We announced on the weekend. I've never gotten so many "likes" on a FB post before, lol. It's been nice to see how excited everyone is.
What are you doing to get ready for baby?
DH is off with me today, so we're doing a bit of shopping & driving to a store he sells to (about an hour away) to look at their baby furniture. I've already seen things I like online so it will be nice to see them in person.

I'm too tired to think of a good answer this morning. I'll say a dog...specifically my dog. I'm kind, loyal, affectionate, love to cuddle...& am very easily distracted when my favourite treats are around.

Rants/Raves/Symptoms: spent the day shopping yesterday - everything at gap/banana republic/old navy was 40-60%. I didn't pick up any maternity clothes per se, but was able to score some nice looser fitting shirts for work that don't need to be tucked in. Hoping to hide the blump/bump for another few weeks.
What are you doing to get ready for baby? Reading through Lucie's list to prepare what I need for the first few weeks home.
Questions? So when you have a real bump, does it feel like bloat or ?????
GTKY: What animal best represents you/your personality and why? Not sure, but I really love my three dogs, 2 weimaraners and a chocolate lab.
Rants/Raves/Symptoms: Symptoms: Sore boobs, feeling pressure in my belly/uterus region, RLP and what I feel like might be low blood sugar in the mornings - I feel so yucky and blah after I get up and moving in the morning. I don't know what it is.
GTKY: What animal best represents you/your personality and why? Maybe a dog or eagle or something - I'm friendly, love to explore/travel, am loyal...this is a hard question this morning lol

@cdnrunning When I first noticed an actual "bump" instead of bloat, I could feel it right away in the morning. Most of the bloat had gone away, and there was a hard bump down in my pelvic area that stayed there all day and didn't go away. I can't suck it in anymore either, it's just there all the time!
Rants/Raves/Symptoms: Still have sneak-attack MS, though maybe less frequent? Also have a full-blown cold. Drinking buckets of lemon, honey, cinnamon tea and am currently biffles with my kleenex+lotion box.
Rant? Working today and tomorrow vs taking vacation pike I normally would since I'm hoarding accrued personal and sick time for maternity leave. Oof.

@cdnrunning I have a small firm spot just above my pelvis that is there first thing in the morning through the end of the day. It does tend to grow a tad but it never 100% goes away so I know it isn't just bloat.
How far along are you: 13+3
Rants/Raves/Symptoms: On and off pelvic pressure and weird abdominal soreness (way higher than my uterus is at). My guess is its just everything moving around and stretching out. Also getting tired of this come and go nausea. Either be here all the time or go away because playing puke roulette after I get up every morning is getting old.
GTKY: What animal best represents you/your personality and why?: I think my dog is quite a bit like me, loves to nap, kind of easily distracted but can focus if needed, can be a total goof or completely serious depending on what is needed based on the situation.
Rants/Raves/Symptoms: our announcements went out to extended family and out of state friends last Monday. Since then: crickets. One aunt and my step sister congratulated us. Out of forty families. WTF? I guess everyone is fresh out of GAFs.

I took a quiz just now and it said owl because I'm analytical, thoughtful, prefer to work alone, and am loyal & responsible in private life. I originally thought maybe a cat? I don't like most people, and I don't care.
Rants/Raves/Symptoms: I just can't seem to get into the Holidays this year. Usually, I'm all about it but all I feel is stress and anxiety. Over the weekend I received my first bit of unsolicited mom to be advice and it made me feel like a crazy person. It was from DHs family and it made me realize that I no longer own my body and apparently everybody else makes decisions for me now.
What are you doing to get ready for baby?
DH and I took a trip over to Babies r Us and picked out nursery furniture. It's been so hard getting excited because all I feel like I can do is wait. Wait for the anatomy scan, wait until after the shower. I just want to go shopping and go crazy. Lol.
Rants/Raves/Symptoms: Rave: Announced on FB yesterday and I think everyone really liked the announcement! And like @DeePaddy24, I've never gotten so many likes and comments on one post! Also, only working 3 days this week and just found out my boss is out for the next 2 weeks, yay! Symptoms: "lighting crotch", RLP (hurts when stretching!), tired, hungry all the time. Rant: It's Monday
What are you doing to get ready for baby? Ordered some petite maternity jeans from Loft last week and can't wait to get them in - hoping at least 1 of the 3 pairs works out. Also checking out Motherhood Maternity to get a few shirts. My jeans, even with the hair tie, are too tight in the waist. I love actually having a bump now. I can't suck it in anymore and when I lay in bed, you can definitely feel something.
GTKY: What animal best represents you/your personality and why? I want to say Dog because I love my dog and I'm very loyal and friendly, but I would also say cat since I like to be alone and kind of do my own thing a lot.

