Does anyone else have a scheduled induction?

Yesterday I was scheduled to be induced at 39 weeks... Baby boy is arriving on January 10 (unless I am in labor for longer than 18 hours which I have been told is possible)!! I live at least an hour from the hospital that I need to deliver at and so my doctor decided that this was the best plan of action to avoid complications (high risk pregnancy). So unless he comes earlier than Jan 10 (which is unlikely because it is my first baby and he is measuring on the smaller side) my sweet baby boy will be in my arms in 29 days :)!!! Seems so surreal when I feel like I have been pregnant FOREVER!!

    I don't have a scheduled induction, but I'm planning on asking about it at my next appointment.  I'm measuring right on schedule but, due to previous abdominal surgeries, docs are worried about baby girl getting too big.  Will be interesting to see what happens!

    I might be. Baby was borderline IUGR at my last growth scan. I have another one Monday and I'm kinda nervous to see what the plan of action is. Either baby slips into IUGR status and could be born very soon or he's doing well an we'll keep chugging along.

    i just found out yesterday  that due to my Gestational Diabetes, my doctor will not let me go past 39 weeks.

    So it's not scheduled yet, but it might will be soon.

    They won change my due date even though his measurements put him due sooner so they said if he is still in me Jan 20th then that's when we are inducing

    I actually have a scheduled induction next weekend on 12/19! I'm due 1/9 so that puts me right at 37 weeks. I've had some higher blood pressures the last few weeks and preterm contractions and they've had to rule out pre-e twice for me so far so my body and pregnancy are not quite getting along so once he's term it's safest just to evict him and get my pressures normalized again. But it's crazy to think I get to meet this kiddo in just over a week! So nervous as a FTM and going through an induction, my doc walked me through the process yesterday before I'm too nervous right next week at our last appointment to absorb any sort of information

    If so, it won't be until 39 weeks. I'm going to discuss it simply because she's measuring ahead and the sciatic pain is completely unbearable... We will see.
    @kwentela We share a due date! I was induced with my son a year ago (my first) and it really wasn't bad! To be honest, I'd prefer it just because I don't have the anxiety of "will it happen now? When I'm out in public? What if I don't make it to the hospital?" Excited for you, though!

    Even though I am well aware that he could make an appearance before then, I am SO HAPPY THAT HE CANT APPEAR AFTER THAT ;)! I mean if labour lasts longer than one day I am ok with that because at least I will already be in the hospital. Good luck to all the Mommy's who have responded so far :). It has been a long, long journey since first finding out about this sweet baby's existence on May 19! I can't wait to meet my little boy, Benjamin :).

    Being induced Jan 11!!! Can't wait! Find out monday if it will be c section or vaginal due to previous complications during delivery.

    I will be induced at 39 weeks unless something unholy happens. It's been a crappy pregnancy to be honest so everyone expects me to go early.

    I'm curious if having GD was the only reason for the induction or if baby is also measuring large/ there are other concerns. I just got diagnosed with GD and don't have another appt until Tuesday and I'm wondering if this means an automatic early induction.

    I don't have GD... I live an hour from the hospital that I am registered to deliver at and the baby requires medical care right after he is born. He is going to be ok, but if I went into labour naturally and for some god forsaken reason couldn't make it to the hospital that I am supposed to deliver at things could go south fast :/.

    I have GD and I will be induced 12/28. I will be 39 weeks. Baby is super healthy and actually measuring normal range but it is my belief that protocol is that if you have GD Doctors can not let you go pass 39 weeks. Feeling anxious. Two more weeks to go.

    Scheduled induction on new years eve due to preeclampsia :) hopefully we make it that long! I'll be 37 weeks.

    I'm going through this as well. What percentile is your baby measuring? Mine was in 28th and has possibly slipped to 3rd. I have a thorough ultrasound tomorrow for accurate measurements.

    My baby was measuring small (and still is - just at around 20 percent)... I was told if I slipped into IUGR that they would take him at 37 weeks... Sending positive thoughts your way!! Keep us posted :).

    @katemariesf my baby was in the 25th at his anatomy scan and the following growth scan (28 weeks) but slipped to the 11th at my 32 week scan. I'm 35 weeks now and have a growth scan tomorrow which will determine where we go from here. I'm nervous!

