Rants/Raves/Symptoms: Apparently my brain has shut off for the remainder of the week which I am honestly okay with at this point. I'm also starting to get nervous to tell my extended family the news tomorrow night, I think they'll all be excited but you never know.
GTKY: What is one thing that usually cheers you up if you're in a bad mood?: hands down my dog. DH does his best but there's nothing like a snuggly little dog to cheer you up.
Rants/Raves/Symptoms: Threw up twice yesterday--feeling so hungry all the time, but still so afraid to eat. I was really hoping to feel better because I want to eat all the Christmas noms!
What are you doing to get ready for baby? Trying to decide which room we want to be the nursery. Thinking about names. Waiting for the IPS results. Just waiting!
GTKY: What is one thing that usually cheers you up if you're in a bad mood? The answer is always ice cream.
So I'm in the second trimester---barely (14w3days) and my pregnancy symptoms seem to just say F it we are going to get worse. I have tension headaches and I don't want to eat at all. I thought the second trimester was the golden months
Rants/Raves/Symptoms: A new symptom is being able to hear my pulse via a swishing sound in my ear (called pulsatile tinnitus??). It's driving me crazy! I like to sleep in complete silence and all I can hear is this swishing sound
What are you doing to get ready for baby? Nothing new!
GTKY: What is one thing that usually cheers you up if you're in a bad mood? Playing with my dogs or just cuddling my Maltese. He's always so happy to see me and is a little love bug.
Married July 2014 DD born June 2016 Second due August 2020 (team green!)
Rants/Raves/Symptoms: RLP can suck it. Also, I cannot shake this cold. My throat feels worse, I'm more stuffed up than ever, I have a pressure headache...it's not okay! I have things to do...but, I think it will be a Netflix day instead.
What are you doing to get ready for baby? Yesterday we picked up a paint sample & painted a section of the soon-to-be nursery...so I'm waiting for DH to wake up so we can decide if we like it or if it's too dark (my guess). Maybe I'll venture out for other samples to avoid an entirely lazy day if we decide to try something lighter.
GTKY: What is one thing that usually cheers you up if you're in a bad mood? My dog, hands down. She always seems to know when I'm not in the best mood & comes to me to cuddle or just to give me kisses. And DH can always make me laugh. It actually really bothers me sometimes that I can be so upset (sometimes at him) & he can just look at me a certain way & I start laughing, lol. Sometimes I just want to be angry & he totally ruins that, hahaha!
@tan&web I noticed that I have been getting more headaches as well during the second trimester. I think I have more "symptoms" now than I ever did during the first tri, but luckily they're not too bad.
How far along are you: 15+4
Rants/Raves/Symptoms: Getting some last minute stocking stuffers today, and packing to head up north tonight as soon as DH gets home! I have been experiencing lots of mild cramping, headaches, sore boobs and constipation. Finally got some new prenatal vitamins that I only have to take once a day now.
GTKY: What is one thing that usually cheers you up if you're in a bad mood? A good laugh, snuggling with the dog and bear hugs from DH.
Rants/Raves/Symptoms: Yesterday was such a good day! We found out we're having a boy which is SO exciting. We got approved for the apartment we wanted. Most of my grades have been released and so far so good and today is my last full day of work this week. Hello, long weekend. Same symptoms - I think I might have felt a few flutters the last few days. They felt a bit different than anything I've ever really felt before, but I'm still not 100% convinced it's baby yet.
What are you doing to get ready for baby? We're moving into our new place on the 31st! We went for a one bedroom on purpose to save money since for half of the lease, it'll just be us two, so I've been doing a lot of research on mini cribs and maximizing a little bit of space.
Questions? Nope.
GTKY: What is one thing that usually cheers you up if you're in a bad mood? Right now? Nothing. Hormones make me want to just wallow in my bad mood and be a butt haha. Usually, just getting out of the house and going to do something (get ice cream, go to happy hour, etc) does the trick.
