Water broke around 11:30 pm 12/9 had strong contractions within seconds. Pushed for an hour and now we have the most beautiful baby boy! Born 12/10/15 8:14 am EDD: 12/14/15
After pregnancy induced hypertension turned into pre-e , we were induced on 12/18 and baby Tyson stubbornly entered the world on 12/19.. It was eventful and a little scary at times (his heart rate plummeted a few times throughout labor). He came out at 5:58 am with the cord wrapped around his neck and legs...
He's doing amazing and is a big boy at 8lbs 10 oz and 20 inches!!
His 2 older brothers , sister , daddy and I are so in love !!
Congratulations to all the mommies in December 15!!!
Eric Emerson Burris. Born December 5th, 2015 at 3:24 am. 6 lbs 3 oz. 19.75 inches long. EDD December 23rd! Labor went wonderful. Water broke on December 4th at 7:00pm. 8 hours, 3 pushes later and he was here! Just in time for Christmas. ❤️ P.S. Epidurals are AMAZING!
Rowan James EDD: 12/19 Arrived: 12/11 10 lbs 9 oz 22 inches
My water broke 12/10 at 4:30 am, which was...rather unexpected. Tipped off the husband, who was at work, and drove myself to the hospital. I wasn't dilated at all so off we went to inductionville. I stalled out at 5 cm for hours. They figured that the baby was possibly stuck, and his heart rate dipped a couple of times, so off for a c-section it was. This was apparently a good call, as his size was a bit of a shocker. Sure, he'd measured big on the ultrasounds but...welp.
Elizabeth Rose EDD - 12-21-15 DOB - 12-15-15 TIME - 4:14AM WEIGHT - 7lbs 6oz LENGTH - 21.25"
We arrived at the hospital on 12-14-15 at noon because I was having steady contractions and was bleeding. They admitted me at 4pm. I began active labor around 11pm. Got epidural but it failed around 12am on 12-15 and delivered naturally 4 hours later. I only gave one big push and out she came.
After a long Saturday of irregular contractions, we went to the triage Sunday at 1:45am. I was brought back and we waited an hour for my first check. I was at 4cm but want told if I was being admitted. After another hour of severely painful contractions, another doctor came in and I was at 5cm. I was admitted and waited an hour to move to L&D. Once there I received my epidural. At 7 the on call OB checked me and I was at 6cm. She broke my water. Around 9 I started a low dose of pitocin to regulate contractions. I was checked again at 10:30 and was at 10cm. I started pushing at 11:21 but we found out baby was sunny side up. I was told it would be a long delivery and the OB went to check another patient. I continued pushing and the nurse was able to turn the baby. She immediately called the OB and Adrienne was born by 11:33. Everyone was shocked how quickly she came. Because of the epi, I felt no pain. I did have a second degree tear, but other than that baby and I are doing well. DH is so in love! We're slowly figuring out breast feeding, but couldn't be happier!
Elisa Elena born 5:02am 12/20 7lb 2.5oz, 21 inches
Had irregular but painful contractions all day Saturday plus bloody show. Became more regular around 8:30pm at 5.5 minutes apart, and then about 3 minutes apart when I got up and moved. Admitted about 10pm, epidural around midnight, pushed for 12 minutes and gave birth at 5:02.
Sawyer Katherine EDD 12/09 Born 12/17 9.5 lbs 22inches
Doctors wanted to induce me after 41 weeks on 12/17. Was pretty bummed out about it because I prepared for an unmedicated birth. But the great news is that I went to labor on my own! I started feeling now contractions on 12/15 before I went to bed. I woke up at 5am they were coming every 8 mins. My water ended up breaking at 11am and I could see meconium. They admited me to the hospital right away. I was able to move around the hospital room through my contractions for several hours. Around 5pm the doctor wanted me to start on pitocin because my contractions had weakened. I wasn't happy about it because I was trying to avoid or hold off an epidural and I knew contractions would be different/harder on the pitocin.
I labored another 6 hours without pain meds until I couldn't take the pain anymore. I was at 6cm but exhausted. Received epidural at midnight and was allowed to sleep periodically while I progressed to 10cm. Was able to start pushing at 8:15am and she was born at 9:42. We were Team Green so we were anxiously waiting to see the baby!
We are so in love with our beautiful baby girl and enjoying getting to know her and adjusting to life with a baby!
