Severe morning sickness

Has anyone had to deal with severe morning sickness? Ive been taking nausea tablets but im still unable to do anything. Its affecting my life so much and i don't know what else i can do.

Re: Severe morning sickness

  • There are a lot of options. The biggest thing is to communicate with your OB about these issues. He can up your dosage, or look into other options.

I don't actually throw up, but my nausea makes me bed ridden. I understand, and I'm sorry. I hope you get relief in your second tri!

  • I've been in and out of the hospital for dehydration pretty much this whole time. I go in every other day for an IV and for tests to make sure I am getting everything I need. Talk to your OB and see if maybe he can prescribe a different medication for nasuesa I've heard sometimes that helps. Other than that welcome to pregnancy. It's the most beautiful and awful thing all at once!

Thank you, ill definitely talk to the doctor. Just becoming horrible as i have a toddler and housework to do and unable to stand up long enough to do anything.

And thank you, its definitely taking its toll on me more then my first pregnancy!
  • I'm 13 weeks and have been the same way! I have been hospitalized more than once and it's not fun, my sickness has made me stay in bed for days. There's really nothing you can do from my expierence, take your meds and pray it gets better. Zofran 8mg is the best I have been prescribed by my obgyn along with a Phenergan cream to rub on my wrist. Anything you can stomach stick with it. For me it was Popsicles and pickles as gross as that sounds right now. I lost about 10 pounds from week 6 to now & Visit the doctor weekly.. it's miserable.. I hope it gets better, hang In there!! Just know you are not alone!!

I feel ya! I also have a toddler and haven't done any of the holiday related activities and chores that I planned, been bed ridden most of the days, especially evenings. Currently my toddler and I are also sick! My husband has been able to help out a lot, but he is tired and grumpy and wants to strangle me. Some days have been better than others. Like today I actually feel ok, less nauseated and was able to wash the kitchen floor and vacuum. I just cannot wait until 2nd trimester to hopefully get some relief, right now I'm almost 10 weeks. You can make it through, hang in there hon. A lot of us are in the exact same boat.
  • I was sick 10+ times a day until my doctor put me on Diclegis. Unfortunately, at 28 weeks I still have MS but I still take the medicine. It seriously helps. There's a condition though that can't be medicated and it's super insane MS. I don't know anything about it though.
  • I had morning sickness during my first pregnancy. Someone recommended peppermints or maybe I read it online. It didn't help 100% but it did help some.
  • I don't actually get sick but feel nauseous pretty much all day and night. Drinking lemon ginger tea with honey helps me a lot. Peppermint gum and hard candies help too.