Nothing new symptom-wise. I'm still getting headaches when I stand up and also random aches and pains.
Rant would be I have today off but have a lot of deep cleaning today since I haven't been cleaning much the past 10 weeks... My fault. I've just been so tired! DH has gone from 1/2 the cleaning to all the cleaning, poor guy!
What are you doing to get ready for baby?
Nothing new on this front! Just getting more and more excited for baby
GTKY: What animal best represents you/your personality and why?
I'm going to go with penguins because I love penguins and most species are monogomous, which as am I - haha. Also, both the male and female build the nest and care for the puffin, which is rare in animal species! DH and I take equal parts in everything and both prefer to roll that way.
Also- based on GIFS and YouTube videos, I think they trip a lot. Me too

GTKY: What animal best represents you/your personality and why? A dog. I'm loyal, like having a pack and I'm friendly. I can snap though if I feel threatened.
@pegs6216 I'm dreading telling more people because I don't want to hear everyone and their mother's opinions and unsolicited advice about being pregnant. My MIL has already told me to stop losing weight, as if I can help the fact that I can't stomach much of anything...
@HighFive16 I'm getting close to my pants not closing, they've gone from too loose (they're the larger of the pant sizes I have) to fitting properly to being a bit snug in the past few days. Hoping to last a little longer before having to move over to bellabands/hairties but we'll see.

What are you doing to get ready for baby? Looking at how to incorporate my favorite red glider into baby #2s nursery. I am thinking grey/red maybe poppy flower type "theme" for a girl... And aviation for a boy... not sure on colors though.

Rants/Raves/Symptoms: Last day in the office until January 4! I have to work from home on Tuesday and Wednesday but so happy to be done commuting after today.
What are you doing to get ready for baby? Not much yet, I have a daughter that is 1.5 years so we have most of the necessary gear. Waiting until 20 weeks to find out the sex then will plan the nursery.

Questions? Do you guys think Aubrey is a boy or girl name? I had never heard of it being for a boy but I made a poll on the Baby Name board and a bunch of people said it's masculine which makes me sad because I love it for a girl name!

Rants/Raves/Symptoms: Feeling MUCH better since first trimester. My pants are completely unzipped and my BellyBand is being put to good use. Thinking I may break down and take a trip to the Motherhood Maternity outlet this week
What are you doing to get ready for baby? We're waiting to buy actual baby stuff until we find out what the baby is at our next appt, but we're clearing out the spare bedroom to become the nursery.
Questions? Does anyone else have recurring sharp pelvic/hip pain? It definitely feels muscular and I've been coughing pretty regularly, but I want to see if this is something you all experience, especially as bumps start getting bigger

Edited to add: it's kind of like Ashley to me...I've met males and females named Ashley, but it fits a female so much better.

Symptoms: ugh, felt really unnauseated all weekend but today has been rough. Constant nausea.
Rave: buying new pants for work this afternoon with my mom and daughter. Yay 3 generation shopping fun.
Rant: my mom keeps this house freezing. I'm wearing TWO thick hoodies right now. It really doesn't help me feel comfortable!
Animal: ooh that's tricky. I relate to my big shaggy dog a lot- like her, I can be a worrier, but I also love to let loose and play. I also crave companionship and love a good long walk (at least in non-pregnant life).
Raves We revealed to my side on Saturday night. They are excited. A little scared for my health though. I had blood pressure issues at the end last time and after my son was born too.
Also feeling so much better the last 3 days. Hoping I'm turning the corner on morning sickness. Last week was horrible for me.

@MrsB8214 I know a little boy named Aubrey and he's a sweet kid! I sort of like the name. Also isn't Drake (the rapper)'s real name Aubrey? It's definitely more common as a girl's name.

What are you doing to get ready for baby? See pictures below. We said we weren't going to buy anything big yet but a local store had a "Clear Out Auction" last week. We ended up getting a brand new Graco crib for $35 and the baby bjourn travel crib for $40 (retails for $240)!! I was super excited!!!
@MrsB8214 I've only ever met female Aubreys! It was a traditional boy name many, many decades ago, but I wouldn't think of it for a boy anymore. Kelly & Shannon are both traditional Irish boy names, too, that are predominantly used for girls now. Same for Ashley.

Rant - ordered a new bra and new underwear 2 sizes up to have room to grow but they fit perfectly wth. What size will I need in 5 months I wonder??
Rave - I was finally able to make a real homemade dinner! Just been too sick to attempt it since thanksgiving.
Symptoms - nausea seems to be easing up! Boobs less sore, less exhausted. I think I'm turning the corner! Yay

MIL gave us a gift card, so my boys picked out a kick and play piano for their baby sibling. We have our next ultrasound tomorrow but really just focusing on Christmas and our travel plans.

Baby looks great! Low NT measurement of 1.2mm, HR of 162 bpm, and measuring on target. Little one was dancing around in there and wiggling all over. Totally blew DH's mind in the best way
