1st Trimester

I can't stop thinking about something wrong...

I had a BFP on 12/7, 12/9 & 12/11. According to Last period, I am one day short of being 6 weeks. When I had my BFP's I had pretty sore boobs, tightness in my abdomen, bloating and fatigue. I have woken up the last two days with no symptoms and actually feel too good. And yesterday, after a BM, I had light pink on the TP after wiping, nothing since.
Of course, it is Sunday, so I can't call anyone and nobody is open, my only option is ER or wait until tomorrow and call...

I have spent the weekend just laying around being sad. I don't know what to do. This is my first pg after several months of trying and I literally can't do anything but think about why I don't feel pregnant, what's wrong, etc... I just want to cry.

I don't understand why I would go to bed feeling bloated/crampy and wake up to nothing.

Please respond. I can't talk to DH about it and no one else knows...

Thanks

  • What PP mentioned. ER's aren't the best place to go for reassurance. Not many of the docs there have the same amount of experience with pregnancy as an ob. I'd only head there if I was in pain and bleeding. Even then, I'd ask to be transferred to L&D.

Just know that symptoms can come and go. Some people feel sick throughout the whole pregnancy, while others only have mild discomfort. The presence or lack of symptoms doesn't make a pregnancy more or less viable. Just relax and call your doc, most places do have an after hours number. If you call the answering service should be able to forward the call to your doc or to an on-call doctor.

We can't give you much more advice. Spotting can be normal under some circumstances and not normal under others. FX for you.

  • I knew several women who had light pink spotting here or there and went on to have super healthy kids.  As PP said as long as its not dark red and you aren't feeling cramps you're likely fine.  Call your OB/midwife tomorrow am to confirm.
  • I can't comment on the light pink after wiping, as I've never had that happen to me, but as far as not having any symptoms and "not feeling pregnant", I can. I have yet to "feel pregnant" beyond sore boobs and always tired. I haven't had morning sickness at all, no cramps, not really craving anything outrageously weird. I'm 15 weeks today and I thank my lucky stars that pregnancy has been a breeze so far.

Every woman's body is different and will react to being pregnant different. My sister was like me with both her kids. Felt normal the whole time. My former roommate, on the other hand, was always sick and always complaining (but I'm fairly certain she was making shit up for sympathy points... Insert eye roll).
The weekend is almost over, so I'd say put in a call to your ob first thing in the morning.

  • I've been feeling the same so I totally understand how you feel. I'm still bloated and tired but some symptoms like sore boobs and constipation have gone away. I'll be 6w on Thurs. Thankfully I have an appt tomorrow which hopefully will give me some peace of mind. I'm sure everything is fine. I had spotting and bleeding from 4w to 5w and my levels were still going up, so don't lose hope yet! It's not over till it's over!
  • If you strained in any way for your BM the pi nk/blood could very well just be from a small anal tear and unrelated to your pregnancy. If not, spotting in early pregnancy can also quite normal without meaning anything detrimental. Symptoms come and go. Luckily this pregnancy for me I've had very few symptoms and initially was concerned, now I'm just grateful. I know the baby is fine and I'm not suffering crazy pregnancy symptoms. If you have no other negative issues I wouldn't immediately jump to having problems. You can call your doctor for peace of mind but the er or urgent care can't do anything for you.

  • Sorry you're feeling this way. I'm not a doctor but nothing that you've said sounds overly concerning to me. If you had bright red bleeding and painful cramps then that would be alarming. I never really had any typical symptoms and anyway symptoms come and go as every woman and every pregnancy is different.
I'd try to not worry too much and you should be able to call an after hours service if you truly need that peace of mind. Best of luck :)

  • @jskarr7 I agree with @ecwk. Nothing you wrote sounds alarming. In fact, it sounds normal to me. Are you 100% positive the pink spotting wasn't from your BM? To not "feel pregnant" at 6 weeks is 100% normal.
  • @Kristin712 i know it was not rectal. It was the only time i saw a shade of pink since yesterday. Of course, I haven't had a BM today, but i read that sometimes that does happen during BM for some reason..?
As far as symptoms, it is just strange to have pretty bad bloat and RLP and sore boobs and then wakeup to nothing..
I am going to call my dr anyways tmrw bc my u/s isn't sched until 12/22... i may literally go nuts by then... it is like an act of congress to get in early unfortunately...

I have good and bad days with my boobs. I get uterine cramping sometimes every day, but other times every 3 days. I think it's normal for bloat to come and go. It increases as the day goes on because you're eating and drinking. I tend to wake up with a flat stomach but then by 5pm have difficulty keeping my pants buttoned. I'm sorry that you're scared and worried right now. I had a loss in July so I know what you're going through. Unfortunately, you may just have to wait for your appointment because if you are losing this pregnancy, there's nothing they can do and there's no medical reason for you to get in ASAP. That being said, I hope for your peace of mind you can get in soon and see a healthy baby on the u/s.
  • As PPs have said, symptoms can come and go, especially so early on. The fact you feel nothing would actually be reassuring to me...it's when you feel like your period is coming on and you see bright red bleeding that would make me worry.

Also, do you know when you ovulated? Because I temped/charted, I found out at 3w1d. Since you're so early on (and could be even earlier on), it could just be implantation bleeding or normal hormonal changes. Definitely call the OB in the morning and keep us updated!

  • I had this same issue during the 1st tri of my first pregnancy with my DD. I had it several times (mostly after trying to do a bm - I was slightly constipated).

I was told after two trans vaginal ultra sounds that they couldn't find a specific reason and that some women are just bleeders and that I probably have a sensitive cervix.

I would probably call your doctor's office. They will probably want to see you and just make sure everything is OK. It will give you peace of mind too!

  • I had spotting at 6w and was beside myself the next two weeks wating for an u/s. The main reason that i kept worrying was becuase my sypmtoms came and went, especially the sore boobs. Each time they disapeared i was convinced i was having an m/c. Turns out i wasnt, and its very common for early pregnancy symptoms to come and go, the spotting cleared up too. I wish i had tried to relax through those days a bit more becuase i drove myself crazy. Please try OP, many of us have had very similar, with alot of us having good outcomes. Keep your mind occupied, movies, tv, books whatever, and try and rest. I found lying out the couch helped me chill out a bit, becuase keeping rested was the only thing i could do that might help. Call your doc for advice, but being so early on there would be likely nothing to see on u/s, although they could start some beta draws.
  • I had pink spotting around 5 weeks for several days. My symptoms (those that I had) came and went. Some never came. I had some symptoms that i had never heard of before.

Last Thursday, I gave birth to a healthy little girl.
  • I had ultrasound on the 22nd and saw a 164 heartbeat :) tmrw will be 8 weeks. I am going on day 3 of no symptoms, but I am trying to remind myself that I have had similar days prior to seeing HB.. I still may call Dr tmrw since she told me that loss of symptoms is not a good sign.... of course, that's exactly what happened, 1 day after telling our families... so I am stressed to say the least.. any thoughts? Thanks ladies

Every one is different. Symptoms come and go.
Yesterday, I was miserable. Today I feel great. So guess what, I plan on enjoying it while it lasts.
    Thank God for Raid.