Peter (Pete) Robert EDD 12/12 Born 12/19 7 lbs 13 oz, 20.15 inches long
I was scheduled for induction the morning of 12/18. I showed up at the time I was told, and waited an hour for them to finish cleaning my room. Didn't see the doctor for nearly 4 hours from the time we arrived, so my induction didn't start until 2:30 pm that day. Started with misoprolol inserted, then they came back later to insert a second. The first misoprolol pill didn't cause any further dilation (I was still only 1 cm from 39 weeks, even though I was almost 41). So they put in a Foley catheter to try and increase dilation. I started getting bad pain in the bottom of my pelvis, so they took the catheter out and broke my water. By then I was about 3 cm, and still just 50% effaced (which again was the same as I was at 39 weeks). Apparently they started me on pitocin but didn't tell me. The pelvic pain didn't go away and in fact became constant and excruciating. They checked and I was still only 3 cm, and I begged for the epidural. I was in tears until they showed up to insert the epi, and actually felt a relief from most of the pelvic pain when I sat up for them to put it in.
The entire time this was happening, the docs kept commenting on how happy the baby was, that he was doing really well. However, after the epi went in, they told me they wold be back in a couple of hours to check on me. Instead, they were back within an hour. Checked me again, and I was still only around 3 cm. They took off the external monitor for my contractions and put a monitor in my uterus. After that, they told me I was having almost constant contractions, one after another with no break. I couldn't feel a thing, but LO was getting no break to rest and recover in between. He was in distress and was going to be too tired for a vaginal birth since I wasn't progressing at all. So exactly 12 hours after we started the induction process I arrived in the OR for an emergency c section. Baby boy was born at 2:44 am. They also found when testing my placenta that it had started calcifying. But it was all worth it for my beautiful baby boy!
EDD: 12/22 Born: 12/20 at 5pounds 6ounces and at 18.5 inches long
I don't have much of a long Hospital story, since I laboured all AT HOME, with assumptions that I was just having really bad BH. It all started at exactly 12AM, 12/20. I woke up from a deep sleep at around 12am that morning, with really bad cramping and lower back pains. As a FTM, I just thought "Oh crap. Really strong BH Contractions again!" Boy. Was I wrong!
At around 3:45am on 12/20, I was in some horrible pain. And it hit me that all of those so called BH Contractions, were REAL! I seriously went from 1cm dilated, to 10cm in less than 4 hours! By the the time I got to the hospital at around 4:25 am, with the nurse in L&D saying "You're having a baby NOW", and I had little Christopher at 5:07 am!
Surprised the nurses with how quick my labour and delivery went, since I was a FTM. The ONLY thing I didn't like...NO PAIN MEDS! Something I had hoped for. Lol! But my LO was all worth it. The only horrible things going on now, is the aches, pains, and a Second Degree tear. Yuck and Ouch!
Cameron Jean Edd: 12/27 DOB: 12/21 7 lbs 13 oz 20" long
Born via scheduled c-section at 9am on the dot. No complications, she's just healthy & sweet. Her big brothers, sister, mom & dad are thrilled she's blessed us!
I'm a week late to post, but I had a scheduled c section Wednesday, December 16, 2015. Baby was stuck in frank breech position with her feet crossed; her head and feet stuck under my right rib cage, and one foot was hooked on the ribs. There was no way she could have turned around. I needed a larger incision in order to pull her out, and even then she was stuck. She was successfully delivered though very healthy!!!
Samara was born at 10:13 in the morning, 7lbs 10ozs and 19 3/4in
The second they pulled her out I knew, even though you can't feel a thing, and I started crying absolute tears of love. I am in love with her and cannot get enough of her! She's the most beautiful being in my life, we could not be happier!!!
My water broke at 4:30 am on 12/21. I actually didn't think it was my water because it was one gush with no trickle. However then I had 3 more gushes before my scheduled 8:45 doctor's appointment and contractions started picking up.
I decided to walk around the parking lot and get things going. However, I also noticed that my water was brown tinged. At first I thought It was my mucus plug, but my friend at L&D confirmed it was muconium. My doctor didn't think it was cause for alarm.
I labored from 11-8 naturally with no pain meds of any kind. Around 8:30 I started pushing and nothing came of it. She was face up and my tailbone is flipped causing extra tight ligaments that she just couldn't get past. I finally asked for a c-section and the doctor agreed.
Contractions without meds are one of the hardest things I've ever done. I'm glad I tried it, but after getting the drugs for the c-section I totally get epidurals!
