Last Minute Gift Ideas for Holiday Procrastinators

Starting this thread because I need help with man presents!

I have NO idea what to get my H, my dad, or my brother. I did get H new running headphones because he needs them but I either want to put together a few smaller gifts like that or get him something bigger, he's a writer. My brother is a very active (he's a triathlete) father of 4 and my dad is a teacher who loves to cook.

    I got my dad and BIL this waterproof Bluetooth speaker from Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00QAYEGCS?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00. I thought it was a good price.

    Does your dad use a Kitchen Aid mixer when he cooks? You could get him an accessory (like a new bowl or attachment) to go with it. I have a Kitchen Aid, and I would love to get something like that.

    Yeti cups/coolers/tumblers are a big thing around where I live right now. My sister gave my dad a 30 oz cup, and he loves it. It will keep ice for days.

  • Oooohhhh!! Great ideas!! Thank you ladies!!
  • My thing this year is specialized "baskets." My parents and my in-laws are both getting cold and flu survival baskets. I got plastic tubs from Dollar Tree and am filling them with cough drops, tissues, books/movie, an essential oil roller bottle of stuff to use instead of Vick's vapor rub, a jar of homemade soup mix, etc. Both sets of parents are constantly sick all winter so it will be appreciated. Plus, seriously easy, simple, and inexpensive.

    DH's brother and wife are getting a pancake breakfast basket. Homemade pancake mix, apple butter and maple syrup (we make both), a new, fun spatula, etc.

    I considered a movie night basket, a hot beverage basket, and an ice cream sundae basket as well.

    Those are great ideas!! DH would love the pancake breakfast basket! Too bad I'm already done his Christmas shopping.

    Hahaha! I take it for granted. I mean, it's a ton of time and work. It take approx. 40-50 gallons of sap to make one gallon of syrup. But we do it every March/April so we always have plenty. We won't be able to do it this coming year so I might be hoarding and rationing it a bit. lol. Which is hard as I use it to make everything from iced tea to teriyaki sauce.

  • If all else fails, everyone loves Smartwool socks, even if they're not the most exciting gift. Unless you live somewhere hot, I guess.
  • @LadySamLady not sure if your DH is into this kind of stuff, but I got DH a local bourbon gift box (Widow Jane).
  • I'm in the same boat and got so excited by the Yeti tumblers idea and they're sold out everywhereeeee :s

    someone is selling them on amazon for $80 per tumbler but I guess I'm not that desperate (yet).

  • I got my dad and brother travel toiletry bags, nice leather ones with lots of pouches and filled the bags with man toiletry stuff. EASY and quick!
  • These suggestions are all awesome!!!! Thank you everyone!!!

    I am definitely getting my brother a Fitbit! The yeti tumbler idea inspired me to get my dad a S'well water bottle as part of his gift! I'm nearly done now!!

    (I didn't read any responses before posting this)

    Brother: Active Basket: energy drink, case of water, granola/protein bars, socks, Gatorade/Powerade, Mios, trail mix
    Dad: Make him something like this:
    ETA: OMG what is with TB?! Where the H is the regular picture adding button?!

    Well I pasted a picture of a colander stocked with spatulas, spices, whisks, hot mitts, etc.

    H: He always needs DO, cologne, body wash, shampoo (I splurge and buy DH the nice stuff for Christmas), shaving cream, shave club membership, socks, underwear, candy, toothbrush, maybe a gift card for music, an armband thing he can put his phone in to listen to music while he's working out, etc

  • - locally brewed beers and locally distilled liquors for drinkers in the family who don't live in your area (or appreciate craft/small-batch concoctions);
    - these super sweet ninja cookie cutters for parents who like to cook/bake and want to share that hobby with their kids;
    - Nike tech fleece hoodies have been a big hit with jogger friends of mine this year, and they're also nice if your guy just likes to sit around in a sweatshirt but you'd like him to look a teensy bit more pulled together;
    - my go-to gift for dog owners is Marsh Dog nutria jerky treats: 100% organic meat (so even the most finicky feeder can't find fault with the sourcing), it's an unusual protein source so it rarely triggers allergies, and you're helping preserve Louisiana wetlands by supporting a market for the sale of this invasive, environmentally destructive species.
  • I got my dad a really nice Dutch oven last year because he had been wanting one but never got one for himself. He also loves to cook!

    I would look into the garmin fitness bands too :) I like the garmin ones better than the fitbits and I think they're more reliable. But that's just my opinion! I think it's worth checking out.

    There's actually a REALLY nice fitness watch made specifically for triathletes. I can't remember what it's called. It's more pricey than the Fitbit but if he's really into triathlons it can be really helpful for training!