    Baby is measuring large so we find out this week if OB will want to induce early. And I don't just mean a little big either. He failed the biophysical last week and we had to go back in for another one in which he passed. But I think there is concern that he may just be too big with too much fluid. We want a natural birth and I want to avoid csection at all costs. I don't mind being induced, but I don't want a csection if at all possible.

    I have gestational diabetes and have not been told I can't go past 39 weeks but I haven't thought to ask either...

    I also have a scheduled induction for Jan 10th! My husbands work schedule is crazy to say the least. He works on the opposite side of the country for two weeks then is home for two weeks. My OB decided to do an induction to we know for sure he will make it home for the birth.

    @cawalp I know a few people with GD who were not induced. I don't think it is an automatic. My one friend even went in to labor just under a week late with GD. They were all otherwise healthy, managing their GD well, and babies were good!

    I have GD and it is very well diet controlled and he is measuring normally. I think that's why they're letting me stay pregnant as long as my sugars are doing good.

    @cawalp He is measuring big. He was 3.5 pounds on my 28 week visit and my stretch marks from my 3 year old are getting bigger.  i have a growth scan on Christmas Eve so we will see how big he is then. But my stomach measured 34 cm at 32 weeks.

    @cawalp my GD is considered uncontrolled bc I've been on insulin for about 2 months and have been upped 4 times on my dosages. I was told if you have GD you can't go past 39 weeks and because mine is uncontrolled I can't go past 38. Baby is in the 32nd percentile so I'm lucky in that sense.

    My last baby was 10 lbs 3oz and this one is measuring big and I'm a small person so as long as my cervix is ready I'll be induced at 39 weeks.

    I have been to 4 different doctors (for added opinions) due to complications and baby measuring small and not growing as expected. I was told by one doc that they would not let me go past 40 weeks and I would be induced; however, two of the docs have not mentioned being induced. I think they are all taking a wait and see approach.

    I have a growth scan on 12/30 to access when I should be induced.  At our last growth scan baby girl was only in the 6th percentile.  If she has slipped lower they will want to induce at 37 weeks, New years Day.  They said they won't let me go late no matter what and would likely induce at 39 weeks at the latest, this is all so weird to me because I went into preterm labor with my son and could barely hold him in, I have had a couple pre term scares this time, but no active labor yet, everyone was so sure I would have gone by now.  Just waiting to see what the 30th brings.

    TTC#1 May 2009- July 2010 on our own with no luck

    Started with RE in August 2010, dx with unexplained IF and then finally our 3rd IUI cycle using Follistim and Trigger resulted in our wonderful little man.  Born 12/2/11

    TTC#2 Never really prevented, but were careful early on as Dr. reccomended

    Surprise BFP 12/16/13, started progesterone immediately as first numbers came back low, but betas were good.  Progesterone wasnt enough. Natural MC 12/24/13.

    Back with RE as of January 2014...

    5/27/14- Chemical Pregnancy :(

    April 2015 IVF#1

    5/13/15- BFP, please stick LO!

    Oh and I'm a major Harry Potter Nerd :)

    I very well could be for the near future. Currently at the hospital for high pressure with protein in urine being monitored. The swelling is pretty bad. I'm 34w1day today. Staying positive!

    @katemariesf how was your scan yesterday? Mine was mostly ok but showed elevated umbilical dopplers so they want me to come back and repeat tomorrow! Geez! I hope I don't have to keep up that pattern for too long- either delivery or they decide things are ok because it is hard for me to keep a schedule like that needing sitters for my other children.

    I have GD and at my appointment today was told I will be induced at 39 weeks...just waiting on the hospital to confirm the exact date. GD has been controlled entirely by diet, and baby is actually measuring 1 week behind and approximately 6lbs currently (36w1d).

    Following an appointment on monday, im scheduled induction for tomorrow. Struggling to get to sleep (midnight, UK.)
    Being induced as baby's measuring small so according to royal college guidelines 37 week induction. Wish me luck, trying my best to remain positive despite all the negative stuff ive read about induction

    At my appointment yesterday the dr said that because of my GD and high blood pressure.  Both of which at this time I am managing, she won't let me go past 39w4d which will be January 19th.  So as long as the holidays don't get the best of my blood pressure baby should keep cooking.  :)  With my son I was induced at 36w4d because of a spike of high blood pressure, but this time I am really hoping for a normal non induced labor.