Rowan Lan-Charles Kay Born 12/9/15 EDD 12/18/15 8 lbs 5 oz 21 inches long
On the morning of 12/8 I went to my weekly OB appointment. I had increased discharge over the night before so the doctor tested to see if my water broke. I went back to work at the hospital and got a call from the doctor who said I should head to L&D since my water had broke. I went home and grabbed my bags and met my husband at the hospital. When I checked in I was only dilated to 1 cm and contractions were inconsistent. They gave me oral cervadil around 4:00 pm. Around 8:00 contractions turned to back labor lasting 1 minute spaced 2 minutes apart. Between each contraction I was throwing up and having back spasms. They checked me again and was only a 2. The plan was no epidural but there was no way I was going to make it with how bad the contractions were. I had to wait almost 2 hrs to run fluids. Then they gave me the epidural and started pitocin since at this point my water had been broken for 20 hrs. I was able to sleep on and off until about 6 am when they got me ready to push. I only pushed for 11 minutes when Rowan made his appearance. He has a full head of hair and is perfect! I had a second degree tear and he was pretty bruised up and had a skinned nose from such a fast descent. He has struggled with jaundice but is past that now.
Cheyenne Tereza EDD: 12/28 Born: 12/22 via c section 8 lbs 1.4 oz 20 1/2 inches long
Got the call on 12/21 to come in the next day for scheduled section. Checked in at 7:15 am on 12/22 to get ready. Originally scheduled for 9:30 am but time got pushed back to 1 pm. Finally got taken to the OR at 1:30. Once all meds were given to start I began to get very nervous and was tearing up when they brought DH in. Seeing him helped calm me down. At 2:27 pm I heard the most beautiful sound and what we have be waiting for for so long! They ended up checking her weight 3 times cause everyone swore she was bigger than 8 lbs, lol. Recovery is going great and baby is sleeping so peacefully. Our family is complete! Daddy, sisters and of course myself are so in love with this precious blessing were have been given!!

We are both doing well and I am so in love with my little man! Started off with my water spontaneously breaking around 3pm. Took a quick shower and Made it to the hospital in about an hour. Had contractions during the car ride that progressively got worse. They checked me when I got there and I was already 5cm but couldn't get my epidural til my blood work came back. In the meantime I was given some pain medication to take the edge off which didn't work. It made me groggy and I was still able to feel every contraction. Finally by the time my blood work came back I was already 9cm! I immediately panicked thinking I wasn't able to get my epidural any more since I was almost complete and I knew there was no way I could deliver with out an epidural. My nurse was awesome and said we were gonna tell anesthesia I was only 7cm. Epidural was insertion was quick and pain free. After I got the epidural I felt amazing and was soon ready to begin pushing. I pushed for about an hour and he was finally born! My whole Labor was a quick 6hrs and everything went well and for that I am grateful!
Charlotte Elizabeth EDD: 12/29 DOB: 12/22 with inducement help
I had been having steady contractions that were five minutes apart for days. I ended up talking to my doctor who agreed that we could try some inducement meds for a couple of hours and see if that helps and if it hadn't I would just go home and wait. I was originally wanting to wait on inducement unless it was neccassary. I ended up changing my mind after getting no rest for those couple of days. I arrived at the hospital at 6am. The hospital was amazing. My room was ready and they had me all setup within minutes. I started with pitocin since my cervix was almost fully thinned out. I had the epi within an hour. Things kinda slowed down so they increased my dosage and broke my water. It didn't take long after that. Overall really easy labor.
On December 17th at 1:55AM I gave birth to Penelope Rose. 5 pounds 15 ounces.
I had a pretty good pregnancy overall. But my labor and delivery were rough! I was induced the day before my due date because of ongoing high blood pressure in the last few weeks. It was overall a pretty rough labor. I planned on an unmedicated natural vaginal birth. But complications came about in my 10th hour of labor. My poor little girls heart was dropping after every contraction. My body was contracting too hard and I wasn't dilating or moving her further down the birth canal. My midwife tried an epidural and a few other techniques to help my labor progress. But at midnight My doctor told me I needed an emergency c-section. My baby was in distress, her heart rate was dropping too low after contractions. I was pretty scared because everything was going the exact opposite I wanted it to, and I had never had any surgery before. They wheeled me into the OR and she was delivered. It was a little rough after she was delivered because I stopped responding to the pain meds! I got to see my baby girl in the arms of my husband which was so beautiful. But within seconds they gave me drugs to knock me out cold since I wasn't responding to the pain meds and anesthesia very well. Later my Dr. told me that my main problem which caused some of other problems was my pelvis was too narrow at the bottom to even allow a baby to pass through. Nothing went as planned, but everything that was done happened to get my little girl here safely. And I'm ok with that. I'm just happy she's here in my arms now. She's small but healthy. And I can't even describe the love I have for her!!
