Tampons?

I got the go ahead from my doctor, but they bother me. I had the IUD inserted so am spotting, sometimes more than a liner can handle and I hate pads. I even had a c section. It feels like it's in there crooked and kind of hurts. Any one else have this trouble?

Haven't had my official period yet, but plan on using them when I do. I think I did have a semi period 5 weeks postpartum but just figured it was still bleeding. I also had a c section and I figure it would feel like when you used them for the first time, just have to get used to them again. Kinda like sex it's a process all over again lol.

Oh tell me about it. I ended up in tears during our first attempt. My body feels foreign, things aren't in the same place, baby crying in the back ground. It was awful.
  • Maybe try a different brand. I noticed my usual brand was no longer comfortable post partum.
  • The brand could be the problem. I got some from my local store and they didn't have my usual brand in regular, I didn't need super plus.
  • My friend who is currently pregnant asked how sex feels after and I'm like its like having sex with a cactus lol and I didn't even have a vaginal birth so I'm guessing it's twenty times worse for them.

Yikes! That is a terrible mental picture! Ha ha I had a vaginal birth and it was definitely not like that! Thank goodness! It took a few times for the scar tissue (just from a small tear) to not feel a little uncomfortable at the beginning. Slow and easy was key for me. On that note, I am now on my second period post partum (ebf did not stop my period from coming back) and just started using tampons again. I think the previous poster had a good idea to try a different brand. Even with a c-section it will probably take your body time to heal and feel normal. You could also try using a tiny bit of lube to help you place it better.

A cactus is a good way to describe it lol. I don't know if this is my actual period or what. I had nothing until I got the IUD on Monday and it's really light, but every once in a while just a little heavier than I feel comfortable just using a liner. I did find one of my normal brand tampons and it was better. The cotton is softer than what I bought. Ugh, why can't things just snap back to normal?!
