Advice on hurting nips?

Im 31 weeks pregnant, still not leaking but been having some awful pain on my nipples. They have been very sensitive to touch, they don't really look swollen or anything but I put a warm cloth on them and they still feel sore and achey. (Warm cloth = Internet search.) I asked my mom but her answer to any pregnancy question is drink more water and walk more. Any advice?

  • My advice is get used to it, because it doesn't get any better ;)

    I've had a lot more pain/soreness this time around. I'm going to start using a little nipple butter to see if that helps (I don't think the dry/flakiness helps the discomfort). I use Earth Mama Angel Baby nipple butter. You could try some of the cooling gel packs like for breastfeeding (Lansinoh makes some, among other brands), but at least for me, the thought of putting something cool on there right now is not appealing.

  • I would google some exercises you can do before bed and during the day if you have time.

    There are some with an exercise ball that are supposed to be awesome.

    Bahahahaha I read a post about hips then came back to the bump and totally thought this was it.
    LOL!! I figured that's probably what happened. I laughed right out loud when I read that though! So funny.

  • I've been using earth mama angel baby nipple butter on mine. They are often dry and rough this pregnancy, which is really uncomfortable. But this stuff seems to help. Coconut oil is also awesome stuff. Rub it on stretch marks, sore nipples, dry skin, it fixes everything. I use it for diaper rashes too.
