So, the short version is, I have routines, we do bath times and he naps well during the day and I get him to sleep easily so I know he's tired- but around the 5 week mark LO has gotten to the point that no matter when I try to put him down after I've gotten him to sleep, whether I lay him down 10 minutes after he's out or and hour after, those eyes pop open and he's up. I have left him when that happens to encourage him to calm himself back to sleep, which he had done previously. However, now he has some reflux issues going so when he wakes he spends some time happily kicking and flinging his arms, which busts him out of his swaddle, then he flings all his limbs for a good 10-20 minutes, which works him up, which makes him gag, then he sounds like he's choking, then I feel I have to pick him up to calm him- and we start the whole process over again. When he sleeps upright on my chest at night he can go 6hours without waking. What have you done that has helped with them staying asleep when put down- or something else worth trying?!? I know he's still very young and the reflux doesn't help but I fear I'm beginning a bad habit of him needed to be tricked into sleep.
