Success after IF

**kittylove**

Hey!  I read your birthstory!  Congrats on little Riley-- I'm glad you got the c-section you wanted, even though you didn't get the birth you wanted.

Would you mind sending me the list of requests/questions you had for your C if it is convenient?  I am hoping to go natural and avoid one as much as possible, but I also know the odds aren't that great for hospital births!

Either email or post here.  sasha at morris dot net

Thank you sooo much!

Re: **kittylove**

  • - Arms and hands free durring c-section

    - Daddy to get skin to skin contact till baby is with mommy (this was the one thing they couldn't do because DH was in scrubs, and we knew that going in)

    - Mommy to truly hold the baby in c-section room, not just given the kiss and then taken back

    - No bath till Mommy is present, and awake enough to witness it

    - Baby to stay in c-section room with mommy at all times: if they couldn't do this I wanted DH to go with baby and my mom to come in and stay with me while getting stitched up.

    -  Mom and baby reunited (if seperated) and BFing within 1/2 hour

The cool thing they did that wasn't in my birth plan was that rather than put him in the plastic bin and wheel him into recovery, they put him on my chest and wheeled us into recovery.

  • That's awesome you were able to keep him on your chest!

Thanks!  I feel better being prepared for all outcomes, and you have some great suggestions!
