1st Trimester

First-timer concerns, advice appreciated!

I had a regular period a couple months ago and then about 14 days later, I woke up to blood-soaked panties. Could this have been a miscarriage?

I had BFP on 12/7 and I am now 5w4d based on LMP and having some pain across my lower back. When I called a doctor, she said it sounded muscular and to take Tylenol...

Has anyone else experienced this?

It just is strange because my boobs aren't really that sore like they were earlier in the week, no MS yet, just very tired and when I stretch backward I feel like a "tightness" in my belly, trying to pull me back to center..? And just very mild "period-like" cramps on left & right side every now and then. I have also been very bloated the past couple days, but not today.... Normal?

If you can't tell, first time pregnant so I'm literally googling every single twitch/ache/spasm/stubbed toe

  • This is really something that a doctor is going to have to answer for you. Every woman and every pregnancy are different. I'd advise against "googling" things. I hope everything works out :)

  • I'm also a FTM and can't believe the crazy assortment of things going on with my body and I'm just 1 person- I don't know if your bump month board is active yet but if you read the symptoms threads the variety of things people go through blows my mind.

I try to go by the motto if I'm not bleeding or crying from the pain of something it's probably ok. It might be terrible advice (for example if something goes on for a long time then it's something to ask about) but every change and twinge would drive me crazy if I thought it was all signs of something being wrong. I went 2x for "omg is this ok???" moments and both times I was fine and baby was great. I personally cling to the knowledge that the great majority of the time things are fine with moms and babies so unless something crazy is going on then I just lump myself into that category.

  • Step away from google... You could be one of the lucky ones that don't get morning sickness (I didn't. Still pregnant.) and I also had a lot of growing pains in my uterus early on. Talk to your doctor if you're really concerned, but as long as there's no blood, I'd say these sound pretty normal.

You're still really early too, so it could be that the hcg hasn't really affected your body yet.

  • Honestly most of those sound like earlier pregnancy symptoms, all of which can come and go. The further along I get the more tightness I feel in my pelvic region where my ute is. I'm 16 weeks and still very often bloated, some days more than others.

I'm confused about the bleeding mentioned- that was prior to your recent bfp yes? Even if not, sometimes women can bleed and it may be a SCH or nothing at all.

Just wanted to pop in and say that it's wildly unlikely that the bleeding a few months ago was a MC.  If you were only14 days into your cycle you may have not even ovulated yet, much less implanted.
  • OP, some people have ovulation bleeding. It's possible that's what your bleeding was, especially if it was 2 weeks after your period. It's not possible it was a miscarriage if your period was actually a period two weeks prior, because like pp said, it wouldn't have implanted yet.

  • The bleeding could have been a cyst rupturing. Js