@Sgoldberg247 My brain has been shut off since Monday lol And I'm ok with that too. Have fun telling the extended family and let us know how it goes!
@catherinekate Hope you start feeling better before the Christmas festivities! @samsonator That symptom would drive me nuts too, especially trying to sleep at night! @DeePaddy24 Colds during pregnancy seriously suck. I hope you feel better!
@Sgoldberg247 I was also SO nervous when we started telling people, but everyone's wonderfully positive reactions made me feel so silly afterward. I'm sure you'll have the same result! Good luck!
@ahernandez16 Wow! Sounds like you have a lot to celebrate this week Congrats on finding out the sex, the grades and getting approved on the apartment. Perfect way to start a long holiday weekend!
Rants/Raves/Symptoms: Happy it's my "Friday" and will be off until next Tuesday, but man is this day dragging! Got all the presents wrapped last night (soo many gifts for nieces and nephews!!) so I can concentrate on cleaning the house for tomorrow and figuring out what to make/bake. Symptoms: heartburn, tired, random pulls/minor pains in lower abdomen
What are you doing to get ready for baby? Start cleaning up the room that will become the nursery and the room where all of that stuff will be moved to maybe this weekend.
Questions? Anyone else feel something 'in the way' when they bend over, like to pick something up sometimes. I'm assuming it's just my stomach getting in the way now but still weird to feel something there. Like when I go to put on my sock now, it's already harder to bend over somewhat. Does that make any sense?
GTKY: What is one thing that usually cheers you up if you're in a bad mood? My 2 year old goldie, Daisy. She is one of the best things to happen to us. She is the light of my life. I could hug her all day.
Me - 33, DH - 33 Married - May 2014 DH - Low Count/Motility/Morph - Varicocele vein x 2 - surgery (8/11) - success! BFP - 10/10/15, EDD - 6/20/16 - It's a BOY! Rants/Raves/Symptoms: Rant: I have been stuck in an airport since 6am for a flight that is currently delayef 3.5 hours. I just want to get on a plane and get home to see my parents!! Rave: We got the results from our Verifi test that showed no abnormalies and that I'm having a boy! We also did the carrier screening on me and i was negative for everything. It feels good to have one less worry!
What are you doing to get ready for baby? Starting to talk about names since we now know it is a boy.
GTKY: What is one thing that usually cheers you up if you're in a bad mood? Snuggles or kisses from my puppies. They always seem to know when I need it.
@BakerBird525 yes I feel it too. The uterus is gonna get in the way and it gets bigger and if your doc has ever showed you how to feel it. It feels hard to the touch.
How far along are you: 16+4
Rants/Raves/Symptoms: Just tired, thankfully the headaches aren't daily any more Nd the HG is all done. I'm almost done wrapping gifts and I feel so behind because normally all my stuff is wrapped two weeks before Christmas
GTKY: What is one thing that usually cheers you up if you're in a bad mood? Making palačinke!!!!!!!!!!!!
Rants/Raves/Symptoms: RAVE: DH is off today and spending the day with DS, so last night when I fell asleep on the couch at 8:30 he very gently woke me and told me to go to bed. I think that is the best sleep I have had in like a week!
RANT: It is 63* here in Alabama with highs near 75* and a 70% chance of severe thunderstorms that include hail and tornadoes. This is going to be a long day for us. DH lost his sister and brother in law in the April 27, 2011 tornadoes and today is Christmas with his parents.
What are you doing to get ready for baby? Nothing new yet... We find out New Years day if it is a boy/girl! SO excited!
GTKY: What is one thing that usually cheers you up if you're in a bad mood? Anything artsy... coloring, painting, sewing, doing a craft with DS. And a good bubble bath helps too
@mrsschmity - You do stockings and presents? I was lucky to get people's presents done this year so good for you!
@Sgoldberg247@DeePaddy24@mrsallikat and @mrsschmity- Agree 100% on our dog cheering me up no matter what. Dogs are the best. What kinds do you have again? We have a Great Pyrenees...he's pretty much Santa Paws.
