Any hope to recover milk supply??

I either had a stomach bug or bad reaction to fenugreek on Monday, and since then my milk supply has steadily dwindled. I've currently been pumping for about 10 minutes and I don't even have an ounce from both sides. My boobs feel full, but no luck even with massage.

Is there any hope to bringing my supply back up?? I've been EP since week one.

Try honest co lactation plus, a couple of those at night and by the next morning I can usually pump 6+ from each... Also try a hot shower or a hot pad and then pump, it can help release the milk as well

Eta: crap that has fenugreek in it

  • Yes, of course! Supply goes up and down. Pump after every feed for a couple days, hydrate and keep that baby on that breast. He/she will have to really work at it and may get frustrated or nurse to sleep a lot Bc of the slow flow. Let it happen. Trust your body and baby to do their job!
  • I'm so glad someone wrote ab this. I have been noticing a decrease in my supply. Super frustrating. Hoping all the tricks work. I may try the lactation pills too. :|
  • Gatorade and oatmeal! Whenever my supply seems less than usual, I drink a Gatorade and eat a bowl of instant oatmeal. Works every time! That and staying super hydrated.
  • And fat! I know you girls may not want to hear this because we are all trying to lose weight now but it works. When I am desperate to fill up two bottles I eat some Thai food with pork or duck. I don't really eat meet but it works.

I have the honest pills but I never took more then one a night... I have to try taking more. How many do you pop @SarahEmmons330 ?

If I am looking to increase supply (didn't drink enough fluids the day before) I take two a day, once in the morning and once before bed. For everyday maintenance I just take one in the morning with my vitamins and BCP. I can tell a difference when I miss them for a couple of days!

They put fennel in it to counteract the fenugreek. Fennel is good for the digestive system, so the idea is to get the benefit from the fenugreek without it causing tummy issues. OP might be worth a try, I used it and it worked for me.

  • I use to get about 10oz with each pumping session (every 4 hrs), then out of no where, my supply dropped to about 4oz total. I chugged a bunch of water and drank Mothers Milk Tea (which I bought at Sprouts), but im sure you can get it anywhere). Anyways, in just 24 hours after drinking all the water and 2 servings of the tea, my milk supply was back to normal. Hope that helps!
