Weekend Vents/Rants

I shall start.

SO and I were trying to find the closest post office to our new apartment. I have blurred vision and my OB knows but everything is fine. So I couldn't read the street signs to see how far we had gone and I told SO to slow down. He did not. So I ignored him until we got home 10 minutes later. We discussed it and how he needs to listen. it's an on going issue because he will go off on a tangent and not hear everything I told him then he will get upset because he doesn't have all the info even though I already gave him the info. We go to therapy.

Then I am helping a doctor out. (I'm a nurse) He is a family friend of my BFF. He lives states away with his wife. Both have poor health and he has had to retire because his health has declined. He gets home health aides and nurses. However he doesn't like the aides or nurses giving him baths only his wife. He has ALS and his wife has MS and cancer. His wife can't physically do as much because her health is getting worse. I told her to stand her ground and remind him of what he would say if a patient was in his shoes at the ER being seen by him. Men!

If I hear "just wait, you'll see" one more time I'm going to scream. My SIL the other day kept trying to tell me how my life is going to be post baby. How my husband won't be hands on and how he will start "working late" a lot. Then I will want my mom in the delivery room. I won't care who is in there lookin at my bits. Uhm, yes, I will. I am a private person and I am not comfortable with anyone but trained medical staff being in the delivery room (except my husband). And telling me what interests my son will have as he gets older and how they are totally different than girls and I just have to "get ready" for it. Ugh. Seriously.

I'm totally with you. The first time around I didn't care so much because I had no idea what to expect but now that I've been through it and I have 4 year old son who is awesome (if I do say so myself) I'm just thinking "Shut the hell up! Let me do me and you do you." I just smile and nod and try to hide the look of irritation that I'm sure is burning in my eyes.

Last Wednesday I went to my OB (I go every Wednesday now) I'll be 37 weeks tomorrow (Monday)... When I was at my appointment my doctor checked and I'm 1cm dilated (Whoo?) I told my mom- which freaked her out.
I'm no longer allowed to be by myself ( SO works 10-15hrs a day - BUT literally 2mins from our house) I'm no longer allowed to drive by myself (I also have dizziness) because "my water can break any time now and I don't want to be alone when that happens (rolls eyes)... I also have to watch out for spotting ... (Do you see where this is going?)

I told her- fine, I can no longer come to your house (I live 5ish minutes from her house) I can no longer go to the store.. I can also no longer go get any food to feed my baby (she thinks I don't eat enough).
Her response "oh, just tell me what you need, I'll get it for you"

I get it, you are trying to be a concerned mother/grandma but woman...chill...
I kinda wish I didn't tell her.. Good grief.

OH! Did I also mention my family is placing bets on when my son will arrive? Oh, I wish they were betting for money, no, that's too simple... Whomever wins the "bet" gets to wear a crown at the hospital...
Now, seriously....
If you worked at a hospital, and you walked into a patient room... And a visitor was just sitting there with a crown.....
This may make me sound conceited, but doesn't that take the attention off of me and my newborn son?
But, when I say something about it they all get hurt.
I refuse to take part in their childish game they have going on....

Rant over.. Maybe...

This vent is really lame, but it's bugging me.

There was a thread yesterday in 3rd Tri that was titled something like 37 weeks and fever. I responded twice in the thread, and it's gone now. Not like the usual DD with a "." or something, but just gone, and no one else seems to have noticed. Or maybe it's just gone for me? Maybe? Would that be b/c I was reported, or b/c the OP blocked me? Never had either happen before

I NEED to know if the thread is still there/what happened! It's driving me crazy!

This app. Half the time it says I'm logged in, I go reply to something and I get "you don't have permission to do that." Or then I go to actually log in and it takes me to some crap screen that's not helpful and I have to hit my back button a hundred times just to get somewhere.

With so many updates you'd think The Bump would actually fix some shit and you know, allow users to post and reply without getting the runaround.

This. I have to exit the app and come back into it for it to work. God forbid, I get distracted and my screen goes dark...

My weekend rant is about family. My son's birthday party was yesterday and my FIL knows that I'm extremely allergic to cigarette smoke and refuse to gave it around my child who is already fighting a nasty cough. So he of course, ignores me, tells me to stay away from him, but won't get out of my son's face! He came directly inside from smoking to feed my child off of his silverware! Also, before we did cake, I stripped DS down to his diaper and FIL physically demanded that he get a picture of my son, naked? Where are you sending these pictures?
And then my aunt and uncle who I also have a fairly strained relationship with, insisted on being in DS's face the entire party too... they've met him once. Leave the poor kid alone! He doesn't know you!

I didn't see it yesterday, but I looked trough 5 pages of discussions and I don't see it.

Stupid freaking UTI.... 2nd one in 5 weeks... BLAH I'm done with you. And of course it only happens on weekends so I got to sit in our only walk in clinic for forever to get something for it. On the bright side I always react well to the drugs they give and it resolves quickly... I can't WAIT to not have to worry about UTI's and being pregnant. Might still get them occasionally but won't have to worry about going into premature labour.

