1st Trimester

Exhausted but can't sleep

I'm exhausted all day every day, but as soon as I get to bed at night all of a sudden I'm wide freakin awake and can't sleep at all. I don't think I'm worried or anxious about anything, this is driving me nuts. Anyone else having this problem, or a solution? In deperate need of a good night's sleep!

Re: Exhausted but can't sleep

  • this is a pretty common problem for most pregnant women.
i put a drop or two of lavender oil on my pillow to help me sleep. i also found relaxing, warm baths before bed helped. you can also speak with your doctor about possible options.

I have not expirienced this myself but DH (who was reading over my shoulder) said his sister was talking about how she takes a warm shower and uses some body wash that helps you sleep.

  • Are you napping at all during the day?

  • Benadryl or Unisom will become your friend. Good news is you'll likely get a reprieve for a few months during the 2nd trimester before it becomes too uncomfortable to sleep.

  • I have a meditation app on my phone that walks me through relaxing my whole body, I have found that helpful.

Lol, I could still sleep when I had the chance with my first.... I'm just trying to get all the sleep I can before I have 2 and never have the opportunity to sleep again ;) lol
