Okay, so we finally transitioned DD from rock n play to crib, and tonight she's started sleeping on her face. Not with her head turned to the side, but literally ON HER FACE. She's 6 months old. I've heard it's fine, but I guess I just need more opinions and reassurance. I don't know if I'll be able to sleep! Should I be turning her??
Re: Sleeping Face Down!
This is a tough one for me because when I told my Pedi that my son was doing this she told me to turn him. She said that when they are really young (can't remember the age), babies can fall into such a deep sleep that they don't even realize they can't breathe. Of course this scared the crap out of me.
BUT, I know my son was much younger than 6 months. At some point when they are rolling and more mobile you just have to let them sleep how they want to sleep. It could look worse than it actually is.
that being said my 8 & 18 year olds lived, so I guess it's fine.
