Hello! (and some advice needed)

Hello my name is Brittany and I just found out (as in on Monday) I am pregnant. Me and my fiancé are super excited! We were not sure how far along we were so we scheduled a appointment at the OBGYN. Well the first a appointment was really scary. I guess I should put out there this is mine and his first child. The first thing I did was get a ultrasound and the ultrasound technician immediately started scaring me. She started saying things like oh no the sizes are not measuring up and using huge words that I have never heard of. Well long story short they said that my uterus was measuring to be 7 weeks, but my yolk sac was only 5 weeks. (I do not know if that makes since to anyone else). The ultra sound tech also said that she thought she might be picking up a heart beat, but it was faint so she was not sure. Well after all of this is said my doctor said that the baby looked good and everything looked good, but she wants me to come back on Tuesday to see if the baby is growing and see if we can hear the heart beat stronger. She could not come out and say everything was okay though. I know this a lot of information to start out with especially considering this is my first post on this forum, but I am worried that the baby is not growing or something and was hoping someone has had a similar situation. (Also if any of this sounds dumb I am sorry I am just worried and I have been debating all day if I should even post this to start out.)

    i could see how this would be worrying. honestly though, the only thing you can really do is try to keep calm & wait until your next US. if the doctor isn't overly worried, i wouldn't be either. good luck!

    That early in the pregnancy there are so many unknowns. If you are not sure of your ovulation dates it can take time to pinpoint the time of conception. It's very common for due dates to be adjusted even when you are a little further along. Also, often times they do not even try to listen for a heart beat that early because it is very hard to find/hear. A lot of doctors will not even see you until around 12 weeks or even further. I'm sorry your tech/dr was saying a lot of things that scared you. If the dr in the end said everything is looking good you should trust her. She would not mislead you. The first weeks are nerve wrecking but just try to breath deep and do some reading. (a book NOT the Internet)

    @JLaVO888 thank you that makes me feel better. I guess I'm just uneasy and I already love this little baby so much and I just want everything to work out.

    That is very common with early ultrasounds. The baby is so tiny and the machines can have a hard time finding them at all. If your doc said everything looked fine I would trust that and wait for your next appt and see what they say then. It sounds normal to me though.