EDD: 12/14/15 Born: 12/22/15 via emergency c-section.
I'll update more when I'm able - still kind of out of it. Went in on 12/21 for my 41week appointment and Doctor sent us to the hospital due to high blood pressure. I was 3cm dilated. They monitored me all night, and by morning I was 6cm. Doc broke my water and started pitocin. Labored naturally from 6:30a-10:45a and then baby's heart rate dropped and wouldn't come back up, so they whisked me off to the OR. Nothing about this went as I had planned, but it's okay. I have a cute baby!
Team Green to Team BLUE!!! Introducing baby Matthew...
Original EDD: November 25th
Adjusted EDD: December 18th
Birthday: December 13th
Weight: 8 lbs 11 oz
I lost my mucus plug Friday morning (Dec 11, 39 weeks exactly) which kicked my butt into gear to finish the last few things I needed to get done. (Thank goodness or he wouldn't have had any clean clothes to wear home from the hospital!) I spent the day doing laundry and cleaning, then fell asleep on the couch downstairs while folding all his clothes. Saturday morning (Dec 12) DD1 woke me up around 7:30 wanting breakfast. As I was washing her a bowl for cereal, my water broke! Called the midwife, who confirmed it over the phone, and decided to take a wait-and-see approach for the contractions that hadn't yet started. She checked in throughout the day, and as the only contractions I was feeling were BHs, we decided to do a non-stress test to check on baby around the 12 hour mark. I finally felt the first real (but mild) contraction on the way to the NST, and had a couple more while we were there, but they were too far apart and too short to get excited about. I kept hoping they would pick up while we were already at the hospital, as I had been waiting for some action for 13-14 hours by then, but no such luck. My MW offered to check my cervix to see if there was any dilation yet, and if so, said she could do a stretch and sweep to see if that would nudge things along. I liked that option, so she checked and said I was about 2-3 cms dilated. She did the s&s, and said she figured I was now about 3-4 cms. We planned to touch base again around the 24 hour mark if nothing happened overnight, and we went home to wait some more. DH made me some eggs when we got home, and I had a few more contractions, but they were still sporadic. It was then about 11, so I went upstairs to try to get some rest. Around 12:20 or so, they finally started getting regular and feeling like real contractions. They were about 5 mins apart for half an hour or so before DH came upstairs to check on me. He took one look at me and said it was time to go to the hospital. I wasn't sure, as my MW had said to let them establish a pattern for about an hour, and it hadn't been that long yet. DH was insistent though, so I called my MW after he helped me get dressed again. We were in the car on the way to the hospital by 1 am, and arrived at the hospital at 1:22. Contractions got stronger and closer together the whole way there, and were only about 2 mins apart by the time I got up to L & D. We hurried to the room, and I barely had time to get changed into the gown between the contractions. I felt like I was ready to push almost as soon as I was dressed in the hospital gown and on the bed. My first MW was already at the hospital as one of her other clients had just finished having her baby, and the second one ran into the room as I started pushing. I can't remember how many pushes it took to get him out, but he was born at 1:52 am, exactly 30 mins after we got to the hospital!! (I am SOO glad I listened to DH when he said it was time to go!)
We came home last Monday (Dec 14), and are both doing well. I had fun shocking all the teachers by picking my daughters up from school that day, hehe! His big sisters and brother all love him to bits and so does DH.
EDD: 12/24 Born: 12/13 9lbs 2oz, 22in. HUGE, I know!!! And she was early!!!
