(loss mentioned) Two times PGD tested embryos failed to implant

edited December 2015 in Infertility
Hello! Original issue was 3 miscarriages due to possible chrom issues, thyroid, and Not so great sperm analysis. TSH has been in normal range for both egg transfers. And in two egg retrievals total of 13 Ferilized Eggs and in the end 7 viable Pgd tested embryos. But both times the PGD tested embryo didn't implant. I did one frozen transfer with acupuncture and one fresh transfer without acupuncture, so now I'm in unexplained infertility category. Now Dr. is redoing SHG (since different dr did it last year) and doing an endometrial biopsy since they weren't expecting this issue with implanting. Any advice?

  • @purepositivity I don't have any advice per se, but I have just been through a failed fresh transfer and preparing for a fet next month. Are they doing the endometrial biopsy to look for an issue in your lining or as a therapeutic measure to help implantation? I am scheduled for a biopsy like procedure next week, but not for diagnostic reasons, it's to try and assist with implantation next cycle. From what I have read, it is frequently done in women with 2 failed ivf transfers. (I've only done one, but I guess my clinic does them on everyone). If they are doing your biopsy for diagnostic reasons, it may be worth asking about the "endometrial scratch" as a therapeutic treatment.

  • @erinscaren thank you so much for your reply! I read a little about the endometrial scratch awhile ago. I'll definitely bring it up! I think they are just doing it to look if there's an issue but honestly didn't get to talk to anyone yet so not sure. Sorry about your failed transfer. So disappointing after all you go through. I know a few people that had much better luck with frozen since their bodies had a break from stimming. Lots of luck to you!!
  • My nurse told me today that the endometrial biopsy and scratch are the same thing, they are both a disruption. But since I had the biopsy my results can take up to 14 days and I won't get my next steps until the results come.
  • @purepositivity - thanks for sharing that info. I'm going in for a biopsy too, and was curious about the scratch, so question answered ;) When do you get your results?

  • That's excellent news @purepositivity hoping this IVF is it for you! Anything else come up or are you still "unexplained"? Have you done immune testing at all, I can't recall...
