I just got a cold on Thursday. I've had soup and cough drops. I went to the pharmacy on Saturday and they only recommend nasal spray. I really want this cold to go away.
There's a few different things you can take in moderation but you should put in a quick call to your Dr and ask, exceptions can be made for the better of your health so it doesnt get worse. My dr always just says to give him a call if I'm unsure of taking something, just easier than trying to look stuff up.
You can take Sudafed, as long as it is NOT the PE kind. You have to get the regular Sudafed that they keep behind the pharmacy counter. I've had 2 colds during this pregnancy and that is what my doctor recommended. Both times I only had to take it for a day and I felt way better.
I love honey/lemon tea where u squeeze some fresh lemon juice, 2-3 tablespoons of honey and hot water and drink that.... If i have a sore throat i just eat spoonfuls of honey too as its antibacterial.
Also beef/veggie soup homemade is a magical cure for the cold in my household.... Dad would rather have that then be forced to go to the quack for meds he says
I'd suggest getting a Netti pot and use a saline solution to clear out congestion. I just had a cold and it worked miracles for cleaning my sinuses out.
