I have them! It was pretty rough at first but I started taking them with yogurt and it's really helped. I haven't gotten constipated or anything. Just drink extra water too.
See if they will let you take chelated iron instead (OTC, at health food stores, but maybe mainstream as well).. Supposed to be much easieron the GI tract. My MW was fine with that for my anemia.
ETA: I just realized it autocorrected to "cheated" iron. It was supposed to say chelated!
I'm taking iron pills (it just says ferrous sulfate so Idk if that's different from what you're prescribed) but my OB also prescribed Colace and recommended a Vitamin C supplement once a day to help with absorption (like VitaLuna said). She also said not to take it within 4 hours of taking my prenatal. Besides the annoyance of 2-3 extra pills twice a day, I don't notice any difference, but I wasn't aware I was anemic in the first place.
I am on zantac 2x a day morn and at night. Apparently zantac decreases iron absoption. I have been taking the zantac 2 hrs before iron. Hope this is Ok. What a pain this spacing is.

Yes, you can take it either 2 hours before or after your iron. Also the iron needs to be taken 2 hours before or after your prenatals.
I'm late to the convo, but I take these also. (I've been passing over this all week because I had to check and see if they were what I was taking, and I kept forgetting to look at the bottle.) I also take a stool softener with every dose (2x a day) to avoid the constipation. I don't have a problem with them at all, and since taking them my energy level has even gone up a hair. My only concern when I started taking them was according to the pharmacy I had to take them on an empty stomach, so one hour before eating or two hours after. It was impossible for me, and for the first week even though I tried, when I wake up I gotta eat!!!! My dr said its fine to just take them with food and that wasn't a problem at all as long as I was getting them.
