Rolling over in magic merlin

I found out last night that LO can roll over and spin all over his crib in the magic Merlin sleep suit. I guess it's now time to go without it. I was really hoping to have more time before we had to stop using it. I'm anticipating some rough nights of him getting used to just a sleep sack.

Anyone else having this problem? Or any advice on transitioning out of it?

Re: Rolling over in magic merlin

  • Our little guy (will be 5 months tomorrow) has been rolling like crazy during the day, so we decided to put him in his crib without it last night... He scooted all over the crib, cornering himself several times and would start crying. He is waking very easily when he starts rolling so I decided to have him sleep without the suit... 4 hours later, we put it back on him because he was up every hour!

He hasn't started rolling in the suit yet, it keeps him on his back still. Once he starts rolling in the suit, we'll have to stop. No clue how to reasonably transition him from the suit to nothing but a sleep sack.. And he just started sleeping through the night 2 weeks ago. Ugh

  • We are also going through this right now.  DD just started rolling over in her sleepsuit last night.  We took it off her after she rolled last night; she fell asleep briefly before starting to move up and down the crib and spinning all over.  Eventually we decided to put her back in her suit for the night and not put her down until she was pretty much sleeping.  This worked last night as she fell asleep immediately after we put her down.  We are trying it again tonight as we ordered a Halo sleepsack and it won't get here until Tuesday.  I'm expected some sleepless nights as she transitions out of her Sleepsuit and into a sleepsack.  They also have to get used to sleeping on their stomachs...
