breastfeeding as contraception?

is anyone else using this as a form of contraception?
is it true you can't get get pregnant until you've had a period after having baby? I'm 9 weeks and still haven't had a period
I started taking the mini pill the other day but then forgot to take it the next few days and just started taking it again, I'm so bad at remembering to take it so wondering(praying) if breastfeeding will kinda cover me

I wouldn't count on breastfeeding to cover you. Though I have already had 2 periods (my cycle has always been like clockwork). I am 10 weeks post partum. I had to set an alarm on my phone to remind me to take my pill. If it is enough now, it may not be enough when you start introducing solids and nursing less often. I wouldn't chance it quite yet. We want our kids to be close together, but not quite that close.

I have an alarm set also but if I'm not home or busy with baby, I turn the alarm off and forget to take it. I'm restarting it again today I definetly don't want another any time soon!
