I said 13 weeks, but I FEEL like it starts right after my doctor appointment at 12-1. Once I hear the heartbeat again, I'll feel like it's time to move on.
I'm 10 weeks now and already feel like I have way more in common with 2nd tri women than first. I'm ready to leave MS and worrying about every cramp and wiping every time I pee and instead getting excited about nurseries and picking out names.

I said 13 because I'm afraid it will never come otherwise and I'm no longer convinced the symptoms end at the end of 1st tri!!
With my first pregnancy, I didn't get any MS until week 14. I thought I was going to be one of the lucky ones...until I started spending quality time with my head in a toilet after all the books say "your morning sickness is declining now as you're in your second trimester."
@TattoosandLace- That is absolutely what I am afraid of. I've pretty much just heart burn and fatigue, but I'm watching out for late MS because I simply can't be that lucky.
My doctor says that technically if you had three equal trimesters then second tri would start at 13w3d.. But he feels like since the first two weeks of first tri are non pregnant weeks he adds on to the length of first tri.

so he doesn't think it starts until 15 weeks. Hell no.

No no. He said 14 weeks and the other two tris are 13 and 13.
13 weeks 3 days is what I have heard. I am surprised women on here are already talking about how great the 2nd trimester is when I am a July 2 EDD and am only 11w4d.
Seems SO far away...I am due July 31st and I feel like I am always behind
I hear you. My due dates with my first two kids were May 23 and June 30 and I always felt behind on the boards. This time my due date just got moved up from July 7 to June 30 (again!) and I'm sticking here for that very reason - I like not being last. It's the little things.
In the glitter and Puppies side of my brain its 12 weeks, because that's next week for me! But in the logical side of my brain its 13 weeks 3 days. It is very interesting seeing it in a poll, thank you ladies!

Well I don't know how great the second trimester is, but I do know that I am feeling about 700000% better the closer I get to it. I'll be 12 weeks on Friday. It's on the cusp and close enough.

This. I'm pretty positive that no one has said anything about how wonderful it is because none of us are there yet. We've just been saying how nice is it that we're feeling more human as we approach the second tri.
There are some late June floaters that are really close to 13 weeks. I'm 12 weeks on Saturday and sometimes I feel like there's a light at the end of the tunnel and sometimes feel like I can't move without puking, so...
This uses actual developmental stages to divide up a pregnancy. From LMP to 12 weeks the embryo develops all the major organs and becomes a fetus. From 12 weeks to 27 weeks the fetus continues developing and reaches viability. From 27 weeks on the fetus finishes development and prepares for delivery. Here the second trimester begins at 12w 0d and the third at 27w 0d.
by Gestation:
With this method you take the 40 weeks of gestation and divide into three equal stages. Here the second trimester begins at 13w 3d and the third at 26w 6d.
by Conception:
This method is where you take the 38 weeks of post conception development, divide by three, into the three equal trimesters. Here the second trimester begins at 14w 5d and the third at 27w 3d.

I was coming to post this!
It depends on which theory the persons js referencing. All I know is that it is forever away.
Yes @BostonBaby1 doctors are required to try everything in their power to save a baby at 24 weeks at 23w6d they don't have to. Also why they won't allow you on cruises past 23w6d because cruises aren't equipped to be able to save a baby that small. Viability has changed to 24w due to an increase in technology.
I'm fairly certain sadly my symptoms are getting worse and like my mother will have ms the entire pregnancy. I'll be 12 weeks on Monday and I've thrown up more had more headaches and been more exhausted in the last week and a half then ever before
I'm 12-4 today and haven't thrown up in two days. The exhaustion is still there, but I see a light! Then again, last time I said that my ms picked right back up with a vengeance. My fingers are crossed that this is turning the second trimester corner!

I had MS all 9 months with DS (not just nausea either) so I'm fairly positive this pregnancy will be the same. Hang in there, if it happens to you, you won't be alone!

Same here 10 weeks and starting to feel much better. Nausea has subsided, I'm still exhausted as all hell though. I'm also letting go of worrying about cramps and stalking TP since I had a normal US and blood test results came back normal. I'm starting to get excited about registering which I plan to do after our 12 week appt provided all is well.
My ob told me 14 weeks, so that's what I've been going with. Just 3 more days, woo! Nausea has subsided, but I still just kind of spontaneously throw up (no warning nausea first) every once in awhile. So that's fun.
I'm with @Lindsayleigh1989. My ms has gotten markedly worse with more throwing up in week 11. I am afraid this is the beginning and not the end of the worst of it.
