Health and Wellness goals for the week!

It seems like many of us are either in the second trimester or moving in to it shortly. So that hopefully means more energy, improved MS, and increased appetite.

Any one have any goals they are setting for themselves for the week to either stay on track with your health and wellness or maybe get back on track after a rough first tri?

My goals are to get in my 10,000 steps a day (my fitbit thinks I'm lame) and to watch my portions (my eyes are ALWAYS bigger than my stomach).

Re: Health and Wellness goals for the week!

  • I want to eat way less take out this week. Last week was ridiculous - granted a lot of it was stress eating, but still. I need to stop the madness!!!!

    So, my goals are:

    1. Eat less take out

    2. Eat more vegetables

    3. Walk more

  • My goal is to get at least three yoga/light workout sessions in. I worked out five days a week every single week for years before getting pregnant, but stopped around 8 weeks because the exhaustion was too much, then I had some bleeding and it scared me so I've been taking it easy. 15 weeks now and I think it's time to jump back on the wagon, or I know I'm going to regret it!
  • Now that I've hit the second trimester and have most of my energy back during the day, I am doing my best to stick these goals:

    - Keep up with my workout routine & lifting weights 4-5 days a week
    - I am also doing my best to get in at least 10,000 steps with my desk job (thank you FitBit for reminding me!)
    - Get in more fruits/veggies
    - Start incorporating some prenatal yoga

Other than just being tired still, I feel pretty good. So I'm just trying to stay active and keep up my water intake on top of my other goals!
  • @courtjack I agree! Less take out should be on my list as well.

@mamabudd glad you are feeling better and ready to get back in it. I agree, if I don't start now it will keep getting out of control!

@mrsschmity thank goodness for my fitbit or I wouldn't quite realize how unbelievably nonmoving I am at work. Started walking around the conference room again whenever I have a cancelled or no show appointment instead of seeing it as time to nap on my couch.
  • Yes!!!  I need to get my eating on track and my fitness routine going again.  I plan on cardio today, Wednesday and Friday (30-45 minutes) as well as some yoga this week.  My goal for food is to try to eat more veggies, drink more water and eat way less processed foods.
  • I am actually going to cook healthy meals this week! I came up with a list of meals that didn't sound disgusting to me and make sure to buy all the stuff last night. I'm excited to not live off fast food anymore.
  • I am getting back on track with lifting and running. Also, trading my grilled cheese sandwiches (sigh, I'll miss you!!!) for salads.

Sacrilege!  Don't say it!!!  I'll maybe make it a half sandwich with a side salad.  ;)
  • I'm taking baby steps as my energy is slowly creeping back and my MS is getting worse:

    1. Include veggies in every meal (even if it is take-out - Panera broccoli cheese soup for the win!)

    2. Move more - this week it's cleaning the house, 1 task every night

    3. Drink more water - I bought seltzer water and starting adding a splash of lemonade to regular water and it's helping me get more down throughout the day

I'm accepting that I need to be healthier, but also keeping in mind that it needs to be small changes and not an overnight adjustment that throws me all off.

  • I'm trying to cut out the quick fix fast food meals (which I barely ever ate before this pregnancy, yuck). I also ordered a prenatal vinyasa yoga dvd and a prenatal Pilates dvd that will be delivered tomorrow. With the amount of extra gas (double yuck) my body seems to be producing right now I'm a bit nervous to practice in a class setting. Both DVDs had great reviews so fingers crossed I don't get bored.
  • @hockeyfan42 now I'm hungry for grilled cheese

    1)  Continue my fairly regular workouts, at least 3x a week
    2) Eat vegetables with at least 2 meals a day (this has been so so hard for some reason)
    3) Drink more water.
