Trying to Get Pregnant

I had a positive OPK with first pee of the day and also a rise in my BBT on the same day.

I had a positive OPK with first pee of the day and also a rise in my BBT on the same day.
Does that mean I'm ovulating today or was it some time yesterday afternoon or night since my temperature rose?

  • Thanks for the information. I thought there might be something wrong with my thermometer too, but I had my husband use it right after to just to see and it went to a higher temp when he used it. Also, I know this may sound a little unusual, but I went to the doctor a few hours later and they checked my temp and it was the same then too.

I would continue to HIO until you get crosshairs. Not only is it possible to have multiple LH surges in a cycle, but you could ovulate up to 48 hours after a surge so your temperature might have spike today and dip tomorrow.

That's super weird. But id still get one that goes to the hundredth. The Mabis is like $8. It's pretty unlikely to have the same temp everyday.
    My TTC History:
    2009: missed miscarriage #1 at 9 weeks (trisomy 16)
    2010: Infertility
2011: Diagnosis and treatment (low sperm count, anastrozole for DH, clomid for me + IUI)
    2012: Baby #1
    2014: Baby #2
October 2015: missed miscarriage #2 at 11 weeks (trisomy 22)

I have the iProven which has better ratings than the Mabis on Amazon. I agree it's weird. I took my temp and it was the same after three days so I handed it to my husband and he took his temp and his was half a degree warmer than me within a few seconds. That's why I don't think it's the thermometer.

I'm not sure what all acupuncture would do to your temp if anything, but fwiw I am getting acupuncture as well this month.

I get what you are saying, but your thermometer can "favor" temps even though it doesn't give the same temp every single time. Your chart is pretty obviously flat. and it's not normal to look like that.

  • Also, I don't think anyone mentioned this, but you aren't supposed to use FMU for OPKs. Technically your FMU contains urine from the day before (unless you also peed in the middle of the night), so the positive could be because of hormone levels from the night before.