Went to a concert Friday night, on the way home I was feeling some major menstrual type cramps, which lasted throughout the night. At 9am I felt like I had to pee, but my hubby was in the shower, I moved a little & some liquid leaked out. I thought I was peeing on myself, so I just stayed still until he got out. When I got up to go pee, more leaked out & as I turned around to sit on the toilet about half a cup came out. I still thought I had peed, but knew it could have been my water breaking. I took a shower & within an hour the contractions started. I had never had any BH so I thought this was my first ones. They were 5-8 min apart immediately & we started timing them. The pain was pretty severe by 10am. I called L&D & told them what happened, they told me to come in by 3pm in case my water did break. I labored at home until 2pm, then we headed to the hospital. I was checked around 3pm. Water was broken & contractions were 2-4 min apart, lasting about a minute, minute & a half. I was 4cm & was admitted. Labored without meds until 7pm (hot shower helped) but then I couldn't take the pain. I wasn't getting any breaks. I was dilated to 6cm. My birth plan was to go natural so we tried a pain med injection but it did nothing. Got the epidural and within 5 min, I felt absolutely nothing. I rested, had visitors, I was feeling great! I couldn't even tell if I was having contractions. At 10pm they checked me & I was 10cm! Time to push. I still couldn't feel a thing, so they turned my epidural wayyyyy down, and a sweet nurse told me when to push with each contraction. An hour later I could really feel every contraction
& was pushing away. She was born at 12:24am. I felt every part of her come out. Second degree tear on the bottom, one on the side & one on the top. Pushing out the placenta & getting stitched up for an hour was excruciating, but overall the birth was pretty textbook & easy. I'm delighted to have her home, we just love her so much. My husband took her newborn photos
Charles Gale "Charlie" Born on December 20, 2015 at 11:36 p.m. EDD December 22, 2015 8 lbs 4 oz 21 inches
I had an induction set for December 23 if he didn't come on his own, and I was really hoping he would. On Saturday the 19th, I went to see Star Wars with my husband and in laws and afterwards when I went to the bathroom to wipe, I noticed a bit of spotting. My husband and I decided to walk around the mall to look for some Christmas gifts and I felt off the whole time. Tired and heavy and I just wanted to go home.
So after shopping, we went home and I took a nap on the couch and tried to relieve some of the slight back pain I was having. I continued to spot off and on throughout the rest of the night.
The next morning, woke up around 9ish and I still had back pain. But it was light so I chilled with my hubby on the couch and watched an episode of Jessica Jones. The pain started to get stronger and I didn't know if it was contractions but I timed them anyway. They were about 5 to 6 minutes apart so I told my husband that I was gonna take a shower and we would pack out bags (because we're procrastinators lol) and should probably head to the hospital just in case.
By the time I got out of the shower, the pain was stronger and closer together so I was glad we were going. We got to the hospital around 2 pm and got admitted. They checked to see if I was dilated and I was 5 cm and having contractions from 3 to 5 minutes apart. They asked if I wanted an epidural and I held off for just a bit because the pain was bearable but I got it about 2 hours later when I was 6 cm dilated. Then they broke my water. As the night went on, I progressed fairly well. Every time they checked, I was 1 to 2 cm dilated even more. Around 8:30pm, I had tons of pressure and when they checked I was at about a 9. Soon after I was at a 10 and the nurses had me to start practice pushing. (At this point I totally pooed the table and I knew it but I know it happens and didn't say anything)
The pushing was hard because of all the pressure and I worked up a sweat very quickly. The doctor wasn't there yet and the nurse that was instructing me to push told me to stop until she got there because she couldn't deliver the baby. That was the hardest part! Not being able to push whenever I contraction hit! They had to turn me on my side to help to not push and told me to pant like a dog when I had contractions. Weird but it did help. I kept asking, When's the doctor coming? I can't do this much longer!"
She showed up about 15 minutes later and at that point things were such a blur. I just started pushing and before I knew it I looked down and there was my beautiful baby boy. I could hardly believe it!
They told me I did very well and only pushed for an hour and I had a 2 degree laceration. But as they say, It was worth it!!!
