Restraining Order?

My SD does not live with us but DH has joint guardianship and a standard visitation court order. Due to his job we do not live nearby for weekend visits but always fly her out for extended ones. Recently issues have come about that interrupted our visits and we may need to return to court. Prior to these newer issues my ILs divorced. Divorce is a very sensitive subject in our family and to protect our children we asked that they not have contact with them unless it was through us. My MIL has decided to disregard the request and continues to have social media contact with SD's mother. She has been showing blatant favoritism towards SD in this manner as she never comments on photos of our other children. SD and her mother thrive on drama and while they don't know the full situation of the request with MIL or other issues/reasons surrounding our request to her, MILs behavior will impact SDs attitude when she is around her half-siblings. We tried to talk to SDs mom about our concerns but she dismissed them. Is there a legal way to keep MIL from affecting our family? There is so much more to this than I can type...

It does not sound like you have any legal standing to get a restraining order. She is no way harming your family or you nor is she putting them in harms way, etc. Also having contact with SD on social media and only commenting on SD's photos doesn't mean anything either in-terms of legality for preventing her from having said contact. You need to talk to her again and express your concerns to her.