@bakerbird525 - Goldens are sweet as pie. Love them. I feel the uterus all the time when I move in bed, bend down, stretch and work out. It feels odd to say the least.
@adiaz132003 - So glad the HG is done for you. That has to feel much better.
How far along are you: 16 weeks! Rants/Raves/Symptoms: Feeling ok, just a little tired. My belly is getting huge I feel. I did spin class last night and it felt really strange with a hard belly.
What are you doing to get ready for baby? We put the stroller together, that's all I got.
GTKY: What is one thing that usually cheers you up if you're in a bad mood? Our Great Pyrenees. He's a giant 120lb (well, right now post-surgery recovery 100lb) fluff ball and I love him more than life. Also, working out cheers me up most of the time. It didn't used to work that way but now it does for some reason.
ETA - Tag fail. Meant to tag @bakerbird525 on the uterus comment.
@adiaz132003: Yea, I can definitely feel it now, it's very firm. I guess I just didn't expect it to feel it so much just bending over already. It's very strange and new. Glad your headaches are fewer and HG is gone!
@ahernandez16: Lots of great news to celebrate over the holidays!
@DeePaddy24: Hope you start feeling better soon! Netflix sounds like a great way to relax.

@mkemommy we have a 20-ish lb chocolate/liver tricolor beagle. He's at the small end of size for the breed and beagles have a puppy face for much of their lives so everyone assumes he's a puppy when they meet him and are shocked to hear he's actually 3-4 years old. A friend has a great Pyrenees, I don't know how you deal with the amount of fur! I also understand what you mean about working out making you feel better. When I was in better shape there was nothing better than a good long run to get rid of all the stress and anxiety.
@ahernandez16 I'm glad your family responded positively! I was so nervous telling my parents and they turned out to be really excited so I know the nerves are all in my head but telling myself that only does so much.
@samsonator I've gotten that weird swishing sound too, not all the time, but man is it annoying. Hopefully it goes away soon so you can get a good night sleep!
@DeePaddy24 - Lab mixes are great. My sister has a Lab/Akita mix...sweetest dog and will not stop fetching to save his life.
@sgoldberg247 - Does your beagle howl? I don't mind the fur from our Pyr...it mostly comes off on clumps so at least I can see it to pick it up (lol) but the barking! He's a guard dog so I get it but he barks at everything he thinks is a threat (mail man, dogs walking outside, runners, anyone walking "funny"...a running dog? forget it, he'll go nuts). No one is getting in our house, that's for sure.
Rants/Raves/Symptoms: I literally threw up in the car as I was driving to work today. I'm not even that nauseous but I have a cold and whenever I cough it triggers that gag reflex! Nothing prettier than pregnant!
What are you doing to get ready for baby? We've finally started to really discuss names. I just found out that they'll do an anatomy scan and 16 weeks, so we'll find out the sex sooner than we thought!
Questions? Nah, I'm good!
GTKY: What is one thing that usually cheers you up if you're in a bad mood? My sweet little boy! He's so much fun right now and cracks me up everyday!
Rants/Raves/Symptoms: Rant-I do discharge planning for a psychiatric hospital, and of course everyone wants out of here today or tomorrow so my head's spinning, and my co-worker is off tomorrow and Monday so I have to take on her patients, too. OY VEY! Also, 3 out of my 4 coworkers are sick and they surround me so I'm terrified I'll be sick for he holidays. Rave-I'm actually feeling ok today. Not too nauseous for once..woo hoo, and I don't have a killer headache, just a little one chillin so I'm good with that.
What are you doing to get ready for baby? Nothing yet...I worked on my pregnancy journal some...
GTKY: What is one thing that usually cheers you up if you're in a bad mood? My chihuahua Diesel most of the time....he comes and lays on my chest and snuggles with me when I'm crying or upset. These hormones have me in a bad mood pretty much 24/7 tho....sooo poor pup can't always cheer me up.