My birth story is a long one, I apologise. I was admitted to the hospital to be induced due to pregnancy induced hypertension and after waiting a week for a place on the labour ward they noticed her heart rate was low while I was being monitored so I was rushed down to the labour ward. They thought they were going to have to rush me in to an emergency c section but her heart rate came back up so they started the induction process. First they broke my water and then placed me on the oxytocin drip. I started to feel contractions about half an hour later but there was no pain there so I went until I was 5 cm with no pain relief. I then decided to have the epidural because even though I was still handling my contractions fine they said it could take a couple of hours for the anasteisiologist to get to me. Well even though I decided to get the epidural it didn't work, they even tried stronger medication through the epidural and even that didn't work. When I got to 7cm my contractions became painful and gas and air was a god send. There were many scares through my labour where her heart rate dipped and doctors had to be called. They had to take a blood sample from her head to make sure she was getting enough oxygen and thankfully the results came back saying that her oxygen levels were good. They also had to place a clip on her head to keep an accurate track of her heart rate. Basically everything seemed like it was going wrong it was a very scary process and by the time I eventually got to 10cm I was exhausted because I hadn't slept for 3 days. I pushed for almost 2 hours and her heart rate was dropping during the contractions so they decided that we needed some assistance so they used forceps, it was the scariest moment of my life and I had to have an episiotomy but 4 contractions later and she was out. That's when we realised that her heart rate had been dropping because the cord was wrapped around her neck. The second she was placed on my chest everything I had just been through was forgotten, all the pain and the scares and worries were all gone because my beautiful angel was finally here and healthy. Pregnancy and childbirth really is a miraculous thing, our bodies truly are amazing and I'm thankful every day. Congratulations to those of you who have already had your babies and good luck to those of you still waiting, you'll be holding your bundles of joy before you know it.
Just like with my DD, my water spontaneously broke 39w2d while sitting on the couch. We made our way to the hospital and was admitted right away. 4 hours after my water broke, I still was not having any contractions. We started pitocin to kick things off and boy did it work. In 45 min, I went from 3cm to fully dilated. Little man was crowning when the anesthesiologist showed up but they let me get the epi as long as I sat still. Not easy but I did it! They had just enough time to give me a booster shot of the good stuff before they flipped me on my back to push. 3 pushes later, my son was born. I was only in labor for an hour and it was only 5 hours after my water broke!
Baby and I are doing well. I wish you all luck and love with your new babies!
Jonathan was born 12/14/2015 weighing 3760 kg and 54 cm long. We had a really dramatic emergency c-section and are still recovering. Baby is doing great.
Jaxon Daniel EDD 12/11 DOB 12/16 8 lbs 9 oz 22 inches
My labor started off pretty mild and comfortable. They induced me 4 days after my due date at about 7 pm. We started with an intense membrane sweep, which was pretty painful. After a couple hours they broke my water and my contractions finally started to hurt and I was about 5 cm. I got an epidural, which I was terrified for but the pain was very minimal. I labored comfortably until 8 cm at about 2 am. From there things started to get really uncomfortable. I started to feel a lot of pressure from each contraction and I wasn't dilating. They tried the peanut and moving me around but my baby's heart rate would drop and I'd end up back in my original position. The doctors continued checking for changes in the cervix but nothing was happening. My contractions intensified and I started to feel everything in my pelvis. Every time they checked my cervix the pain increased. My cervix ended not dilating because my baby couldn't fit properly into pelvis. They decided to fill back up my amniotic sack and see if it would help get him into position. They had already put in something to monitor my contractions through my cervix. Inserting that was also painful because the doctor had to reach around the baby's head to enter the tube. They also used that tube to fill up my amniotic sack and they hoped the tube would rough up my cervix and help me dilate. I had finally reached about 9.5 cm but the baby wasn't dropping enough. Two times they had me try pushing well the doctor tried to push back my cervix but both attempts failed. Finally I was fully dilated at 12:50 and I started pushing. I was in so much pain I could barely tell when I was having a contraction. With each push the doctor tried to open up my cervix with her hands. They gave my until 3 to have a natural birth so I was giving it my all. Eventually I opted for suction to help me get him out. My cervix was so irritated putting on the suction was excruciating. I pushed for 2 hours with hardly any breaks and at the end of my last set of pushed the doctor started pulling him out. This was the worse pain of my life and I can't believe I did it. At that point the NICU was already in the room because of the suction and because my baby has a cleft lip and palate. They immediately took him away and at the time I didn't realize he wasn't breathing. I was in so much pain and so much was going on. He finally started breathing and I got to hold for a few seconds but could hardly focus because they were sewing up my labia tear which they numbed but not the entire area. I wish I could say as soon as he was here I forgot about all the pain but they stripped him away before I could even process what was happening. I ended up feeling everything in my pelvis because he was blocking the epidural. He ended up pooping but luckily didn't swallow any because he wasn't breathing. He still ended up in the NICU for 9 days because he got an infection, probably from my water being broken for more than 14hrs. It's been the hardest week of my life and I can't wait to finally take him home Christmas morning. I love him more than I ever thought possible.
