Happy Friday! What are your plans for the weekend?

This week has been so long!

Tonight H and I are going to finish up our Christmas shopping and then go out to eat to celebrate the fact that I got a 4.0 my first semester back in college after a 3 year break! So excited. :) I think that I am going to have him take me to my favorite fried chicken place. Yum...

Tomorrow we are attempting to assemble our crib. I want to make sure that all of the parts are there/in good order, so we will spend a large majority of the day doing that. Then tomorrow night we are going out with some friends for Hibachi. Looking forward to that.

Sunday is devoted to wrapping presents and lounging around in my PJs all day.

So what are you all doing?

Re: Happy Friday! What are your plans for the weekend?

  • Tonight we are most likely going out to finish some Christmas shopping.

Tomorrow, cleaning house a little bit in the morning then going to Disney in the afternoon/evening on our one decent day of weather to see the Osbourne lights at Hollywood Studios.

Sunday we will be finishing up any shopping we might still have, hanging around the house, and prepping for my dad and step mom to come over on Christmas Eve...
  • Loading the player...
  • Binge-watching Sens8 again tonight!!

Tomorrow morning we'll do a breakfast and some shopping and then DH and his friend is assembling the crib and the compactum and hopefully we'll paint as well.

Sunday MIL is coming for a visit.

    Very relaxed weekend :)

Osbourne lights are my favorite part of Disney this time of year!!
  • Tonight- getting nails done and eyebrows threaded for our reveal party tomorrow!! And I Need a hamburger for dinner already requested it!

Tomorrow- Already requested my favorite Mexican restaurant for breakfast. Hopefully a nap. Then REVEAL party in the evening

Sunday- Cleaning up the spare room that will be the new baby room and then some laziness.

  • We too are finishing up Christmas shopping tonight (I just got paid! Wahoo!) and having a wrapping party after my son goes to bed, probably while watching Love Actually.

Tomorrow is my niece's 6th birthday party at one of those play gym places so I need to find socks that don't have holes in them. Ugh. Also, I just realized that we are not going to be able to make it to my ILs for Christmas Eve (oh, so sad...) so we are going to bring all the presents for that side of the family to the party so the kids will be able to open our gifts even if we aren't there. That just means that we need to have everything all set by the time we leave, which could be an absolute disaster. We'll see...

Sunday is a HUGE day. I have to be at church early to rehearse with the choir and for the Pageant. During the service, I am lighting the Advent wreath and singing a special song (I am more nervous about lighting the candles...last time I almost lit my hair on fire!). Then, I am directing the Joyful Noise Makers (our children's choir) in leading the Pageant. My son has been begging to be part of it, but he is only 2 and I feel like he might get really nervous and shy when the time comes, so I am playing that by ear. Then, heading to my mom's for Sunday Supper and probably a nap to prepare for...the Christmas Vespers Concert at 5pm. We are doing two sets along with 5 sing-along carols and it is just a whole buncha music...and standing. I am also the only one singing my part (Alto 1) so I really have to be on the ball. MH is serving as head usher for the concert so my mom and sisters will be wrangling my son. I know he is going to rush the chancel to try to sing with us. We also have to wear white tops...and there is no way I have a single white top that isn't stained in some fashion. I may just wear one of my funeral dresses with a white cami underneath and call it a day. So, busy but fun weekend ahead!

  • Tonight - my work holiday party! They go ALL out and it's a pretty grand affair. We're staying in downtown Baltimore and DD is staying with my parents. Yay for a much needed parents night out, but I still have anxiety about leaving her overnight. Just paranoid mind that thinks about absurd things.

Saturday - likely trying to get all the Christmas shopping done! Mainly have my moms gifts to get, some stocking stuffers, and gift cards.

Sunday - going to breakfast with Santa and then going to the Ravens game. Not really excited at all since almost all of our star players are injured, and we have no hopes for a playoffs run so they're just going to be playing their 2nd/3rd stringers to see what they can do. whomp whomp.

  • Tonight: getting a mani/pedi before my work holiday party tomorrow night. Tomorrow morning: brunch with a girlfriend. Tomorrow afternoon: getting my hair done for said party (it's a black tie dinner at the Sr. VP's beach house). Tomorrow night: going to the party. Sunday: finishing our packing to go to my parents' for the holidays, cleaning the house (DH's parents will be in town when we get back from my parents' house). Super-early Monday morning (it might as well still be the weekend at that point!): flying up to my parents' house.

@dsmith211 Are you in the Orlando area?  We are about a 3 hour drive from Disney, so I'm thinking we'll probably be getting some annual passes once this LO is old enough.
  • Tonight: Christmas play practice. It's the most unconventional Christmas play in the world (my mom writes them every year). Basically characters from different books come to life, etc. I'm an angel who gets stuck in the Christmas Story and comes out as a pregnant Mary. It's actually pretty hilarious.

