Picking a hospital

I'm pregnant with my first. I like my ob but I'm not happy with the hospital at which I would deliver. There are several hospitals nearby that are much more in line with my birthing goals (minimal intervention, extreme breastfeeding support, rooming in, etc.). What have other women done in this situation? Is it worth switching doctors to deliver at a different hospital?

I did. The hospital closest to me is old and doesn't have a great reputation so I found a new obgyn that delivers at better hospital. Not only do they have new rooms, but they have a level 3 nicu, which is obviously something I hope we don't need, but it's reassuring to know it's there. - Loading the player...

I switched mid pregnancy. I would suggest doing what will make you happiest. And keep in mind your Dr might not be the one who ends up delivering baby anyways. Just something to keep in mind if he/she is the only thing keeping you at that location. I think having the environment you will be most comfortable in is very important. Do some research on other places and Dr's and I bet you'll find the perfect fit
