Mesh crib bumper for mini crib

I am interested in buying a mesh crib bumper for our mini crib but am having a hard time finding the correct measurements. Are these things usually adjustable? Ftm here and a little confused!

Re: Mesh crib bumper for mini crib

  • I used the mesh ones with my son and they were just 2 long mesh fabric panels with Velcro so I weaved them through each peg on the crib and then fastened the Velcro together of the remaining fabric (I remember there being quite a bit) so I assume it goes both ways and would be super adjustable, i.e. More or less extra fabric at the end. hopefully that makes sense. at least the ones I purchased were like that but you may be able to find a "mini" option. But as I recall the ones I found would work! I think I found them at babies r us but that was 6+ years ago! I guess keep your receipts in case

  • Bumpers, including mesh ones, are not recommended any longer.

  • You really don't need them early on when baby is small since they can't roll over, and early rollers don't move with much speed. I would guess your LO might be in a regular crib by the time you decided you wanted them (if you decide you still do).

  • Mesh bumpers are definitely something I would wait on to see if you need. They are kind of pricy and you may not need them, especially not right away. We bought them when DD was probably 3-4 months old and started rolling all over in her crib and getting her legs caught and would get mad and wouldn't go back to sleep. Once she started crawling at 6-7 months we took them off because she could maneuver out of the slats and she was using them to try and climb out of her crib. One thing I missed when we took them off was they helped contain the pacifiers from falling behind her crib haha!

  • I agree with the others that you might not need them.. Or at least for a while! The only time I used a bumper (which was mesh) was when my kids started getting stuck in the rails and crying out because they were twisted in the rail and in pain. That seemed to be a short stage as well, but definitely helped. The large mesh ones you can Velcro pretty small so it should work (maybe?). Maybe you can find a set used just to try.Sorry I'm not much help there!

  • Mesh bumpers- like regular bumpers- arent considered safe. Please do your research

  • There have been quite a few deaths due to bumpers and mesh bumpers this past year. I wouldn't even consider using them.

  • I know a lot of babies do get arms/legs stuck between the slats but it never once happened with DS.

I really don't understand why you don't know that crib bumpers are not safe. Being a ftm too I have read and read about safety. There are soo many sites where they say crib bumpers are not safe. Please read up...
