everything. Anyone else? What has your experience been like?

I've slowly weaned as well. Supply started drying up with stress and work. It was hard to find consistent times to pump. Also, my right breast stopped responding to the pump and it would take 30 minutes even when full to start getting anything out of it. I'm still feeding in morning, one pump or feed during day, and at night. I've also been a human pacifier quite a bit during this awful 4th leap. She's getting nutrients from breastfeeding she wouldn't get from formula, and nutrients from formula she wouldn't get from me, so I'm good with it.

  • I was EBF'ing up until early December and then I started weaning him. I'm down to 2 BF's a day! It all happened so quickly! I was planning to keep the 1st and last feeds, but he started refusing the last. So now I only BF for the first two feeds of the day. I started to have post-weaning Blues (which I didn't even know was a thing). Apparently if you wean too quickly, hormones get all wacky as prolactin and oxytocin decreases and it can cause an effect similar to the baby blues. I was super emotional over the week leading up to Christmas, but hopefully on the upswing now. Good luck and take it slow!
  • My plan 3 weeks ago was to stop...but my baby point blank refuses the bottle. She even went 8hours whilst i was away (i hoped if i wasnt there shed take it and it was the first time id left) rather than take! Breastfeeding mama til the end haha
  • Since I have till the 4th off, I decided I was going to make one last ditch effort to get my supply back up. I'm taking fenugreek and will be making lactation cookies tomorrow and am pushing water. If I can't get it back up to where it was, then I'm just going to pump twice at work like normal and breastfeed in the morning and night and supplement as needed with formula until my supply runs out; no more drastic measures. Like PP's, my supply has steadily dropped since going back to work and it's caused me ridiculous stress and anxiety. I exclusively breastfed until LO was almost three months, and my goal was 6 months. I'm disappointed but I can't kill myself any longer because of it!
  • @cait040415 hugs to you! It's stories like yours that make me so angry with American maternity leave policies. It's so unfair to our kids that we can't be home for a year like in other countries.

  • I had latch issues blah blah started eping was doing great back at work even stocking a bag extra in freezer at the end of the week. He eats 30 oz a day I was making 34 or more. Two weeks ago I got a fever out of no where supply hit big time. Now I was just getting back to 30 oz a day and I got hit again with a fever yesterday I pumped only 21 oz. I know it's more than some get but I'm still bummed out that I'm no longer enough for him we still have some frozen but we will see. I often want to give up let myself dry up. After not being able to bf I was like well at least I can ep now I can't even do that enough.
  • I'm back at work too, but thankfully my supply hasn't dropped bc I feed on demand. I work remote. But do my work schedule I have not been able to pump or keep a consistent pump schedule? So i supplement with formula, when I need some me time for an 1-2h and it happens to fall into his feeding schedule. I use to stress about it. But it wasn't worth obsessing over it. So if I remember to pump I will? If not que sera sera