Rants/Raves/Symptoms: Mostly raves today! Got back our Panorama test results yesterday and we are super low risk. OB said that I basically reduced my risk to the same as an 18 year old. YAY! Too bad the rest of my body doesn't feel that way! It might be my uterus getting in the way but I definitely make the old lady groan way more now when I bend down for things. I also got to hear the baby's HB yesterday and it was amazing. I'm PGAL so I had convinced myself that things would be bad. I haven't really felt the baby yet, or at least what I'm convinced is the baby, but I really hope to soon so I can stop losing my mind!
What are you doing to get ready for baby? Checking out cribs.
Questions? Nope!
GTKY: What is one thing that usually cheers you up if you're in a bad mood?
My dog cheers me up too, but in a silly way. He's more into himself than other people's emotions and doesn't really pick up on the empathy thing like some dogs. I like to joke that he as Asperger's. But he cracks me up so he always gets me out of a funk.
The wine + baking + kitchen dance party trifecta also does the trick!
Rants/Raves/Symptoms: Im on the Tension Headache train as well. I've had one all week that I can't shake.
What are you doing to get ready for baby? We are announcing the sex and her name to our families tonight since my sister and her family will be in town for Christmas. We are really excited - we've known for a week and a half now and its been driving everyone crazy. After the holidays we will get serious about cleaning out DS's new big boy room (is now the office) and looking for big boy furniture.
Questions?
GTKY: What is one thing that usually cheers you up if you're in a bad mood? a hot bath with a nice book. So awesome.
Rants/Raves/Symptoms: I finally went to the doctor yesterday and I have a double ear infection and sinus infection along with having bronchospams. He gave me an antibiotic that is safe for pregnancy so hoping I feel somewhat better for Christmas. He said other than that there's nothing to do for the cough or congestion but I'm okay with that for the safety of baby. Good news is this is my last day of work until January 4th!!! I'm so happy to have a break from school and work!
GTKY: What is one thing that usually cheers you up if you're in a bad mood? I'm gonna be honest the answer here is food. The other week DH told me he has to go to Vegas for work for an entire week (we originally thought it would only be 4 days) and I was really upset. He then pulled out a box of french toast sticks he got me from the store...I was totally fine then. He was like oh so food makes up for me being gone lol
Rants/Raves/Symptoms: Symptoms are mild to non-existent. Lightly tender breasts and bloating is about it.
I went to a private ultrasound clinic and had a gender scan done last night to surprise DH. It's a BOY!! He said "I had a feeling...".
What are you doing to get ready for baby? Nothing yet.
GTKY: What is one thing that usually cheers you up if you're in a bad mood? Laughing. If I watch a funny show I tend to get out of my funk pretty quickly.
@BakerBird525 I've felt that for a couple weeks. Of course this is my 5th pregnancy and my uterus is measuring 3 weeks ahead.
How far along are you: 13+5
Rants/Raves/Symptoms: Rave finally got all my Christmas shopping done. Rant the Jack Septic Eye shirt I ordered for my son 5 weeks ago is still not here. I guess he's going to get a picture of the shirt wrapped in a box for Christmas. Grrr... Headaches are about the only symptom I have left for now. I'll be happy to take that.
What are you doing to get ready for baby? My BF ripped the carpet up and we're painting after on the 26th.
Questions? None.
GTKY: What is one thing that usually cheers you up if you're in a bad mood? My sweet BF!!
Rants/Raves/Symptoms: I am going through horrible insomnia. I don't have a problem falling asleep, but staying asleep. Otherwise, I am doing pretty good. I am finally getting energy back and starting to exercise 3-4 days a week.
What are you doing to get ready for baby? Starting to think of names. Other than that, we are just trying to wrap our brains around having 2 kids soon
GTKY: What is one thing that usually cheers you up if you're in a bad mood? Exercising and snuggling with my 2 year old
Rants/raves/symptoms: rant still sick, rave working from home, symptom: nothing aside from the unending cold, but my OB gave me permission to take sudafed so there's a light in the tunnel.