I did it!!!! Had a sweep on Tuesday, just over 24 hours and water broke, came in at 730 and didn't have contractions so sent home until 12... Came back and they were going to induce bit my body kicked into high gear and he was born by 3!
Riley Jean kahoku'okealoha L was right on time today!
EDD: 12/24 Born: 12/24 7 lbs 1 oz 21 inches
Had a membrane sweep on the 22nd. Did a lot of walking and errands on the 23rd. Started to think nothing was gonna happen. I slept for 40 mins before I went to the bathroom at 1:40am came back to bed and my husband woke up suddenly (he's a crazy deep sleeper) and asked me if I was ready to go to the hospital. I laughed and said I wish and he knocked right back out. Two minutes later I felt a small gush that felt like pee or menstral blood. I ran back to the bathroom and was confused as I wasn't sure if it was my water breaking. Few minutes later I started contractions. I waited like an hour before I called the hospital to see if I should come in. They said yes, so I woke the hubby up and we packed a few things and headed over.
In triage around 3/3:30 am they tested and they said it looked pretty sure my water did break. They checked my cervix and said I was 4cm. They got us in a room and I labored. I was gonna try for natural but if I needed the epi I would take it. I labored til about 8:30 when it started getting really bad. I first asked what other pain med I could use and we decided to try a med that began with a F, I was to concentrated on the contractions. And quickly after that I decided to get the epi. By time the other medication wore off the epi was in and it was amazing. They told me I had made it between 8-9 cm. I tried napping and they came back around 12:30 and told me I was completely dilated but I was feeling nothing so they decided to try let me labor a bit more before trying to push. At 1:30 they came back and had me do some pushes. At 2 they called the doctor in since her head was already crowing a lot. After 9 pushes she was out at 2:26. I couldn't believe it cause it was so painless. She said I had a small tear.
We are doing great though and we love her. Still working on getting the breastfeeding thing down.
So yesterday I was 6 days late and so over being pregnant so I asked my midwife to strip my membranes at my appt at about 11:30am. I got home and laid down for a nap since I had been up super early thanks to insomnia. Didn't fall asleep because contractions started around 1pm. They felt super crampy, almost like gas, which was different than with my first and I kind of felt like I was constipated so I was wondering if I had to poop and that was making me contract. The contractions kept coming though and quickly got to 5min apart. My sons labor was really long so I wasn't really in a rush. Called my midwife and she said to head in soon so my husband showered and we headed in. On the way there my contractions got super close together, like 2-3 min. I blame the bumpy roads! Got to the hospital about 4:45pm and went through check in and to be evaluated. Midwife checked me about 5pm and I was already 7 cm!!! Everyone rushed and got us to our delivery room quickly because I wanted an epidural. Sat for the epidural while enduring contraction after contraction and just as he was finishing up I felt the urge to push!! Got checked again and baby was crowing! So clearly they weren't going to numb me up! Pushed for 10min through 3 contractions and she came at 6:04! Just 5 hours after my first strong contraction!! I still shocked at how fast it happened and that I did it naturally. My son was 10lbs and I just can't believe how much easier this delivery was on me. I only needed a couple stitches and I'm walking around no problem today. Such a relief! We are in love with our little Christmas Eve baby. She LOVES to nurse and seems very easy going. My 2.5yo son came to meet her today and he was so so so sweet and gentle! Such a relief!
Labored for 17 hours, pushed for one. Caved and got the epidural but it saved my life during the contractions. 2nd degree tear but it was all worth it for him. Just loving having our little one home with us now!
By the time I got to the hospital it was too late to get an epidural and out she came fast and furious! Not very fun! 3 hrs from start to finish...what a crazy night!
Zachary born 13 days late on Christmas Day! Perfect little miracle. Born at 4:19pm and was 9lbs 4oz. Got to fully dilated within 8 hours but he got stuck trying to get out. Took 4 hours of pushing, me being wheeled to a different hospital and almost delivering in the ambulance but he finally got here with no extra assistance. Unfortunately he was back to back so my spine was in agony but I done it all with just laughing gas. Breastfeeding difficult but we're slowly getting there
Owen Sebastian Chen Born 12-25-15, 11:16pm. EDD 12-30-15 Born via VBAC in less than 5 hrs! 7lbs, 20in.
Props to the moms who went natural birth. Our labor progressed so quickly that the pain became unbelievable. Fortunately we got the epidural before pushing just in time and it worked great.