Stupid cranberry juice not doing it's job... I drink at least half a glass every day

Long rant warning: Just like many of you wonderful ladies I have MIL drama. I thought it was a thing of the past since we stopped talking to her in Apirl! But no, my know it all father decided it wasn't right that we've decided to exclude her from our lives and daughter's life. He even had the nerve to tell her that I was pregnant. We do not want this woman knowing anything about us. As far as we're concerned she is a stranger and has no right to know anything about us. This caused a huge fight between him and my mom. As she believes it's our life our decision, it does not effect him in anyway. We're more annoyed and hurt than we are angry with my dad. Unfortunately he is just being manipulated by MIL and it's disappointing that someone so people savvy would fall for her tricks. We plan to have a long sit down with him when he is off and essentially tell him enough is enough he can decide if he wants to be involved in MIL'S life or his grandchildren. Ugh such an ugly situation.

Today is mine and my husband's 1 year anniversary. He proceeds to take off for 2 hours to go watch football with his friends leaving me home alone. Then is late coming home and now we are going to be late for our reservation bc it's all the way in NY (about 1 hour away.) While I am trying not to be bitchy, I can't help but be super pissed. Is it too much to ask to spend 1 day together?!? Doesn't help that these hormones are out of control or the fact that my carpal tunnel is so bad my fingers have been numb for days... ughhhhhh

where are the angry faces!!!!!! >:(

TB police probably deleted it, they will do that if they deem something really bad. Or there is a certain person who posts over there who has threads that disappear all the time. She posted how she doesn't want her baby and since then every time she posts stuff no one can see if after a little while. It's weird. OP can't block you from seeing her stuff - you can only block yourself from having to see someone's posts and then they don't disappear, the text is just hidden until you click on them. If you were reported and got a warning TB police would let you know in a message.

I'm pretty pissed off at both of our families right now. My BIL and SIL graduated this sememster (YAY!) and so naturally my MIL had a party for them. Fine, great! What time? 6:00 freaking PM! You do remember that we have a 2 yr old son who's bedtime is 7:00? They did the whole walk for graduation with the gowns and the diplomas and everything at NOON, and you decided to have the party, where my son isn't the only one under 5, at 6:00 at freaking night? He didn't end up getting to bed until 9:00, at which point he was cranky and hopped up on all the sugar my MIL decided to give him right before we left.

My family is also doing family Christmas things today. What time? 1:00 PM, smack in the middle of DS's nap. -_- Have you people completely forgotten what it's like to have toddlers? Great, thanks for excluding us from our families Christmas traditions. My DH's response is, "Well, it's after church for them", yeah you know what else is after church? 2:00 - 7:00.

I think I just hate everyone today.

I am freaking starving all the sudden. I have been stuffing my face all day and no matter what I don't get full and then get hungry again to the point of nausea. At 36+4 I have gained 35lbs and at this rate it will be 50 by the time I give birth. I just want to not be hungry.

I want snow. It is mid December in Wisconsin, why is there no snow and TONs of rain? I want to go see the light displays and it just isn't the same without snow. Now I know when it finally does hit I am going to hate life because I very much dislike driving on snowy roads, but darn it I want it!

I think it is holding off until I go into labor so it makes it impossible for any of my family to get here.

Please please please, I need a white Christmas!

Thank you (and the others who answered.) I was so happy to finally get in at the beginning of one of *those* threads instead of coming in after it had already been talked/gifed to death, and the disappointment of it disappearing was very real. I've never gotten so much as a warning, so I was confused.

I want to rip my face off! I know I've complained about it before, but I'm going to again. Pregnancy-induced allergies suck. I've never dealt with any allergies, ever, but apparently I'm now a little more than mildly allergic to my cats. Kill me. I forgot to take my zyrtec this morning, and I am really paying for it now. I can't breathe, and my eyes are itch and swell their way out of my head! I'm like a fountain of snot. I sneeze and people around me are like:

Im with you on the snow! Im in Toronto and we havent had a flake! Tomorrow its supposed to pour all day. Wtf! I cant get into the Christmas spirit like this! After Christmas it can be this weather..

I heard the weather for this winter in the northern US and Parts of Canada is going to be like this. Warm and rain. If we get snow they say it might not happen until March.

I can't take work anymore. I only have 3 shifts left but I am so f-ing miserable by the end of my day. Today I drank a 1/4 of the water I normally do and didn't pee for 6 hours and by the end I was contracting painfully but still running around like a mad woman. I just can't wait for maternity leave to start so I don't have to feel like I ran a marathon at the end of every day.

ETA: and I just realized hubbie locked me out of the bedroom so I get to sleep on the couch.

I'd beat the door down until he opened it or I broke it... Whichever comes first..

Luckily, SO doesn't have the option to lock me out anymore seeing as how our bedroom door doesn't even close now.

I'm weird. I like sleeping away from my SO because he snores and moves around way too much. Even the cat is back to sleeping with me because he's annoying her.
