Daddy reveal!! Help!!!

Help please! I'm wanting to reveal the gender of our baby to daddy on Valentine's day. I want to give him an actual gift but also something that tells him the gender.

We have a 5 year old little girl, we had a stillborn daughter in April, and he has been so nervous this entire pregnancy that it almost keeps him from enjoying the thought of having another baby. I want it to be fun and uplifting for him. Any ideas??? :)

Re: Daddy reveal!! Help!!!

  • TBH, it might be better if you ask him what he wants. If you surprise him, it might bring up past trauma. I've learned from my past experience surprising hubs that just because I think i'm being creative and sweet and totally awesome (because I am), it may not be the best way to communicate to my man. But you know your husband best, so I wish you luck with however you decide to do it!

  • Do you know the sex yet?
  • Dude, I just want to get past Christmas!

But maybe make a valentines card/ poem about his daughter or son for him.

I know my dh will be with me when we go to find out the anatomy, as it's part of a regular appointment. So I don't really get to surprise him or be cute.
  • I'm expecting to find out on the phone when they call with my blood test results so I'd like to think of something creative, too. But since it could be next week and between holidays and travel will be a crazy time, I'm not sure what/how.
  • Change your screen name.

Also, my DH would be mad if I withheld that information for anything longer than an hour.
    Thank God for Raid.

  • Do it with cake! Bake a cake, use pink or pink or blue food coloring, frost it up, and let him find out by cutting into the cake. Or have it made at a bakery if you have the same weird food/cooking aversions I'm having during pregnancy. Ugh.

Everything is better with cake, right?  :)
