Succenturiate Placental Lobe

Has anyone else been diagnosed with this? I am 36 weeks and 5 days... I was JUST told at my appointment yesterday that I have this. Apparently it's not a big deal if they are aware of it, but of course as a FTM this still makes me nervous!!! According to a medical journal this happens to TWO out of 1,000 pregnancies :(.

    I do not have this, but if my doctors aren't going to worry about it, I wouldn't either. Ask them questions obviously, and educate yourself, but I wouldn't start fretting about it now.

    I had that with my first pregnancy. Didn't cause any issues. Only thing is doctor needs to make sure that both lobes come out when the placenta is delivered. Mine was no problem at all and never would have known I had it if ultrasound didn't happend late in pregnancy.
