I pretty much just stared at my computer at work all week and accomplished almost nothing. I'm pretty sure that this is my new normal until LO arrives.
I dropped something on the kitchen floor; now its as good as gone to me as I can no longer bend over so waiting to see how long it takes H to finally pick it up
My confession is that I am so very done done done with the pregnancy limelight. I feel like a deer in the head lights, I live in a teeny tiny town and the baby is a big deal. It's very sweet, and appreciated, but I am really an introvert and I struggle. my boyfriends mother and some folks are organizing a baby shower, and scheduled it when I will be 38 weeks. I feel terrible but I want nothing to do with the party.
Husband: You wanted an epidural for that, didn't you? Me: Yes! If I can't handle a foot cramp how am I going to deal with labor?!?
My confession: I have no intention of dealing with labor without an epidural. If I could I'd have the anesthesiologist meet me in the parking lot, and I don't care what anyone thinks.
I confess that I had a few sips of DH's wine last night when we went out for our anniversary. I also confess that while eating my delicious left overs today of parm chicken and this amazing pasta, my favorite part was the arugula with cherry tomatoes and lemon. Now all I can think about is getting more arugula with cherry tomatoes and lemon. Baby apparently likes salad more than pasta (must not be my kid) lol
1) Christmas is one week away and I still haven't decorated the tree, finished buying gifts, or wrapped a single thing. 2) I have officially kicked my man out of bed until after the baby comes. 3) I'm seriously considering asking if I can go to part time because I'm so tired all the time.
I want to wear a sign to work tonight that says "Please don't talk to me about my pregnancy - specifically my size/body - or my dad's suicide. All other topics are fair game." People mean well, but yikes. Can't we chat about reality tv?

Not to scare you but even if you're dead set on an epidural, you might want to get some info/tips for delivering without one. I totally planned on one for my first and it wouldn't work for me. It finally worked on the 9th try. Yes, 9 epidurals. I would have stopped after like 3 tries but was so unprepared to deliver without it that I let the anesthesiologist keep trying. My sister has no problem getting one to work but with all 3 of her kids it quit working when it was time to push. Not saying it won't work for you, chances are it will. But, I know this time around I want an epidural but am getting info on doing it naturally as well.

My epidural never worked for me either
So crazy! I don't get how it can work for some but not for others. Did you have a horrible/long labor? I was induced at 37 weeks for preeclampsia and the first 12 hrs was contracting every single minute but not progressing past a one. That's when I got the epidural and then was in labor another 12 hrs. The epidural was so nice once it worked! I'm terrified of having to go without one this time. How did you cope? What did you do?
I wrapped everyone's Christmas gifts in bags from my baby shower. No shame. So everyone's gift bags have elephants and pastel colors and say "welcome baby" or "one cute little man". My family is going to be pretty surprised and hopefully they'll think it's as funny as I do. Reduce, reuse, recycle!

I had an epidural with my first, and fortunately it worked like a dream. But if it doesn't, I'll do what I need to do.
I bought a bag of Reese's Christmas Trees to put with my extended family member's gifts but I ended up eating most of them. My hubby's and son's are in their stockings and they're calling my name. Not sure if I can hold out for one more week!
DH is out tonight for dinner and to see the Star Wars movie. I decided to have a fun night with DD (she just turned 2) and we're having pizza and wings for dinner and I'm planning on doing nothing but watching Christmas movies and having popcorn tonight. And I'll be washing it down with a bag of Reeses trees I bought at target this morning . Very healthy Hopefully I dont regret it later haha.

I did the same this morning, more so because I wanted to have a few but instead I put a few with a gift and plan on eating the rest haha!

I normally hate Hershey's, but their white chocolate peppermint kisses are like crack! I'm so thankful they are in individual wrappers or I'm not sure I'd stop at 4 or 5. Ok I ate 8 in a sitting before the foil wrappers shamed me.
I did laundry 3 weeks ago and just folded it today after doing 2 more loads. Those two loads are now on the couch for another 3 weeks. Who needs folded laundry? And why don't we have machines that do it for us yet..?

I was induced at 37 weeks as well for IUGR and preeclampsia and was pretty much the same as you, I got the induction started and was contracting every 1-2 min without progressing past 3cm and was stuck at 3 for like 20 hours and they decided to break my water and about 5 min after that it got awful and they tried to do an epidural multiple times and it just never took. But she was born a little more than an hour after they broke my water so I had no choice but to stick it out. My body did what it had to and I'm glad because I didn't have much of a choice ha!

I've found magnesium oil prevents foot and calf cramps. It's awesome stuff - it relaxes your muscles and it helps me sleep too. You can buy it or make your own using magnesium flakes and water:
I can't remember the last time I shaved both legs at the same time. I'm averaging around 3/4ths to 1 leg every 4-5 days. Very sexy lol
I waxed my legs for the first time at 20ish weeks and just realized this week that the regrowth was super soft/fine (normal hair is very coarse) but it was like 1/4" long!! I was horrified. I attempted to wax again... yeah- NOT anywhere near flexible enough for that crap now. So I tried to shave. I have a clawfoot tub (no shower) and thought I would DIE before I finished. Even managed to cut myself for the first time in 10 years. It sucked all around. Told my husband i'd go by "Chewbacca" from now until delivery if I had to- I'm NOT doing that crap again until I can bend at the waist!!
