So I had my 17 week check up yesterday and I had no idea we were going to get to find out the gender! It was a great surprise! We are having a boy!!! So now we want to tell to surprise the parents as part of their Christmas presents. They think we're finding out the gender at the anatomy scan first week of January. We want to do something present-like but not sure what...
Re: Christmas gender reveal to GP's... Need ideas!
I like the idea of buying an ornament (blue in your case) and wrapping it up as a present for the grandparents.
For DH side I made a family tree and will be adding the baby in either pink or blue so they will figure it out that way.
You could do cookies with either blue or pink icing and have them open up the box of them.
Sorry, that's about as creative as I get at 9 in the morning haha!
So we decided to announce to both families on Christmas. We will wrap this poem along with another wrapped present that will say "it's a ..." on it.
I'll have my mom read the poem first then open the second present which will be a picture of the ultrasound with either a pink bow or blue bow tie.
Here's the poem we will be using ::
Ten little fingers, Ten little toes
Two little eyes, One little nose
One little mouth, two little ears
This poem will be lots of cheers
So is it pink, or is it blue
We think it's time that you all knew
The doctor searched while baby turned
With her next three words here's what we learned
((We are not including this part of the poem))
(1) She told us then, that it is true
We'll be buying lots of BLUE
(2) She told us then, that she thinks
We need to start buying lots of PINK
If you go the baked goods route, there are good/easy recipes for iced cookies, truffles with pink or blue inside, or cupcakes with pink/blue inside.
Another idea would be to assemble an "At Grandma & Grandpap's House" basket with a few onesies (one could be boy/girl about Grandpa and another boy/girl about Grandma), a book, a blanket, etc. Carters in particular has a lot of family-member themed onesies.
