Migraines

I had occasional migraines prior to this pregnancy, but now i get them once or twice a week. Tylenol seems to work, but as soon as the dosage wears off the migraine is back. Anyone else struggle with this? Did you uncover the cause or something that helps?

    I am getting them as well.  Unfortunately for me, tylenol doesn't help at all.  I have been putting ice packs on my head and over my eyes - that seems to give me some relief.  Good Luck!!

    I never had them before getting pregnant, and now I get one or two a week. Usually I start drinking a lot of water and take some Tylenol and that helps. Sometimes a little caffeine. I hope you start feeling better soon!

    I used to get them all the time too. My first eight weeks of pregnancy I didnt get a single one so I was hoping the myth of not getting them during pregnancy if you usually get them was true. However, last week I had one every single day. Tylenol does not help me either. My mom got me one of those things you can freeze or heat in the microwave--I heated it and put it on my head and it was the only thing that helped me. After that that, I started taking hot showers, just sitting down in the shower and letting the water pour over my head....it helped like nothing else. Ice never helps me, only heat.

    Mine are horrid since i can't be on my prevention meds. They gave me firocet

    Married 11/27/09 and TTC right away
    Dx: Complete septate uterus with cervical duplication, endometrial polyps, PCOS, endometriosis, hypo thyroid, luteal phase defect
    4 uterus surgeries to correct my complete septum and to remove polyps and 2 years of seeing the RE, medicated cycles and IUIs
    Baby 1 and 2: BFP 3/3/11 with 2 babies EDD 11/1/11, M/C 4/6/11
    Baby #3: 8/11 pregnant EDD 4/27/11 and m/c:(
    Baby #4: 10/12/11 BFP! EDD 6/16/12m/c 10/26/11
    Baby #5: 3/13/12 BFP! EDD 11/25/12 ANOTHER m/c :(

    Baby #6: 2/14/13- BFP! EDD 10/24/13, CP 2/19/13
    Baby #7: 3/15/13- BFP! EDD 11/27/13, another CP
    Baby #8.  BFP 5/19/13 EDD 1/22/14. 8 was not our lucky number

    4th septum resection on 5/31/13.
    Baby #9: 6/29/13 BFP. C section scheduled for March 5th!

    My miracle baby was born March 5 at 9:33am. He was 8 lbs 12.5 oz and 21.25 inches long!

    Thanks, i may try the ice packs or heat packs and see how that works.

    I second the fioricet. Only thing that helps! I take it when I feel a bad one coming on.

    I'm going to third the fioricet. It's the only thing that can give me the slightest bit of relief.

    You are most likely getting rebound headaches from the Tylenol as well.  You need to break that cycle and suffer through for a bit.  Try some other tips PP gave, ice or heat, warm showers, dark room.  I hope you feel better soon.  I suffer from horrible migraines and am currently getting botox treatments for them.
