36 weeks and 2 centimeters dialated at checkup

So I'm 36 weeks tomorrow. Saw my ob today for routine checkup. I've been feeling great and no contractions. Maybe once a day a long period like cramp, but just one! Anyway, she wasn't even going to check my cervix but I asked her to. Turns out I'm 2 centimeters dialated and 80% effaced. This is my second pregnancy and she said some woman last weeks dialated. Hope I make it to 37 weeks or at least not have the baby on Christmas!

Anyone else on my situation?

You can walk around at 2cm for weeks. I know someone who was dilated at 3 at 32 weeks and she went to 40 weeks.

There have been many similar posts to this so I would say quite a few people are in the same boat.

I've been at 1 cm since 35 weeks and i am 38 now. you can walk around dilated for weeks or go from nothing to in labor in no time... hate to say it, but it doesn't mean much
