So I had my 36 week visit yesterday and I am 3cm dilated and cervix is 80 % thinned and she is heads down in position -1 station. Question for women who have giveb birth before- is labor soon or do I have time? Dr wouldn't speculate. This is my first so I have no idea. I know baby will come when she's ready etc. .. just want other mother's opinion based on their experience.
Re: pre term labor?
To others question, unless I'm in active labor or have broken water my dr doesn't admit until 6 cm dilation. At that point she'll break water to induce bc of the concern of a quick labor/not making it to the hospital on time.
My doctor also starts regular cervical checks at 36 weeks. I was googling to find out the medical reason for cervical checks last night and couldn't find any information that looked legitimate.

Now I am 37w2d, I've lost pieces of my plug, I am dilated to 1cm and cervix is high and hard. I was only checked this time because I went to my OB with contractions 3minutes apart and becoming stronger. Thought with how last time went it may be smart to go and be checked. Completely Braxton Hicks! Talk about angry momma bear who is done with pregnancy! Haven't had a contraction since except for one today.
My point is, it doesn't matter at all what any one will tell you. Opinions are great, but don't base anything on them. This is pregnancy two and as you can see, two totally different outcomes from the same mommy. Every pregnancy is different. I wish they weren't because then I'd hopefully have DD#2 by now. Hahaha!
