I'm a FTM so I want to kinda get the feel of each brand. Most of wha I have is pampers. But, I have some Huggies in there and I have one pack of honest diapers
We used pampers with our DS when he was really small. Then whatever was cheap because nothing would contain his blow-outs. Once he was really running around, Huggies were required. Word of advice: be careful if you use pampers as they get bigger. The Velcro tab doesn't, and realzing 30-40 minutes after they've been changed and put in their pack n play that their pjs are soaked, finding said diaper slid into one leg of the footed pjs, and scrubbing the pack n play at dawn... Not cool.
Someone got us a giant box of size 1 huggies so those first along with some newborn Honest. Then we have some Earth's best size 1 and 2 and target size 2 and 3. I also have a good stash of bumgenious freetime AIO which are the longterm plan. Disposables are really for the beginning and for going out or if he gets a rash and we can't use the cloth.
We have to use pampers with my son because the leg holes are too big on the huggies and he would leak. So it really depends on your baby. I found with Luvs I had to change him way more. We've also had problems with the honest company diapers leaking.
Pampers, Huggies, up and up, parents choices, babies r us and well beginnings, Ect. We had no problem with our son in any of those so I buy what's on sale or I have coupons for and that's what we use. I have some of all of Those this time
@Cejiml I'm exactly the same. Pampers swaddled until size 2 then Target.
The Luvs and Huggies never fit him right and Honest company are very similar to Target. Leaks in either Pampers or Target usually happened because it was time to go up a size.
I have mostly Pampers. Quite a few of Target's own brand in sizes 1,2 and 3, as well as Wegmans (Grocery chain up in the North East) which for the family and friends that I have, who have used Wegmans brand diapers, they swear by them. I've heard that Huggies caused major blowouts and leakage troubles for most parents, once their child got into size 2 and beyond. Pampers will be what I mostly stick with and the two store brand styles, if they work well.
I'm going with huggies. I've used pampers before and huggies. My 4th is using huggies and she broke out with a terrible rash.. with bloodish.. and I switched her and never went back. Our hospital here is using huggies so I would love to stick with huggies..
We've used Pampers Swaddlers the entire time with DS1 and will likely continue this trend. We've been very happy with the diapers. We tired a few other brands, but they irritated DS's skin and we ended up back in Pampers.
But I have always used Luvs with DS. I have boxes of White Cloud diapers for DD. Never tried them but heard they are Pampers quality but $10 cheaper. We shall see. Otherwise back to Luvs it is!
When DD1 was smaller, anything that we had was fair game. When they basically poo liquid, nothing is guaranteed to hold that in. We had huggies, pampers, luvs, target (up&up), and honest and I didn't really notice a difference in any of them (read as: she managed to poop through all of them). Now that she's older (18 months) we're firmly on team Huggies Snug and Dry. Pampers gives her crazy bad saggy-ass!
Also, I should add that our hospital provides size 1 diapers for use in hospital with the babies, so no cord cut-out, just fold the front of the diaper in before fastening and it will stay out of the way of the cord.
We started with pampers for our first daughter but after swaddlers she got horrible rashes from them so we went to luvs which i wish we would have started with half the price and work just as good!! We will only be using luvs with this lo!
I plan on using cloth, but have some newborn Bambo diapers and some Huggies in size newborn and 1 that I got as a gift. Any disposables I don't use will be donated after baby sizes out of them.
Started out with pampers for the first couple months. Switched to luvs for the longest duration. Now using huggies little movers (only diaper that is comfortable for my daughter). This time I'm using huggies.
Our hospital provided Pampers and we had a lot of those, but once we ran out we only used Up & Up (target brand). I have never met anyone who has used Huggies honestly so I never thought of using them. I am not really picky with diapers, I'm pretty sure I would use anything, but I HATE Luvs. I don't think they work bad but the baby powder smell makes me want to barf. Whatever Luvs that were gifted to us with my first, were sent to daycare for this reason.
Whatever's on sale and what I have coupons for. DS is out of diapers, but he never had an issues with any of the brands - Pampers, Huggies, White Cloud, up&up, Parent's Choice. No point in spending more money on something they poop in and you throw away.
I plan to go chemical free. Starting with honest brand. I have super sensitive skin so I'm concerned that baby will too. Water wipes and organic diapers to start, I may try others if he doesn't seem easily irritated. I don't want to spend tons on something he's just going to fill with poop lol but I also don't want him to have a rash!
The hospital I deliver at uses huggies, I have a small package of newborn pampers at home, and we will see what works best. It took a while for us to find a diaper that worked for my son, we ended up with Luvs and have been using them for almost 2 years. I have heard though that girls are easier to find diapers that work for them.
I am using papmpers sensitive. I have heard really good things about pampers and all my siblings use them over anyone else. I'm a first time mom, so having siblings who have had babies helped me. I think it also depends on the baby. Baby's are sensitive to a lot of things so I decided to just use these to be safe.
Going with pampers swaddlers. We received two huge boxes of huggies little snugglers at our baby shower & I plan to go exchange them or get a gift card for them so I can buy pampers.
Our hospital provides pampers after delivery so we started with that with our DD and switched to huggies when she was about 6 weeks old due to diaper rash/allergy. I think it depends on your preference (cost, any allergy issues, leaking, liquid absorption, etc.) This time we will probably stick with huggies or the Target brand because those worked really well for our daughter and the price isn't too bad. If our son has any issues we'll work with other brands.
Re: Huggies vs pampers?

Whichever keeps his booty clean and dry I guess
Luvs all the way. Huggies have given all of my babies rashes, and Pampers are roughly the same as Luvs for us, but more expensive.

Deep down I'm a Luvs girl. Those are my favorite.
