Relaxed baby...

Anyone else have a really relaxed baby? She definitely has moments don't get me wrong! But she seems pretty calm for the most part. She just got over a cold and even though she had that mucous sound and was coughing and sneezing, she was still smiling and happy. I'm a FTM but I really thought I'd hear more crying and have more sleepless nights (please don't let this jinx it!!!). She latched right away too and eats well both boob and bottle.

  • Me! I'm a STM. DD1 was (and still is) super chill. I've heard so many times that of you have one "good" one your second will be a terror. So far that's not true for us!

  • My LO is a pretty chill baby (I hope I don't jinx him). We didn't have issues with nursing, he didn't have colic, and even if he has some reflux, he was just spitting/throwing up without crying. He's smiling through hiccups. And after I've started the eat-play-sleep routine it's even easier to figure out what he wants and to fulfill his needs. If only he could sleep for longer stretches at night (longer than 2h at least)... ;)
  • I definitely got blessed with a super calm baby... She literally only cries if she's hungry and she gives plenty of warnings before that. I love her so much and I am so thankful to have such an easy going baby
  • DS2 is super relaxed and happy. Easy to soothe to sleep, rarely fussy unless its time to eat or he needs a change.  He just kind of hangs out all day.  I figure I deserve it since my first was a terror. DS1 is an A+ toddler, but seriously...he was a super high maintenance baby.

I would say my LO is super high maintainence as well and extremely fussy although not your prototypical "colic" baby. When did you first turn a corner. I hear it's like a light switches on and they become a new baby and less fussy at some point ? My baby is 10 and had weeks ... I patiently wait!

He became much more easy going around 3.5 or 4 months old.  He was more content to kind of hang out and with each new milestone it got a bit easier since he became more independent. Sleep continued to be an issue for a bit longer BUT as they get older the wake ups are pretty easy.  I was still getting up once or twice a night at 7 and 8 months old but I could be back in bed and asleep in about 15 minutes so it wasn't too bad.

10 and 11 weeks was honestly my most difficult time with him. Things get easier :)

ETA: DS1 was colicky either but he was just constantly fussy, a crap napper and always wanted to be held.  My back was a mess from wearing him all the time. Now he is super independent and I have to sneak my cuddles whenever I can!
  • That's encouraging and good to know. I guess we bunker down and keep at it...
Waking up in the middle of the night is tough but i think more stressful cuz she doesnt go back down easily ... Maybe takes an hour sometimes ...
  • My baby was pretty relaxed for the most part until around 8 weeks (hell, she didn't even cry in the hospital) and then started fussing in the evenings and not really napping. So your LO may not stay this way forever or may still go through phases. Enjoy the peace you get though!