GTKY: love all the dog peeps!
If I have a bad day or mood, it's my pup hands down. I practically run home to see her when I'm peeved or angsty. She's a very empathetic cockapoo and always knows when I'm upset. 100% don't know what I'd do without her.
If I have a bad life event (like an ill family member or death) it's my DH. He's incredible in a crisis and always knows exactly what to say or do. I have no clue how he does it, but I feel like I could go through anything with him by my side.
@mkemommy no howling from our beagle! He barks if we get him amped up for dinner and then don't give it to him right away and sometimes when we play fetch as he starts to run after the toy. He also will bark if he is pursuing a deer which he loves to attempt to do but that's it. Our neighbors absolutely love him because he's so quiet.
Rants/Raves/Symptoms: My symptoms are MUCH better, but still some nausea here and there. Mainly I just cry and the drop of a hat, which is SO weird for me and DH officially thinks I'm insane... oh well!
What are you doing to get ready for baby? A friend of mine offered up her ENTIRE furniture set from her daughter. I am so excited! We find out the gender on Monday so we will be picking out paint colors for that! (I am also in a one bedroom so we will have to get crafty!) After Monday I am definitely going to be busy sewing for the LO!
Questions? What week did your belly pop, for those of you that have? I got NOTHIN! And I'm dying to be showing!
GTKY: What is one thing that usually cheers you up if you're in a bad mood? A big hug from my husband is always the best. Oddly enough, work cheers me up. I'm surrounded by kids and creative projects so most of the time when I dive in I feel so much better. But I'm with you girls, cuddling with my dog is nice too
Rants/Raves/Symptoms: I posted my rant in weekly randoms but I'll share here as well. I work in a small office. The last few years everyone has purchased little gesture gifts for all of the other women in the office for christmas- like an ornament, or candle, etc. something small... so this year they decided we were going to do a white elephant gift exchange - perfect! One gift and I'm done instead of 8! We do our exchange today as most are off tomorrow, well of course I show up this morning with my white elephant, and it turns out that was IN ADDITION to our gift exchange... so now I've been gifted all these little gestures, and I had to go out at lunch and buy 8 more presents and have them wrapped & bring them back to the office & I feel like such an asshat and I'm frustrated that I had to go run around and do this. I feel like the grinch i'm just so annoyed. But I did get great deals at the Gap (up to 50% off sale items) so I got everyone pretty scarves that were $25 for only $10... so they liked their gifts... I'm just annoyed I had to drop another $80 at lunch. Enough is enough! RAVE: Just got a call from our Dr. that the results of last weeks NT scan/bloodwork have been accessed (I wasn't expecting news for another week or so!) and all is perfect, 1/5000 odds that there are any concerns THANK GOD. That's the best Christmas present I could've gotten!
What are you doing to get ready for baby? My mom called the other day to say that "Santa went a little crazy for the baby" sooooo I'm expecting that she went overboard... I'm not doing anything right now - I need DH to get on board with the changes in the house/making a nursery (he thinks we can do so after the summer as the baby will sleep in our room the first few months & leave the room as a guest room because we live in a beach area and lots of friends visit - but I want to nest & make the baby a space of its own!!) Once I start ordering a glider, crib, changing table, dresser etc. I'm hoping he realizes this issue.
Questions? None!
GTKY: What is one thing that usually cheers you up if you're in a bad mood? Snuggles & Hugs from my DH... he is the best snuggler, he can instantly melt my stress (as long as he's not the one causing it!!).