Tomorrow: play and "work" party - I need to bring something and have no idea what to make

Sunday: family time at my mom's as usual

We're pretty excited. I got to see them last year during a race I ran at Disney but the last time DH got to see them is when he was younger. This is the last year for them bc of all the new construction that will be going on so we wanted to make sure we got them in.

@swflJD We live out on the west coast in the Tampa-ish area - about a 2 hour drive from Disney. We have Disney passes right now, but they expire soon and we're downgrading them a little bit till LO gets a little older. I would definitely recommend them though. Some of the new packages they have seem really good for LO's as well as they come with free photo downloads from the Disney photographers which we would definitely be using more with a LO in tow.
  • We are going to be finishing up decorating, and painting the nursery, and cleaning a bit. But overall I'm hoping for a low stress weekend since next weekend will probably be crazy.
  • We're taking DD to the Baltimore aquarium for her 2nd birthday on Saturday. Then we're grilling steaks and baking cupcakes for birthday part 2. Our best friends (a married couple and their 2 year old daughter) are coming up for the weekend to join in the festivities. I'm so excited!! :#
  • Tonight: dinner and driving around to see the Christmas lights

Tomorrow: Company Christmas luncheon, then date night with DH

Sunday: no real plans. Finish Christmas shopping and wrapping.
  • @dsmith211We live on the west coast, too, but in the Naples area. I haven't been to Disney in a few years, but I'm sure we'll be going more after LO is old enough to enjoy it.  I'll definitely have to look into their new photo packages!
  • Finishing the kitchen. It isn't what I wanted long term but it will update things to sell so we are no longer planning on being here long term. Replacing the random paneling that is the back splash so everything is the bead board then all the walls/ back splash will be blue. Also changing out all the outlets, switches, and covers to white instead of ivory and black like they are now. I'd also like the change out the light fixture but I'm out of money. I do have fabric to make a new valance. Here are some before and during pics so you can see what I'm working with and see how the blue looks where I have it done.

  • Scrubbing the carpet in the soon to be nursery... atleast twice. Spending time with SO. Eating and relaxing!
  • I'm getting a pedicure and a manicure as we speak! Today is my nephew's 1st birthday but they live in Alaska and we're in Michigan, so tomorrow we're having his Skype birthday party where me, husband, grandma, our mom, dad & stepmom, and possibly our brother & his girlfriend will all be in attendance. And I'm making a cake for it...nothing fancy - Pillsbury chocolate! Husband and I need to finish our Christmas shopping and wrapping gifts. And I'm going to be domesticated and attempt sugar cookies. I also want to go with husband driving around looking at Christmas lights. Who knows what will actually happen this weekend!
  • Wow everyone is so busy this weekend!!

I was off today. Meet a very good friend in philly for the day. She's moving to Europe next month so we wanted to meet up before she leaves. We did some shopping and eating. Our favorite things!!

Tomorrow we are getting our tree!! I'll also be recovering from today... I'm beat.

Sunday is lazy day. I have to hang around the house so I can pee in a jug all day. I'll be making the rest of our Christmas cookies and shopping for Christmas dinner. Steeler game in the afternoon.

I also would like to start to clean out the spare room for the nursery but it's packed right now with Christmas stuff. That might have to wait until after the new year.

  • DH and I are headed to Vegas with my cousin and her hubby for DH birthday. So excited, even though it might be the most mellow sober Vegas trip I have ever taken! Can't wait to relax and get out of town before the madness of Christmas.
  • This weekend will mostly be working and packing. I need to clear out a few cases before I leave for Christmas break, finish wrapping the last of the presents, finish writing up the last of the cards, hopefully get some progress done on current book project (which is behind schedule -- not drastically so, but enough to make me nervous about hitting the deadline).

Monday I'm heading out to see my parents in Alabama for a few days. So... lots to do before then.
  • Reading these is making me want to cry a little!! I also need to do some Christmas shopping but work is too busy..
Tomorrow I have to work 10am until 10pm and Sunday I am working 8-4.
I am currently on my way home from work (it's 1:15 in the morning here)
So my weekend consists of work and being constantly tired/moody.
Yours all sound great... Enjoy ladiess!
  • Tonight we went out with the neighbors to get Mexican food at one of our favorite Mexican restaurants.
Saturday:  Going to dump recycles at the city dump (they have a recycling area).  Attempt to brave Walmart for grocery items.   Get a couple last minute Christmas gifts (gift cards).  Hubby's company Christmas party which Im dreading.  They  usually have open bar.  I like open bar and usually  have to drink to get through it.  I can't drink this year.  Ugh!
Sunday: Whatever didn't get finished from Saturday, plus watching the Panthers game.  Wrap presents

Sunday packing because Monday we fly to Germany for the holidays!
  • DH got home last night from a week long work trip in London, so catching up on family time this morning, then he has some Christmas stuff to finish up. I have to finish holiday tipping for our building staff and gifts for the preschool teachers.

Sunday is our first day for relaxing and making family dinner the entire month, I'm so excited.
