Uncomfortable Question

Ok, so this might be a little too personal/tmi but this morning my hubby and I enjoyed some personal time but halfway through I felt a sharp muscle twinge. We slowed down and I felt fine. Later I realized I had bled a little bit-it was dark by the time I noticed and stopped almost immediately.

Of course I freaked out a little. I know this is normal due to sensitivity and increased blood flow-this morning my nose also bled a ton. I feel fine now and there wasn't any cramping.

Has this happened to anyone before?

Not me, personally, but yes I've known of many women here on TB who have bled or spotted after sex, including well into the second tri. Sex can irritate the cervix.

Thank you! I feel a lot better :) googling stuff isn't the best way to reassure myself but hearing personal stories definitely helps :)

  • I'm still on pelvic rest, but even still I've had some twinges.  It could be round ligament pain.  I didn't get it until later last time, but this time I think since everything has already been stretched out I felt it almost immediately.

  • This happened to me during my first pregnancy. I was freaked out, but the baby was perfectly fine. The cervix can be really sensitive during pregnancy, and it's easy to cause a little bleeding, but it's not harmful.