Harrison Robert EDD: 12/16 Born: 12/18 - Scheduled Induction 8lbs 15oz - 20 1/2 Inches
Went in at 11:00 to start the induction process at 2 cm dilated 70% effaced. The pitocin kicked in relatively quickly. My water broke and I was at 5 cm by 8:00. Requested the epi but unfortunately started having excrutiating contractions before it could be administered. I began pushing at 9:30 when I was fully dilated. He was still positioned too high but the nurse was confident I could push him into place. I felt like we were making good progress as the baby's head was visible. After 3 1/2 hours of pushing the doctor decided the baby wasn't going to fit and C-section was the only option. Worst part of the experience was waiting for the anesthesiologist before going in for the C-section. My body continued to contract and every part of me wanted to push. The rest happened so quickly but hearing him cry for the first time was the best moment of my life. The nurses in the room gasped at how big he was. Harrison lost almost a poun before leaving the hospital but he is feeding like a champ (as I type this).
Baby Boy Nicholas EDD 12/14 Born 12/21 @ 4:30pm 8lbs 15.5oz, 21.75 inches long.
I was scheduled for a 9am induction due to being 41 weeks on 12/21, started having regular contractions at 8pm on 12/20, contractions were 5-10 minutes apart and 1 minute long, my OB told me to come in when contractions were 4-6 minutes apart, we arrived at the hospital at midnight, got set up with contraction monitor and fetal HR monitor.
I had a very elevated blood pressure (for me) that concerned OB (all my blood pressures had been normal except the one at 40+2 that was slightly elevated, blood work was ordered the first time and it was normal, during labor I know they did blood work for Pre-E but honestly I don't remember if it was normal by then).
I labored for a few hours at the hospital, tried water and a couple oral meds eventually asked for the epidural (much to my OB's relief). OB checked me as soon as I got to L&D and my water still hadn't broken so the OB broke it, I got the epidural and they started a very low dose of pitocin since my contractions were still not very consistent (3-6 minutes apart and he wanted them to be more regularly timed). Eventually, I was checked again and I was 10 cm pushed a few times but the baby wasn't descending at all. At this point despite trying a few different positions and nothing helped (I even managed to try to push from all-fours despite the epidural, which shocked my nurse). Evidence of significant meconium was found so the decision was made it was time to get the baby out so I was moved to the OR and given a spinal for a forceps delivery, baby's back was to mine (sunny side up?) and head was tilted like he was trying to see where he was going versus chin tucked like it should have been, as soon as the OB got the baby's head moved I pushed him out very quickly by myself (apparently I have a very strong pelvic floor). My OB and nurse were both thrilled, I think they both thought we probably were headed to a c-section at this point. Unfortunately, my foley catheter was dry so they ended up needing to push quite a bit of saline. Also since my blood pressure was high and my O2 Saturation were low I was kept in L&D the entire night for observation because I was not stable enough for Mother Baby and Nicholas had to be monitored for 12 hours due to the meconium exposure. I spent a day&night on Mother Baby before we were discharged. I had an epistomy due to needing the forceps so I'm still pretty sore.
BF has been a challenge but we are working on it (10 different midwives have said he's latching great, but it hurts and it is really hard to get him to stay put once he's latched, I love my pump and getting a break a couple times a day).

P.S. Epidurals are AMAZING!

EDD: 12/15

We were Team Green so we were anxiously waiting
to see the baby!
We are so in love with our beautiful baby girl and enjoying getting to know her and adjusting to life with a baby!
EDD 12/12
Born 12/19
7 lbs 13 oz, 20.15 inches long
I was scheduled for induction the morning of 12/18.
Say hello to Christopher Nickolas!

At 2:27 pm I heard the most beautiful sound and what we have be waiting for for so long! They ended up checking her weight 3 times cause everyone swore she was bigger than 8 lbs, lol.
Sorry for any typos!
EDD: 12/29
DOB: 12/22 with inducement help
Born: 12/22/15 via emergency c-section.
Born: 12/13
9lbs 2oz, 22in.

We had a really dramatic emergency c-section and are still recovering.
Baby is doing great.

Props to the moms who went natural birth. Our labor progressed so quickly that the pain became unbelievable. Fortunately we got the epidural before pushing just in time and it worked great.

Born 12/21 @ 4:30pm
8lbs 15.5oz, 21.75 inches long.