Rants/Raves/Symptoms: I haven't been on here for about a month, but last week we were elated to find out all our genetic screenings came back 'negative' and we're on track to having a healthy boy! We got to hear his heartbeat and had a 3D ultrasound. The US was before the Dr. told us the gender and right when I saw him on the US I was surprised to hear myself suddenly referring to 'it' as 'him.' He just looked like a boy (ok, I know they all look pretty genderless at this point, but it's a nice thought that I subconsciously knew). I've started to get those 2nd tri symptoms though - headache, dizziness and heartburn. And the mild nausea I fortunately only had in month 2 has decided to creep back in, but they're all pretty mild and tolerable.
What are you doing to get ready for baby? Honestly not a whole lot yet except reading. Just the thought of cleaning out the second bedroom (which we'd been using more or less for storage) to get it ready is overwhelming right now. Will probably start that after Christmas.
GTKY: What is one thing that usually cheers you up if you're in a bad mood? Getting out of the house and exercising. With recent exhaustion it's been a tough one, but even a 30 minute walk can make me feel better.
Rants/Raves/Symptoms: I am SO emotional and I'm just not feeling festive this year which is making me even more sad! I feel depressed and I'm not sure why.
What are you doing to get ready for baby? Nothing. We did just tell my parents tonight that we are adopting. They are excited but I still feel sad. "We're adopting" is just not the same as "We're pregnant." I'm all teary eyed.
Questions? none
GTKY: What is one thing that usually cheers you up if you're in a bad mood? Ice cream...or at least I think so until I realize I just ate too many calories and then I'm depressed again. Someone give me some suggestions.

Re: Wednesday Check-In
Rants/Raves/Symptoms: Apparently my brain has shut off for the remainder of the week which I am honestly okay with at this point.
Rants/Raves/Symptoms:
A new symptom is being able to hear my pulse via a swishing sound in my ear (called pulsatile tinnitus??).
DD born June 2016
Second due August 2020 (team green!)

Rants/Raves/Symptoms:
RLP can suck it.

*Edit. Tag fail.
@catherinekate Hope you start feeling better before the Christmas festivities!
@samsonator That symptom would drive me nuts too, especially trying to sleep at night!
@DeePaddy24 Colds during pregnancy seriously suck. I hope you feel better!
Symptoms Back to feeling like absolute garbage last 2 mornings. Was feeling ok for a few days. Back just in time for Christmas.
GTKY ice creAm or wine lol.
@cmillar36 Hope you start feeling better soon!

Rants/Raves/Symptoms:

GTKY: What is one thing that usually cheers you up if you're in a bad mood?
Making palačinke!!!!!!!!!!!!
Rants/Raves/Symptoms:
RAVE: DH is off today and spending the day with DS, so last night when I fell asleep on the couch at 8:30 he very gently woke me and told me to go to bed.
SO excited!
@Sgoldberg247 @DeePaddy24 @mrsallikat and @mrsschmity- Agree 100% on our dog cheering me up no matter what.
ETA - Tag fail. Meant to tag @bakerbird525 on the uterus comment.

Rants/Raves/Symptoms: headaches for the past few days
What are you doing to get ready for baby? Brainstorming what to put on registry
Questions? None today!
(Edited to add GTKY)
GTKY: What is one thing that usually cheers you up if you're in a bad mood? going for a run or listening to music
Rants/Raves/Symptoms:
Mostly raves today!

Me: 26 | DH: 27
How far along are you: 13+5
Rants/Raves/Symptoms:
Rave finally got all my Christmas shopping done.

Rants/Raves/Symptoms:
I am going through horrible insomnia.
Rants/Raves/Symptoms: My symptoms are MUCH better, but still some nausea here and there. Mainly I just cry and the drop of a hat, which is SO weird for me and DH officially thinks I'm insane...
RAVE: Just got a call from our Dr. that the results of last weeks NT scan/bloodwork have been accessed (I wasn't expecting news for another week or so!) and all is perfect, 1/5000 odds that there are any concerns
13+2
Rants/Raves/Symptoms:
I haven't been on here for about a month, but last week we were elated to find out all our genetic screenings came back 'negative' and we're on track to having a healthy boy!
