Hip pain

Am I the only one?
Dude... My butt, hips, and groin area have gotten incredibly stiff and sore. I was gifted monthly prenatal massages a couple months back and I've been walking a bit for exercise (although I'm sure I should be doing more) but neither seem to be helping. I always thought pregnant women don't start to waddle until the third trimester when they have significant bumps. I have a bump but it still seems too soon for me to be waddle walking like I've started to. Any suggestions of how to remedy this problem? Or is it just a thing to tough out? I've been considering finding a chiropractor. Idk what else to do.

Re: Hip pain

  • I have the same problem and have always had sciatica problems. I started seeing a chiropractor and he said my hips aren't evenly aligned so he gave me an insert for my left shoe. It has helped tremendously! I do a lot of walking and standing at work and walking didn't help much especially at night when it was time to lay down. I would say see a chiropractor, they will give you good advice as well as do massage if they believe it will help! Good luck

  • My hips crack and hurt when I get up. I'm glad I'm not the only one. 19 weeks today and hip pain came up as one of the symptoms.

I do this pose: https://www.yogajournal.com/article/beginners/learn-malasana/ (the first one pictured) a few times per day and it really helps. If you don't have the balance at first, hold onto something as you lower yourself, then as you get used to it, incorporate the arms. I felt like you do last pregnancy until I started doing this. This time, I started deep squats and poses from the beginning.
  • Thanks @kbrands7 I'm traveling this weekend and I'm sure I'll get stiff on the plane rides. Maybe these poses will help me out. And perhaps I need to add a yoga class to my schedule (my H swears I'm the most expensive pregnant person lol).

  • I have it now and I had it last pregnancy as well. Stretching really helped me - I do it in the morning and a little before bedtime and I can really tell a difference!

  • No hip pain but I have a small waddle. And getting up and down takes alot effort. That worries for how bad third is going to be. Stretching anything right now helps tremendously, so try to do so once a day at least. Maybe why no hip pain despite the waddle.
