3:00 am, party time?

So here I am, sitting on the couch, checking through TB, and eating some fruit loops. Baby Girl is kicking away, and this would all be completely normal if it weren't 4:00 am now. I was lucky enough this week to get to work from home, aka sleep in an extra two hours, but pregnancy laughed at that one and decided that the middle of the night was the best time to be wide awake. My dog doesn't even want to hang out. She is passed out on the couch across the room! I've been thinking about all of the things I could throw out, clean up, and re-organize right now, but I think it would all make too much noise and wake up DH. What have you ladies done on your exciting and wonderful evenings/mornings wide awake? I would love some suggestions for tomorrow nights events, because I am sure I will be up again haha. I think I might take up crocheting!

  • I've got a case of the insomnia right now too... Except all I'm doing is laying in bed lol.

  • @egraves4  I tried to lay in bed so badly! After an hour, I said screw it! Then I came down stairs and had a snack. Just did some dishes and organized the recycling to take outside haha.
  • I just lay there in bed. Or toss and turn. Sucks. You'd think we'd be tired from growing a human(s) for the past 8 months or at least carrying them around with us that day lol. I always try and think of one thing, something insignificant like a flower, just so my mind isn't racing from one thing to the next, like paying bills or having to frost my mom's sugar cookies (been doing this since I was a kid, hate it, there's so many). This sometimes works.
  • 100% me today. I was up at 3:45 am and haven't really slept since. I think I got a quick 20 minute nap on the couch between 4:45 and 5:15 am and The struggle is so real today. Apparently I don't sleep anymore?
  • I just look at Pinterest until I fall asleep and have a snack if I'm hungry. My problem is I usually wake up thirsty and having to pee.
  • I'm trying so hard to get into crocheting. SO SO hard. I just don't have the hand coordination. I will stick with it, damnit!
    As for the insomnia, I'm with @baya5 with Pinterest all the way
  • What is up with waking up at 3am!? It's always from like 3-5. I usually lay there for awhile, get hungry, have a snack, check Facebook, and then try to sleep. I find doing a body scan or breathing exercises help.

  • I've just been laying in bed, although my daughter has recently been waking up too so I guess that's one way to get some snuggles in, even though she thinks its party and talking time.
  • Thanks ladies. I wish I could have just pinterested (which I did) and gone back to sleep, but I had to work today and just logged in as early as I was allowed at 6:00 am and have been working since. Can't wait until 2:00 to take a nap! @Shatzegirl I swear 3:00 is when I wake up a lot, so annoying!

  • I try to Pinterest or Facebook till I get tired again lying in bed. If I still can't fall asleep I get up and read or watch lifetime/hallmark movies. I just keep getting up to pee and then can't get comfortable with this big belly. Cannot wait to sleep on my stomach again!!!!

  • Last night I was awake from 1-4. I played on my phone for awhile then read a church magazine on my phone til I got tired then laid there listening to my dh talk in his sleep. I'm so tired! I guess our bodies are getting ready for baby to keep us up all night lol
  • I either watch TV if it's a total hopeless case or I'll turn on my sounds app and focus on that. It helps me tune out all the crazy cyclic thinking and fall back asleep

  • I usually just stare at the ceiling, or toss and turn until I can fall back asleep. If that doesn't work, I get up and start my day - take a long shower, turn on the tv and watch something on the DVR while eating breakfast.

  • I turn on a meditation/guided relaxation playlist and that usually gets me back to sleep. I hate insomnia it's the worst !
  • Right now it's 4 am and I'm awake! I would like to thank Charlie Horse and then Acid Reflux from all the water I chugged for this moment of being awake...

  • Last night was the first night in a LONG time I wasn't wide awake in the middle of the night. I didn't even get up to pee! Then DD woke me up at 5am because she couldn't find her other sock in her bed! Ugh. I also work til 3 today then need to wrap all her gifts (thank goodness there's only a few) with DH tonight after my family's Christmas party. So tired!

    Yes Hallmark movies are great for falling asleep. DH is so sick of all the Christmas ones lol
